Diner Reviews
  • "We had rose petals on our table with a birthday card. Server and manager came and wished my hubby a "happy birthday". Food was excellent. Service was exceptional. Staff was friendly, yet professional."

  • "Fantastic food, great service and some of the best views of Elliott Bay. It is one of my go-to places when folks are in from out of town."

  • "A friend and I went to dinner on Thursday night and had a very pleasant experience! We waited just a few minutes to be seated and our waiter came by pretty immediately to ask if we had been in before and if we were interested in drinks. He also asked if we were in a time brunch which I thought was thoughtful. We ordered off the 3 course menu for restaurant week and the timing of our food was good--probably about 10 minutes in between each course. The best part was definitely the dessert---we ordered a flour less chocolate cake which was rich but good, and a white chocolate raspberry bread pudding with rose ice cream which was absolutely divine. All in all a positive experience and well worth the 28 dollars. "

  • "Took advantage of Seattle restaurant week to try out this place and we were very satified with our experience. Everything was exceptional from the food to service. The regular lunch menu selection aside from the Seattle restaurant week menu offers a variety of items for a great price! We definitely will recommend this place to our friends and family and of course planning on coming back in the near future!"

  • "The surroundings are perfectly done from the stream running through it to the perfectly decorated space. It is a stunning experience both day and night with the amazing view of Seattle out of the window! The food was beautifully prepared and presented. And very yummy too!"

  • "Views of the city & marina can be spectacular. The quality of the entrees has been mediocre recently. Smoked chicken salad was very under-dressed & the very large spinach leaves detracted from the salad, which had very little chicken in it. The squash risotto was gummy, with very little squash and very little flavor. I actually wanted to add salt which I never do. On the positive side, the crab rolls were excellent, beautifully made with tiny ruby red caviar adding to the appeal. The desserts were excellent: white chocolate bread pudding was moist & had just enough chocolate, along with the lovely sauce & small scoop of ice cream which complemented both. Perhaps a better idea for the next visit would be coffee and dessert. "

  • "My husband and I and his three sister with their spouse had a lovely lunch at Palisades. Good food, great service and super view. We get together several times a year and do so appreciate not being rushed as we all want to catch up with each other. We will be back!"

  • "Very nice menu for Rest. Week. Food and service was excellent."

  • "We really enjoyed the atmosphere and view from our table. The service was very friendly and we truly appreciated that all the wait staff helps your table, not just the assigned server. The only thing we were not so impressed with was the food. Flavor seemed to be lacking in the pork shank, the gratin had too much mustard powder and the bread pudding is served at or below room temperature. Really was expecting higher quality and flavor at this restaurant."

  • "So I came here for an anniversary dinner with the lady. When making my reservation I requested a bottle of wine at the table at our arrival. Not only was the exact bottle sitting at our table(which offered an amazing view), they went a step further and had rose petals and a happy anniversary note at the table when we sat down, which really added a nice touch. Our server, John I think(I'm awful with names) was amazing from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and helpful. The dinner itself certainly wasn't cheap, but it was in line with what I was expecting, and portions were very large compared with other upscale restaurants. All of the food came out good to great, and the menu has a lot of varied options. "

  • "Took daughter and son-in-law during Seattle Restaurant week for a treat for all of us. Had choice of three appetizers, three entrees and three deserts. All were yummy and beautifully presented. Also imbibed in the house cocktail, a lavender concoction, it was delicious. Overlooks a large marina with views across the water at downtown Seattle"

  • "Went for lunch. Ended up being Restaurant Week so we had the fixed menu. Amazing with larger portions than most Restaurant Week restaurants. Food was fabulous, I have already recommended to family and friends!"

  • "Had heard good things from friends and decided to try as part of Seattle Restaurant Week. While the overall experience and service was good, it took 3 tries to get my wife's steak right. Very nice about it and ultimately comp'd her meal, but not sure we'd go back. Over all vive was a bit too "old" sedate. Probably best for a special occasion place vs getting out for a good time."

  • "Palisades is a beautiful restaurant. You can't beat the view! Food is great. Our server was charming. My only complaint is the hostesses were not friendly and engaging and I felt put off by them. But once I got past them, the experience was wonderful."

  • "As usual, Palisade puts on quote a spread. There is something for everybody here. Yes, it is expensive, but certainly worth it for that special occasion. And what a view! We had brunch here to celebrate our anniversary, and it was, indeed, a special occasion."

  • "We come because our 3 year old loves to feed the fish but food was just barely acceptable. My salmon tartare was good but the rest big disappointment. My sirloin steak was over cooked and tasted more like saw dust :-( My wife's salad and main course was acceptable. We were seated over 30 min late on a Sunday night. The stress from restaurant week showed all night. This place was living off its beautiful view tonight."

  • "It was my first time there and honestly, because of the reviews and the price tag of the restaurant, I expected quality. The food was not the issue. I really enjoyed it. However, our waiter took forever, did not give us our break basket, did not light the candle on our table (tables adjacent to us were all lit by sensible waiters)-the transitions between meals was horrible, he took awhile with our check (I saw him chatting with the bartender) and he just seemed lost. I grew impatient and the food was overshadowed by the awful experience. I will never be back and I can honestly say, as God as my witness, I've had better, more attentive/ professional service at the Red Robins. Shame."

  • "Palisades is a pearl, tucked near the shores of the Puget Sound. The food is delicious, the service outstanding and the atmosphere, romantic."

