OK ... it's true: part of the experience is the spectacular location and the architecturally interesting building. But brunch should be about choice and food -- and at Palisade, it is! Since its tasteful modest renovation, the size of the already impressive buffet has been greatly expanded. It would be impossible for a mortal to sample all of the options, but we gave it a valid try. The seafood is especially good with diverse Sushi, Steelhead, cold choices (oysters, crab, shrimp) and wonderful green curry razor clams. But the other options range from more traditional (silver dollar pancakes, ham and/or a bespoke omelet) to the more lunch-like (pesto pasta with mild salami, prime rib, etc.). Equally diverse choices of desserts.

This is a restaurant that truly deserves a 4 star rating. Both the service and the food were outstanding. The view is spectacular and this restaurant has a large indoor water feature with steelhead swimming in it. A great place both for a romantic dinner for two or wonderful dining for larger parties.

I came here to celebrate my boyfriend's (belated) 21st birthday and the service and experience the restaurant had was one of the best I've seen. When we got seated, we found that our table was decorated with rose petals and a little card that said "Happy 21st birthday!" and it was honestly the cutest thing we've ever seen. We ordered a roll as our appetizer, and the scallops and seafood trio as our entrees. If you come here the seafood is a must-have because I loved the seafood trio dish which had scallops, king salmon and shrimp which was enough to fill me up. We also ordered the banana spice ice cream sundae and I don't even have words to describe how delicious that was and they even brought out the dessert with a candle on it.

I love going to Palisades, and we go there frequently. It is always a good meal, good service, and the ambiance and view are excellent. This last time the food fell a bit below my expectations, however. I had the pupu tower as my main course, and it was all good, but a bit dry. The crab cakes (3) had a bit of sauce under one, but the other two were sauce-less. The rice under the prawns was dry, but the teriyaki steak bits were very good. We still had a wonderful time, and overall great meal. But just not quite as excellent as usual. We are going again for lunch tomorrow... hopefully my usual high standards for this restaurant will be satisfied this time.

We went for the first time for our anniversary and it was good. It was not bad but I was expecting more. Service was terrible, about 15 minutes to get our drinks and never asked for a refill. Food was served fast but our waiter always seemed like he was in a hurry and left us unattended for long periods of time.

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and we done good by coming to Palisades. We have been here numerous times, but it had been awhile. We were not disappointed for sure. Everything was top notch. The entire experience was FANTASTIC! The service (Thomas), the ambiance, the scenery, the food, the dessert, the everything was as good as we could have imagined. This was a great way to spend a celebration of 34 years *so far* of being married to your soulmate. Thank you Palisades!

The bar drinks were great. The crab cake appetizer was dry and dull tasting. My husband's steak was very good, while the sides were just ok. My pork dish was mixed - pulled pork was good, pork tenderloin was dry. Sides were good. However the entire plate was sweet with barbeque sauce on all but the German-style potato salad. We have been several times before, but not for several years. We first noticed that the interior hadn't changed a bit. Yet the view was still incredible. In the past the food has always been spectacular. This visit the food was poor to just ok. That being said, the server was fantastic, and the manager was kind enough to hear our concerns about the crab cakes.

I can not believe it took me so long to get to Palisade! I heard about it for years but didn't go until my husband and I decided to try it for our anniversary. Everything about it was amazing! The physical space is beautiful. I loved the openness of the floor plan and I have never seen a pond run through the middle of a restaurant before. To top it off the food was AMAZING!!!! A lot of times when you go to nice restaurants like this you end up with what I call froufrou food--pretty but not very tasty. Not the case at Palisade. The food was absolutely delicious! To top it off they put rose petals and a cute note on the table and every person that greeted us--including the GM that came by--said "Happy Anniversary!" I definitely recommend it!

Judy and I had a very nice evening at the Palisade. The table was nicely decorated with rose petals, and a card wishing us a very happy anniversary. The view was pleasant, and the noise-level didn't offend my ear. Judy and I had no difficulty talking and enjoying each others' company. The staff were competent, striking a nice balance between friendly and over-attentive. The manager came around and congratulated those of us who were celebrating -- another nice touch. The food was very good, especially the desert -- flourless chocolate cake yum!

We love the overall setting, views, and service was good. The food was disappointing. Prime rib at medium rare was dry and overcooked, creamed spinach was lumpy, not creamy, and coldish. The bread/tomato/bean salad was very good but bread pudding was also dry and somewhat tasteless. We expect more from this restaurant, will give them one more try.

Atmosphere is great. Come at sunset, and you get a great either sunset or city view. Food is OK. That is, if you like to pay $50/head on avg, then everything is fine. But if you think that price should reflect somehow taste, then maybe this is overpriced. I personally ordered the pork, which is one of the distinctly cheaper items at under $30/plate. To be honest, your average BBQ stand sells better tasting food at a fraction of the price. On the service, I asked for oil & vinegar when we got our bread. We never got it, while the restaurant was maybe 50% capacity. The problem with a premium priced menu is that somehow you expect either premium food and/or service. When these don't follow, you are left wondering what you paid for.

We've eaten at Palisade a few times this past year since our son really enjoys it. But each time it has gotten a little worse. This past dinner was a celebration of 2 birthdays. A few of the people in the party enjoyed their dinners. But my wife and I did not enjoy our dinners much. The rice was barely warm and the crab was very fishy tasting. Oh, well.... We'll just continue to go to Daniel's Broiler, our favorite Seattle restaurant.

Every time I go to Palisade I start to get frustrated with the food quality for the price and the sales-focused wait staff. But then I remind myself to stop and remember why I came. It's about the utterly fabulous view!!! And they also do a nice job with special occasions (personal cards on table, rose petals, etc). It's not about the food (which is honestly so-so - my stuffed prawns were fishy tasting). And, you're paying for that view - you could get much better food and service for the money. The waiter was nice, but very focused on upselling the table to more of anything and everything. He did a nice job on wine recommendations. Service became a little slow at some points.

I live on Queen Anne, so Palisade is a convenient upscale dining option. I've enjoyed dining there a number of times, but my recent experience was unfortunate. Ten people at a table immediately adjacent to us constituted the loudest group I have ever experienced in a restaurant - and that's saying something! I have a hearing deficit to begin with, and try to choose restaurants where I have at least a fighting chance to hear others. I was with one other person, sitting right next to her, and was lucky to hear 20% of what she was saying. The management was very good about this, as they took drinks off our bill when I complained. In general, though, I think the food is too high-priced for the quality.
