  • "Always a pleasure to dine at The Palm! The food from appetizers to desert are always outstanding."

  • "You walkin, you're greeted with a smile. You're seated immediately, service is great, with smiles on their faces, food is great, desert the best! Try their carrot cake! Then try their cheese cake! Now you're full and for sure you'll leave with a little Palm shopping bag filled with goodies. And when you're ready to leave, they say thank you and please come back to visit! Not too many establishments know what the meaning of thank you means! This restaurant is highly recommended! Great experience, great food, great service! Great team!!!"

  • "We live in St. Louis but have been to Palm's in New York, Dallas, and each visit to Chicago. One our previous visit we had one of the best meals of our lives, but this time, the order was wrong, then the steak was overcooked, and the Lobster special was not very special. It is not likely we will have the Chicago Palm on our dining list on our next trip."

  • "My wife loves the French Martini (especially if Mike ) Kelly is a fantastic server ! Both of our steaks were outstanding. I had a 14 ounce bone in filet."

  • "Good food, but the service was awful! Our waitress kept rubbing her nose and touching our food and glasses. She also brought the wrong wine and said it was what we ordered. She didn't look like she wanted to be there. My husband tipped her well, but she did not deserve it. The restraunt was pricey, but lacked the elegance to go with it. I would recommend it, but don't wear you Sunday finest."

  • "Service: Great service at the start, well informed server. After food was delivered we did not see the server until we flagged them down to pay the bill. On a food note: cottage fries- what were decribed as cottage fries(usually these are wedges of potatoes fried or baked) ended up being house made potatoe chips - not what we were expecting and really not great. Atmoshpere: Booths are not comfortable."

  • "Our waiter was disinterested in us and spoke down to us. He spoke fast and seemed in an annoyed hurry even though the restaurant was not busy - only 5 tables had diners. When I told him that my steak was not done (I asked for med well and it was rare in some areas) he asked to throw it back on the grill, but I was fed up at that time so I said no - he did not offer other options nor did he send the manager over. HORRIBLY DISAPPOINTED in the level of service for the per plate price."

  • "I come to the palm to have a whole 3Lbs Lobster. But on that night they ran out. They did have a lobster tail that was very good. But I come for the whole lobster. That’s why I go. It’s always cooked to perfection so I have to say because of that I was slightly disappointed. I also forgot to add that to my 837 club card as well. But other than that, I enjoy coming to the palm. Great food and great service every time I’ve been there."

  • "I sent my wife and daughter on a girls trip to Chicago as booked them dinner at the Palm. I included a note on the Open Table reservation asking them to take care of my girls. From the hostess that greeted them when they arrived to Lana their waitress to the manger oh brought them free dessert. The entire staff made my gals feel like queens. Next time we are in Chicago, we will definitely go visit them again. Oh, and the food was great too!"

  • "Everyone at The Palm was very helpful and friendly. We were celebrating our anniversary and when we were sitted at our table we had a note card wishing us a Happy Anniversary from the staff. It was a nice gesture. Everything was wonderful. The Palm is a great restaurant to celebrate a special occasion."

  • "Food was excellent. Filet done perfectly, lobster delicious. Many great appetizer choices. Service started very strong, but slipped a bit after dining room began to fill. Still, overall service good. Beer was warm. Only real disappointment was seating. Made reservation well in advance, requested booth. Spoke with restaurant days before on confirmation call and reiterated request for booth. Told no problem. Arrived on time. Male host dismissive and told me it was Valentines Day. Thanks! That's why I was there and made reservations and followed up request. We got seated at a small table on the second floor. So 1 weak host had an impact, but we shook it off and enjoyed a great meal."

  • "Food and service were good…not great. Way overpriced! Will not return. The Palm is at the bottom of our list for steak houses."

  • "A totally mediocre dinner from beginning to end. The only positive comment I can make is that the servers were excellent. Everything else was most disappointing. Find some place better to spend your precious dollars."

  • "Ive been to a lot of steakhouses in Chicago, this was the worst experience ever, the food was average at best and I hate to complain, but it was just the worst experience. The service was horrible the waitress had excuses for everything she did wrong and overall on what should be a special night Valentines Day, The Palm restaurant made it one that I want to forget. Its over priced compared to all the restaurants that are better than it. If you ever find yourself wanting to eat downtown Chicago and can't find a reservation and this place opens up just go to McDonalds you'll be better off. I wouldn't go back if they paid me, and if someone is reading this and just thinks this is a person who likes to complain thats not the case, it was bad"

  • "We are from a small town in Indiana. We decided to celebrate our 30th Valentine anniversary in Chicago in spite of a horrific snow storm. We had made our reservations in January know the downside of being wed on Valentines day 30 years ago. Every anniversary is a double celebration for us. Luckily we only fought the snow for half of the adventure. The Swissotel and The Palm were worth the drive."

  • "A group of friends and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day together at The Palms ... We made a reservation but had to wait for another 45 minutes ... Food wasn't enjoyable and came out incorrectly. The wine selection wasn't great nor were the cocktails ..."

  • "Our waitress had only been employed for one month, knew her menu and gave us superb service! The clams oreganata were very tasty, especially if you dunk the bread in the dish! Try it, you'll enjoy. We requested a booth, which we can sit at for hours during lunch and have a relaxing, comforting conversation without feeling we are bothering others."