  • "Nice environment n atmosphere. Food is overwhelmed and too heavy. I prefer my fillet mignon to look clean other than too heavy with too many heavy mushroom with dark sticky sauce, stirfry baby pakchow under fillet mignon n deep fry mashed sweet potato 4 round as the size of little bit smaller than pingpong balls. Alpetizer manila clam has good asian red sauce but very heavyfor appetizer. Shrimp cocktail is good. Kids menus steak n grilled chicken are awesome. Lemon creme brulee taste not good.Vanilla is awesome. Cocktail guavarita is good although not enough liquor. Overall this restaurant is good for scenery, not thefood anymore. Not one of my fav restaursnt anymore."

  • "We enjoyed a lovely dinner with attentive staff and excellent views. Everything we ate was delicious and my daughter now wants to come back for her 7th birthday party (though I'm not sure that is going to happen)!"

  • "Hadn't been here in ages, forgot the quality of service and food here - and the view! Perfect even on a partly cloudy day. Definitely make reservations as soon as you know it will be sunny to as I'm sure this place gets packed. Only downer was that we got there super early (about 40 minutes early) to have drinks in the bar and requested a window table and we still got put on the second level far away from the window."

  • "This is by far my favorite restaurant in all categories. I would say the food is OUTSTANDING. Love the promotion weeks... Burgers, fish & chips are faves on that fixed priced menu for 3 entrees for lunch. Can't beat the quality for $15. Family, friends, co-workers, and Out of town guests love it here. Best to make reservations."

  • "Tried Palisade for the Seattle Restaurant Week deal. The cold pea soup was just that -- tasted like peas, but it was refreshing and light, which was good for a starter. The duo of tartares was rich and a personal favorite. Entrees were solid and a sizable portion. We could barely make through half of dessert, but the bread pudding was excellent, and the passionfruit cheesecake -- while a bit one-note and mild on the passionfruit, was still delicious. Overall the food was good, and the view was top notch. There was a bit of a wait between our appetizer and our entrees though. Still, the staff were very attentive despite our reservation being at a late hour. As the title says -- everything was executed well but not spectacularly."

  • "I went to Palisade for the first night of restaurant week. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and fast and the view was beautiful. Palisade is my favorite restaurant in Seattle and that opinion is confirmed every time I eat here!"

  • "View from the restaurant is spectacular. Service was extremely attentive without being over the top. Lots of little details that made celebrating an anniversary here excellent. Best service I've ever had for an "occasion" I've informed the venue of in advance. Food was very good - but a little confusing. Maybe it's just me, but my Mahi Mahi was "Well Done" and on a bed of very spicy kimchee (think 3-4 stars) and very flavorful mushrooms. Usually, I'd expect it to be seared and on a bed of complementary, yet understated, flavors. My date had the lobster. It was delicious - though I've no comparison as neither of us had ever had lobster before! The crab cakes were tasty, though soggy. And the flourless chocolate torte? Best I've ever had."

  • "I noted this was a birthday celebration through my Open Table reservation. We arrived to a "Happy Birthday" card and rose petals on the table... very nice touch! The sushi appetizer was very fresh and well prepared. My sister was very happy with her chicken. My steelhead had a nice crisp on one side yet stayed moist and delicate. Beautiful! The vanilla rose ice cream was a perfect finish to a special outing... fragrant flavor, a gorgeous pink color... special. The views are world-class. I would happily return."

  • "My parents were in town and I brought them here for a belated birthday celebration. I had reservations and the check in process was super quick. We were able to be seated almost immediately. My dad is very hard of hearing, but he was able to hear quite well despite the open seating plan. Our server took a lot of time to go over the menu and explain the restaurant week offerings. She checked on us frequently and was very pleasant and attentive. The view of the Seattle evening skyline was gorgeous. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. My parents were very pleased with the whole thing and we all would return for dinner and recommend it to friends."

  • "The food and service were excellent. My wife had the risotto and I had the seafood trio. She said it was the best she had ever tasted. (We have eaten at many Seattle area Italian restaurants.) The trio plate was prepared with a very subtle sauce so as not to over power the fresh and perfectly cooked seafood. Our server was totally professional in that she recognized the privacy we wanted yet appeared and disappeared at just the right moments. I only had to look up and she knew her presence was needed. My wife had a martini and I a Mai Tai. Both drinks were strong but allowed the flavor of the mixers to sweeten the drinks just right. Previously, I have dined alone for the "boiled seafood in a bucket" feast. Best dinner I have experienced."

  • "I took my boyfriend here to celebrate his promotion in the Army. The staff gave us a table with an amazing view of the Marina and put rose pedals on our table. We started with the crab and lobster dip which was delicious, however the kitchen staff needs to be a little more careful about shells. I got a mouth full of crab shell. The main course I had no complaints about. YUM!"

  • "The food was great...of course. But we eat out at a lot of fine restaurants with great food. What was truly exceptional was the attentiveness of our waiter, and that the staff had prepped our table with rose petals and a special card because I noted in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary. And even though we made the reservation that morning requesting a table with a view, they made sure we were right by the window overlooking the marina. A fabulous dining experience. We will definitely be back."

  • "We had my mothers 89th birthday at Palisade and I was extremely disappointed in just about everything but the view. The food was terrible. The prime rib was gristly and did not taste good at all. The other items were soggy and not flavorful. The only decent item was the omelets, but lacking in toppings. Our server was atrocious! He only came once in a while and did not return with our drinks. He brought out my moms birthday cake with candle lit while we were not at the table! I had to watch the Birthday song on video! Very disappointing. He charged us full price for 2 small children. $46 instead of $12 and the Manager said it was standard practice to charge full price for everyone and change it if someone says something. BAD PRACTICE!"
