Diner Reviews
  • "Personally I find the noise deafening and detracting from an otherwise pleasant dining experience. We went for my husband's birthday and arrived before a basketball game started. The place was packed and the noise was unbelievable. The staff was wonderful and they moved us to a slightly quieter and less cramped table as soon as it came available. But the pounding headache detracted from the meal and for that much money, you can get a very good steak elsewhere in Los Angeles."

  • "our waiter, Courtney, was very energetic and very informative. and happy."

  • "Palm always is reliable, however, food was a little bit dry."

  • "The lobster is true to size and delicious. A little disappointed on the rib-eye with too much fat to my personal taste. The clam chowder, wild mushrooms and crème bulle are excellent!"

  • "Filet was tender. Lobster on top of filet was better than the 3#er we split! but still good. Garlic leaf spinach and fried onion strings are classic along with exceptional selection of bread w good wine..."

  • "Service was great from the moment we approached the hostess desk. We arrived at 5:15 and had 5:30 reservations. We let them know we would wait for the rest of our party in the bar, which they advised was no problem "just let us know when you are ready for your table". The bar was lively and the service was very good. When we were seated for dinner the sevice was great and the food was delicious...crab cake was so yummy and the ahi tuna out of this world. Salads were "so,so". The folks at our table who had steaks loved them. Overall we had a great time and we would all go back!!!!"

  • "Palm is consistent and good. You get what you would expect with no surprises - which is a good thing! Great steaks and great traditional sides that go with them. Attentive but not imposing service."

  • "This is our "go to" birthday place because it has something for everyone's taste and the quality of food is always consistent. Best steaks in the world and the lobsters are gigantic and flavorful. Drinks are good and deserts are generous portions and delicious."

  • "Out standing as usual. I have never been disappointed and I'm a frequent bustier to this restaurant."

  • "Came to this restaurant for special celebration for both us and decided to eat lobster it was major disappointment we order a 3 pound lobster and it was not meaty. Don't get fool to see a long big lobster is not meaty at all!! I have been at la prime in downtown and at Delmonico in encino their lobster is meaty and less expensive."

  • "steaks are always prepared to perfection its my favorite place to get a great steak."

  • "The Gigi's salad is incredible and the steak was good but the asparagus fritti was great. The service was very good."

  • "You would think that all locations of The Palm would be the same, but they are not. The menu and preparation downtown is a bit different than West Hollywood. The lettuce wedge salad had fried onions on it and the bone in rib steak tasted good, but looked like a piece of meat that had been run over by a truck. On a Monday night, there were about six tables in use."

  • "The waitress told us that the reason that the restaurant hadn't been full was because the Lakers aren't winning. However, one has to ask the question as to why the food which was really mediocre is so expensive. Also the wine list is so so but also over priced. It would seem that the Palm wants to rest on its past as a kind of power restaurant without keeping up with the times in that there are now so many new and much hipper restaurants downtown that provide diners with more options. Maybe the management should ask itself about bringing in new chef's, making the menu more exciting, having better wines available and all at a lower more competitive price."

  • "We had six for an early dinner before the Kings hockey game. Our service was excellent and everyone was very attentive eventhough they knew most people in the restaurant were on a short time frame. The food was better than ever. Everything was cooked to perfection and served in a timely fashion."

  • "Lobster salad was amazing, service was excellent from checkin with host to the last plate being served. Great for late lunch when it's not really crowded."

  • "What a great meal! The Palm is usually reliable, but sometimes the kitchen seems to have an off-day or you get a server who isn't the best. The dinner we had tonight was spectacular in every respect!"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "The only bad part about this restaurant is that it has valet parking and after 3 hours the price more than doubles which limits your dining."

  • "Our go-to pre-game favorite. Great food, excellent service(thank you Carl!) and great wine list too. Never disappoints and always gets us in and out on time."

  • "Dinner was very good, shrimp Cocktail was excellent but presentation could be enhanced. Steaks were very good, had a NY strip steak that was cooked perfectly."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "Love the 3 course business lunch-great options, enough variety for everyone in your party. In addition, you can still order from a full lunch menu is 3 courses is too much for you."

  • "We booked a table before the Laker game for dinner. Our table was ready onetime and the waiter timed the dinner so we were finished about 20 minutes before the start of the game. The food and service were outstanding. We both had surf and turf. Man, what a meal!!!!"

  • "You just can't beat the quality and service of this vine dinning restaurant. Casual but the most outstanding for food and great service. The steaks are to die for, cooked perfectly and the quality is top tier. Best place for a steak or lobster dinner in Los Angeles or any where in the US The service team lead by Yacheck and Alex is over the top. this is a must go to restaurant while your in Los Angeles"

  • "I've gotta tell you--when the Palm is *on*, they are an unbelievably good restaurant. And our lunch here was one of those meals. Everything that came out of the kitchen was perfectly prepared and delicious. The service was spot-on, and the prices at lunch are a veritable bargain compared to dinner time. The place wasn't very busy, and I couldn't understand why--I'd each lunch here several times a week if I lived or worked close enough. Keep up the great work, Palm!"

  • "My husband & I attend Clipper games frequently & have always wanted to try the Palms. From the moment you walk in you are treated special. The staff is very attentive, excellent customer service. The food was amazing... Of course dessert was to die for. If you are in LA I would highly recommend. P.s. the place is a little pricey but worth so worth it!"

  • "Haven't been here in years....but just as great as I remember. Had a very nice late night dinner with a small group. The server was very attentive, explanined the specials in detail, made suggestions and the food was delish! The lambchops were the best -- as was the creamed spinach!"

  • "Had a wonderful dinner with my fiance before crossing the street and spending the next 2 1/2 hours with George Strait. Doesn't get any better."
    Dined on 2/8/2014
  • "As usual the food was great! The place was rocking busy which kept our server a little to busy, thus leaving us waiting for various items as dinner progressed. We were seated upstairs which was like sitting in a warehouse with tables and the noise level up there is incredible as the noise from the downstairs combined with the upstairs is so loud you almost can't hear your friends at the same table talking. The only questionable item was the bread. It was like something you get at a cheesy Italian place. We asked for pretzel bread but what we got was frozen in the middle an inedible. But yes, I will still return and I will still recommend the Palm to anyone that will listen as the food overcomes any small failure such as bread!"

  • "My steak was dry and tough. Not much flavor either. I had to use my salt shaker a lot. I've never had to do that at a premium steak place before. Very disappointing. Will not go back. Maybe try something else besides the steak if you go there. Sad. I'm recommending you not order steak at this steakhouse. If you want to be sure you get a good steak, do not go to Palm."

  • "Had another great dinner at The Palm last night. Our waiter, Paul was attentive and sharp! The food was perfect. Great lobster and the steak was cooked exactly the way I requested. The General Manager greeted us upon arrival. You can tell that this restaurant is very well run and the attention to every detail is evident!"

  • "Service was awful. We had a table of 10, they brought us one basket of bread, without butter, after waiting 45minutes. Food was ok, not great, had a better steak the week before at Arroyo Chop House. We were put in a back table and essentially ignored for most of our lunch. The waiter was pleasant but it seemed like they were down staff or unprepared. Not a fine dining experience."

  • "We dine at The Palm regularly, especially before Staples Center events. This visit, traffic was terrible getting down and we called ahead to let the guys know we'd be late. Not only did they hold our table, but they greeted us with our favorite drinks and assured us we'd still make the game on time, which of course we did. Dinner was still great, as was the service and we knew wen we left why we always return. These guys take great care of you and serve some of the best food around."