  • "I have been going to the Palm for years and have never been disappointed. Beginning with a pair of absolutely consummate bartenders who can make any drink on the planet perfectly. The food is always great. This time I had the clams oreginato which were delicious. Then for dinner I had the bone in rib eye and my son had the t bone. The steaks are always prepared perfectly and to be honest, this is without question my favorite steak place. Sides were fries and spinach and for desert carrot cake which is the size of a dictionary and wonderful. I love this place because it has such a comfortable atmosphere and every time I dine here it feels like a special occasion."

  • "Our server Cresenci was great. The crab cake appetizer was delicious. I had the bone in Ribeye perfectly cooked. My friend had the bone in Filet, also top notch. The sides were also very good 3 cheese au gratin and green beans. The cheesecake was a great finish to the meal."

  • "Very good service to be expected for a quality steak restaurant in the heart of Chicago. Quality steakhouse staples like the porterhouse are to be expected and the veggies were also done well. Came here for dinner, right in the Swisshotel and near the Hyatt for convenience."

  • "Great for easy access at the Swissotel after a long day of traveling. Wish meals came with a side. Never been much of a fan of total alacarte. Nice ambiance, terrific wait staff, excellent wine list and food,. Was able to get a reservation 2 days before and we were able to enjoy a leisurely meal and to linger over coffee without being rushed. Will definitely return for another visit next time we stay at the Swissotel. Probably would not cross town to eat there. Plenty of equally vood and superior restaurants downtown."

  • "I enjoy the Palm experience for both the food as well as the service attitude. On this occasion I wanted to treat some old friends to that experience. The manager sensed upon our arrival that we'd benefit from a special table and rearranged seating to place us in a quiet area away from the active younger scene. The food is consistently good at the Palm and though this was my first time at the Chicago Palm I got exactly what I expected and desire from all Palm locations: friendly engaging servers and staff, and a great meal."

  • "We were on a tight schedule as we needed to get to the Theater. Our servers got us in and out without making us feel rushed. Food was great! Must have the Lobster Bisque, it was very flavorful and light."

  • "The Palm is a great restaurant but expensive. Also, this last visit the 24 ounce steak looked like a 12 oz steak. I guess the other restaurants that I frequent have been very generous with their 24 oz steaks. Otherwise, the taste of all of our food was very good. I will go back, but not too soon. It is a luxury for me to dine at the Palm."

  • "Nothing overly fantastic or noteworthy, but a good meal. We had the typical steakhouse meal (wedge, filet, and sides), which was executed well."

  • "I belong to s social club which likes to experience fine dining and great service. The Palm is a go to spot for me as well as when I want to impress a large group of people. Most of my guests had never been to The Palm so I talked it up quite a bit beforehand. Everything from the food to the service was top notch, you guys really knocked it out of the park and my guests feedback confirmed this sentiment. Thank you, Steve, Nicole and the rest of your staff it was such a great evening."

  • "Great New Years Eve experience! We had the New York Porterhouse for two. It was unbelievable. I am still thinking about it. We first received it slightly under for our taste. Without any compromise to the food, someone came out and brought it back to perfection. The steak was really good. I liked the ambience, it had a cool vibe. We also tried the Palm Refresh, a great drink. Overall everything was done with a touch of class, the customer service, ambience, the drinks. You could tell that they hold their quality to a high standard."

  • "So we were at the Palm for new years eve dinner. I couldn't get reservation for the other good places that I know of...so thought I will give this place a shot. Ambience was good and that was the only thing that we liked. Everything else was terrible...poor service, awful food quality just to name a few...every time we ordered a bottle of wine it was 25-30 mins wait. Our fillet mignon was over cooked which totally ruined the evening...we didn't want to create a scene on new years eve so we ate whatever we ordered anyway...Food is pricey so we expected better quality. ..never going to go back there..Also I will not recommend this place to anyone."

  • "This was our first time to Chicago and we wanted to have a very special New Year's eve dinner. Based on reviews and the menus on Open Table I selected The Palm. It was the perfect choice! Everything was incredible. Our table had a magnificient view of the Navy Pier. As we watched the snow fall we enjoyed an amazing dinner. Our server Anthony was very helpful in making recommendations from the wine list and menu. He was professional and yet friendly and made our experience fun. The food was flavorful, well presented and was one of the best dinners we have enjoyed. The sea bass was absolutely amazing and the steak was grilled to perfection. Save room for the cheesecake even if you have to take it to go. The raspberry sauce was fantastic!"

  • "Chicago has so many great steakhouses that the place has to be good just to stay in business. It's hard to go wrong with any of them, but The Palm ranks right up near the top on any list. Food is great; service is great. The Palm has a private room that works great for groups of 10-12 or less. The location (in the Swisshotel) creates a very nice drive up and drop facility."

  • "Great post opera experience after a long wait for a cab. We needed a drink and was promptly served. The food as usual was excellent y wife ordered veal and I had Salmon. The au gratin potatoes and the creamed spinach were excellent. The service was very good. We skipped dessert as we were having dessert at another hotel."
