Diner Reviews
  • "We recently celebrated a special event with dear friends. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, meals and dessert. Josh, the waiter, was very nice and helpful. Friends had just as nice an experience as we did...strongly recommend."

  • "this place isn't quite for foodies, it's for when you're craving a really good steak -- especially after a broadway show. the overall experience was great, but otherwise i can't picture going to times square for dinner given the crowds, etc. still, if you're in the area for another occasion, i definitely recommend this place as one of the best in the theater district."

  • "The service and attentiveness of the staff at this Palm is always outstanding, they are friendly and engaging unlike other steakhouses i have been to, and the steaks are always great. The wine list is reasonable and they will work with you to find something to fit the budget and/or you tastes. Have never had a bad meal/wine or evening at this Palm."

  • "The food is consistently excellent, and the service is outstanding. At our table, the following items could not have been better: 5 pound lobsters, veal parmesan, grilled salmon, crab cakes, NY strip steak, cheese cake and carrot cake."

  • "Awesome night out. Our waiter, Armando, really made our night special. The food was great, the beer and wine hit the spot. The location to the theater was priceless. Everything lined up perfectly. Our reservations we spot on, and the staff was super friendly. I had previously eaten at the Palm in LA and thought we would try the NYC West location. Home Run!"

  • "Delicious! They were very accommodating, sat us early when we arrived prior to or reservation. The service was outstanding, the food was very good. Only issue we have was that the burgers for our boys were overcooked."

  • "Everything was great...food, service atmosphere; we sat in a booth so don't know if it was noisier in the main dining room."

  • "From the hostess to Salem our waitor they made it easy to be in and out in order to make our 7pm curtain call We were never rushed and enjoyed dinner."

  • "Is my answer if ever asked to return to The Palm west side. My daughters and I were more of an inconvenience than customers, maybe if I were wearing my Louboutans and carrying my Chanel. The food was fair but certainly not worth the price. Bottom line it's the only $223 spent inNYC that I wish I could get back. The manager was apologetic but only after I'd paid and sought him out. No rounding of dining room while we were eating."

  • "A good steak house and sides, lobster was dry and tasteless along with saute shrimp and key lime pie was dried out and old. my bill for 1 adult and a 14 year old child was 260.00 and 60.00 tip total 310.00 I could have ate the same in a diner, service was good but sorry to say food was horrible"

  • "I love the Palm, but this was a bad experience. Appetizer served wrong (no big deal). Each entree at table was a different version of lobster surf and turf. Each lobster was paired with wrong steak. You couldn't switch plates because the lobster on another plate was paired with another person's steak. My real issue is they only offered free coffee or dessert to correct. I picked The Palm because I wanted a high quality restaurant that wasn't too intimidating because of who I was with. I was celebrating my dad's 60th birthday. The manager took care of it in the end, but I'm surprised he didn't appear earlier I would have rather paid and had great food and service."

  • "The meat was ok, not memorable. The online menu gave 'hamburger' as an option, but when we got there, we were told they were no longer serving that at the table (I presume in favor of forcing people to pick the higher priced stakes). I will say the waiter was gracious when confronted with my contained but obvious disappointment. Overall, I think there must be better ways to spend $60 per person for a stake in NY."

  • "... then don't treat customers as though they are only gong to get what is left in the kitchen. I made an 11P reservation at the Palm which I had happily been to many times before, and had a very disappointing dining experience. The rib-eye was the thinnest I had ever received at a top notch steak house, super market thin! Other minor kitchen requests were ignored. While service was pleasant, patient and professional, the actual dinner was below par. IF a restaurant takes an11P reservation, those clients are paying the same prices as the 8P clients and should be offered the same level of service. All told, a sorry dining experience at what I had thought of as a reliable, first class NYC staple."

  • "Had dinner with a client and the meal was first class as per usual. The icing on the cake was my favorite 30 yr port wine being available!"

  • "Our server was great. The Caeser salad was fresh and tastee. The sea bass was excellent. The filet was good. The bone in Ribeye was good but a bit over cooked."

  • "I had an early dinner (3:15pm reservation) at the Palm on a Saturday afternoon. I had never been there before, and I didn't know about the caricature drawings adorning all the walls, which makes the ambiance at the Palm something special (and also helps pass the time when you are waiting for your food :-)). The steaks are something special too! I had the NY strip, medium rare, and it was excellent -- flavorful and perfectly done. My friend had the filet mignon, which he called 'melt-in-the-mouth' delicious. All our food was well-prepared and delicious. I would recommend leaving room for dessert: The flourless chocolate cake is delicious served with a raspberry sauce and creme anglaise, which our waiter described as 'a little bit of heaven.'"

  • "I have been going to the Palm for many years and while the quality of the food continues to be first rate, I have noticed significant price creep over the last year. $4 for an orange juice (non alchol) , $12 for 2 sliders and a handful of fries, is a bit much. Service continues to be top notch but food $ value is starting to deteriorate."

  • "We were a group of nine, including two twelve years olds, and were heading right across the street for Wicked. This was a perfect location and delicious food. We have been here many times before and are always equally pleased with the steaks as well as the best lamb chops and seared Ahi. Loved the oysters with the Atomic horseradish, fried onions a must, mashed potatoes with goat cheese to die for! Our server Tracy, was fantastic. She was in tune to the kids, the teens and the adults and she was very helpful with two of us who needed gluten free choices. The Palm is always a perfect choice!"

  • "Hello, we went to the Palm before our show of seeing The Book of Mormon. The hostess was very welcoming when we arrived. Our server was ok, not overly friendly or acting like he wanted to be at his job that night. I like servers that engage in conversation a little more. The food (tho expensive) was very good. We had martini's as a drink, I had the sea bass and my husband had a fish meal also, daughter had beef. We shared some vegetable sides and they were all very good. Other than the cost, it was nice."

  • "My wife and i celebrated our 12th year anniversary in the same fashion when we fisrt started. The Palm is always a great palce to be in for the service, ambiance and most important their food. The wait staff is always pleasant and the food speaks for itself."

  • "Favorite place to have lunch, and martinis, with girlfriends - before seeing a Broadway show. Your wonderful restaurant never fails to make it a special event. Service is impeccable; drinks perfectly made; and absolutely scrumptious food!"

  • "I go to a lot of steak restaurants....I think Palm has a great cut of meat. Service is friendly and helpful too unlike some steak places. Not a hip place but not old and stodgy either."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "Recommended if going to the theater in low 50's. Although I don't like a heavy meal prior to sitting at a show, The Palm is great for grabbing a salad or other light option. Service can't be beat, you can hear your table companions, and get in and out without a hassle."

  • "Having lunch before seeing a Broadway Show...we didn't order drinks and we only ordered salads.....they became uninterested and indifferent......after giving us our salads, they never checked back to see if we needed anything.....terrible service.....my ahi tuna was not very good....one of the pieces was fishy (yes, I know tuna is a fish but it is not suppose to taste fishy). All in all this was an unpleasant experience."

    Dined on 2/25/2014
  • "The food was not spectacular, but good. The waitress was absolutely fantastic, and really made this evening out stellar! Ambiance was what you might expect of a Broadway eatery - famous names on the wall and all. Steak was good, but it's really hard to hurt a good cut of beef."

  • "This is the 3rd time I have been to the Palm. Whenever we are in the city, this is my go to place! Love it!"
