Diner Reviews
  • "Great food, high quality! I always take friends and recruits/new hires from work here. I also go sometimes for dinner with my friends. All around great restaurant."

  • "Seated immediately. Comfortable temperature. Served bread and water right away. Knowledgeable waiter. Food served EXACTLY as ordered"

  • "we ordered 2 lobster salads, and they really was the worse we ever had. lobster meat was not fresh, could have been frozen because it was dry and very lumpy - need a fork to separate the meat. dressing was too citric and took away the lobster flavor. service was very poor. waiter just dumped the salad on the table and left, without offering any black pepper. and they were not even that busy! i've been to Palm on the East side and in East Hampton. this one is truly very disappointing."

  • "Had the summer special -a four pound lobster for two which is a steal at $99 includes a starter and a side. Worth making a trip for this giant. DELICIOUS."

  • "Food cold and not cooked to order. Big disappointment"

  • "Good food, fun to check out the celebs picture/signature on the wall. But I got to feel like in New York you can find much better surf and turf for a more reasonable price."

  • "We have been to the Palm restaurants in the past. We have always enjoyed eating there. This time was different. We had lobster which was not good, baked potato was left in the oven too long. It was overdone and dry. The waiter tried hard but could not correct the lobster which was overcooked. We got one of the Maitre D's to help. He took them back to the kitchen and brought my husbands back without the feelers which I love. We will not go back to this Palm."

  • "Their lobster special is wonderful The service is always very good"

  • "The 4 lb. lobster special was a bit disappointing in that the lobster was overdone. The manager offered another lobster tail, but unfortunately we did not have the time to wait."

  • "The restaurant is worth a visit even if one is not in the neighborhood for theater. The food and service are both excellent."

  • "It's always a fine dining experience at the Palm. Not only is the food great but the service is outstanding. You're never wanting for anything."

  • "Took my wife and family (12 in all) to the restaurant after making an open table reservations. The restaurant called me to confirm reservation the day of the reservation. While we didn't ask for one we had a private room for our family. This allowed my grandson to roam around without fear of getting lost. The food and service was outstanding. We had great appetizers and the entrees and side dishes were excellent as well. Our waitress was outstanding as well. She was pleasant and really seemed to enjoy her job. We never felt rushed and had a overall wonderful experience. Thank you!"

  • "Our waiter Joel was very attentive and he provided excellent service. My water glass was never empty and food came out on time and cooked as asked to be prepared. All the food was good except I thought the steak could have a bit more flavor."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "The experience on this visit was quite disappointing. The quality of our lobster was poor and did not compare to previous visits at this Palm or other Palm locations. We hope our next visit will live up to our expectations."

  • "We brought 2 couples with us. Not only was the food excellent as always , our friends were thrilled by the excellent service."

  • "For consistently good steak and sides; The Palm can't be beat. The wine list is great, the variety of the bread basket is delicious and the appetiizers are a delight. We always look forward to an evening at the Palm."

  • "Celebrating a special multi-generation girls' day in NYC and The Palm was a fabulous part of our day! Staff was very attentive and anticipated our every need. Food was excellent; everything from appetizers to dessert and cappucino. Mom ENJOYED the Key Lime Pie- her favorite. Simply a wonderful lunch. Perfect timing, we did not feel rushed at all, yet they got us out to make the matinee."

  • "Whenever I'm in NY, I make a point to dine at The Palm - West Side. The food is always great and, regardless of how long it's been since I've been there last, the staff always makes it feel like it was yesterday."

  • "Lobster was great. And the private dining room was fantastic. It was quiet and we could hear ourselves talk."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "The Palm was first to market on the steakhouse craze, but they forgot their customer. The specials are not special they are just short of what they promise. Their 4 lb lobster was 2 lbs at best, service was poor and they make offers they do not abide by. What was a welcome addition to the theater district has gone astray and is a MUST miss! & this is without even discussing the prices, go at your own peril."

  • "Why do steak houses feel they have to serve such huge portions? I'm not a big fan of steak, so I left that to my husband, who said his steak was great and perfectly cooked. I had crab cocktail to start (so-so) and a tuna steak that was delicious but at least twice as big as it needed to be. I ate half and would have taken the other half with me but we were heading to the theater. Cheesecake for dessert was good, but we could have used a third person (and maybe a fourth) to help us eat it. We've decided that a steak house is not the place to go pre-theater...just too much rich food."

  • "A classic top notch steakhouse. Food, service and atmosphere all are excellent."

  • "I don't regret going but I wasn't blown away by any part of the meal or the service. It was fine but, unless I am going to the theatre right across the street again, I won't come back. Hostess was incredibly friendly."

  • "Nester made our dinner memorable and enjoyable. Great service and food."

  • "We had two double cut NY strip steaks which easily served our party of six, combined with three side dishes, and appetizers. All were excellent. The wait staff was attentive and helpful."

  • "I love going to the Palm, it makes you feel special. The food is always fab, the service great, and I love when Jan is around, she is the best."

  • "Mini filet mignons were delicious Sauce was fantastic Lobster bisque soup ( extra) but worth the money was wonderful Choice of desserts was yummy too! Great lunch didn't rush even though we had a 2:00 pm show across the street Waitress was very attentive!!!"

  • "You know what you're getting when you dine at the Palm but they certainly deliver on the goods! We have the annual Summer Lobster Special and it was great. The lobster was sweet and not overcooked. They give you plenty of butter. The caesar salad and the sauteed spinach were delicious. My only criticism is that the onion rings could have been hotter..."

  • "A classic in midtown, the meals and service are top, an yes you will pay something for both! We had the 4 pound lobster and crab cakes and they were both excellent. The drinks, I might add, are small and I wonder why at the prices they charge, larger glasses for cocktails havent made it into the restaurant. Oh well. Wine list is fine albeit pricey. We had a great time and as I said, its a classic."

  • "Perfectly prepared steak is what we come here for but as the non-fish eater in our group, I really enjoy their fish. They have a nice selection of fish and the Chilean Sea Bass I chose was excellent. The steak eaters all enjoyed their filets and the sides are perfect for sharing, especially the half and half (cottage fries and onion strings). We had the soup special as appetizers and key lime pie for dessert. An excellent meal with excellent service."

  • "Was happy to find The Palm opened a restaurant in the theater district. The food was very good as usual and the pre theater service was excellent, waiter was friendly and efficient getting us to the theater on time."

  • "The Palm has the best quality steaks of any steakhouse, hands down. I've had a lot of steaks at a lot of different restaurants in NYC and elsewhere, and the quality at the Palm is always the best. Plus, they always cook their steaks to the perfect temperature - when you ask for medium rare, you get medium rare. Always perfect. The other food is delicious also, specifically the Tomato Capri salad, Caesar salad, lobster bisque, and all of the side dishes. The service is excellent as well. Highly recommend The Palm for an amazing meal."

  • "The most expensive meal I have had in my short 25 years of life so far. Was not judged, servers were friendly and attentive. Recommendations were given and take, we were not disspointed by the 36 oz steak cooked perfect to a med rare. The atmosphere was pleasant, relaxed and sophisticated. Cgocolate dessert was was moist and perfect! Worth every penny"

  • "We had a great lunch before the theater and only had an hour to order and eat. I had noted that in my reservation email to Open Table. They were ready for us and brought out spectacular salads within a few minutes. We were even able to sit and talk after eating and did not have to rush. Great pre or post theater spot, not crowded or noisy"
