It was very good and so I went back for lunch during the day and Ambrocia the waiter asked me to join the club. So I did and then I took my wife and she loved it, we had a great time and it was so easy making the reservation on open table. The Dallas Palm was a very welcome opening and we have been eating here since then. There were a few years when they violated their long policy of promoting from within, bringing in a snob from the Dallas scene. The real treat was our waiter John, who I believe has 14 years with the Palm. He was warm, inviting and knowledgeable. It was one of the only "nice" restaurants open on a Sunday. We wanted to enjoy downtown Dallas on a Sunday, including an event at the Majestic Theater early evening and The Palm was one of very few "nice" restaurants that was open, would take our reservation (thank you OpenTable) and provide the quality of food, wait staff and ambience required for a celebration like ours. Also, their caesar salad is always great and you have to get the hash brown potatoes. The last few times we have been ordering the calamari which is great with the addition of fried sweet peppers. Did not feel I was having a fine dining lobster once my waitress said my lobster was a frozen one and after it was prepared, it was overdone. Slightly rubbery. For $56? I couldn't believe that. We were already there and I have some diet restrictions, so I didn't have too much more to choose from and didn't want to buy lobster by the pound. However my kids and husband enjoyed their dinners quite well. The bread pudding was to die for. Best I've ever tasted! Dining area needs a thourough cleaning. The Palm in Dallas is a fun spot and is quite different from others in that it is located in a tourist destination. Whenever we go, we ask, "why do we not come here more often?" We always have a wonderful dinner at this location.
