  • "I really enjoyed my meal here, as did the other two members of my party. Despite it being busy, our food didn't take forever and was delicious. Expect the wait staff to just bring out a tray of desserts...they all looked so good. We couldn't say no. I got the carrot cake (AMAZING)."

  • "Went there wtih another couple for an evening to catch up, eat great food and drink good wine! Palio succeeded to deliver in all three areas. Had a wonderful time, the food was awesome all the way down to the pineapple upside down cake! Yum!"

  • "Really good authentic Italian food, great atmosphere, attention to detail. I will go back and tell friends about it."

  • "The staff was very nice and the food was very good. Their menus are on tablet mobile devices which is very nice. Each dish has a description, a picture, and a list of wines that have been paired with that specific dish. The food was served in a perfect amount of time, not too long, not too quick."

  • "Great place all around. It was crowded, but it was a Saturday night with lots of activity over the weekend. We had a party of 5 and everyone loved their meal. the only caution is most plates had tons of pepper. So if you don't like pepper, make sure to tell your server no pepper. Good service, and the prices were very reasonable."

  • "I dined early on Friday night with my parents and we all had a wonderful time despite the sleet outside. Palio was cozy and lively with attentive staff. My parents shared a green salad then each had the meat lasagna which they both said the sauce was wonderful. I had the chicken and mushrooms over pasta which was excellent. We did not have drinks and the bill was $60 for the 3 of us and we had some of our meal to bring home. A great place on a cold spring evening."

  • "Another successful evening at Palio. Food and service were both top notch. My husband and I don't visit Palios that often but always have a good time. This restaurant is worthy of being recommended to friends and family."

  • "The food is always excellent with a wide variety of choices. The service is terrific and we have a great time whether we go with a group or just a small table. The desserts are delicious and a must indulge whether sharing or having your own."

  • "If you like average Italian food, very basic, then this is your place. I asked for a glass of white wine and was delivered a red wine in a water glass. I prefer to use wine glasses for my wine. The food was fine, nothing special and just not a huge fan of Palio. Soooo many other great restaurants, why settle for Palio???"

  • "We went with a few friends and all were very satisfied. I recommend the pesto chicken, spiedini, salmon, lasagna and cheese tortelloni."

  • "This is our favorite Ann Arbor restaurant. For me, because they have wonderful gluten free options and pasta. For my husband, because he loves their Tiramisu !"

  • "I really like the food but only thing that was disappointing was ambience and wine in regular glass but apart from that everything was good."

  • "Looking for a place to eat on a Saturday night, went to Opentable to see what was available and found Palio which sounded good and had a table at the right time for us. I had a Caprese salad appetizer and it was very delicious. My wife and I had the grilled beef medallion served on spinach and grilled polenta with some fine-tasting yellow and red pepper sauce. My beef was done just right for my taste. The 2 medallions were just the right amount and I cleaned the whole plate! Service was good, food was served timely and still hot. Overall, we left very satisfied, foodwise and servicewise. Hope they keep it up because we will be back for sure!"

  • "The waiters/waitresses were extremely helpful in describing unfamiliar dishes and making recommendations. There were at least 3 different people helping us throughout our dining experience to take orders, remove dishes, and ensure glasses were full. When they brought out a dessert tray with all the options, it was really difficult to not order them all."

  • "Eating out with a group when I am treating is a splurge, but eating out at Palio's even though for me was a splurge, it was well worth it. Some higher end restaurants, the food looks skimpy on the plate and/or seems either 'batched' or a bit too processed. Palio's was neither of these; very generous servings, no short-cuts, and each bite flavorful. Never felt rushed and continuously cared for; water refills, containers to take food home in and accommodating to a late-comer to the meal. We'll definitely consider coming again!"

  • "My husband and I are big fans of the pasta and sauce options at Palio and frequently like to mix and match. The bolognese sauce is one of our favorites. I branched out and tried the pesto this time and was not disappointed. We will return, it is a family friendly restaurant with generous portions and tasty options."

  • "Always love going to Palio for the thick delicious pasta everyone always craves. The ambience is always rich and friendly. Good Italian restaurant, don't waste your time at Olive Garden."

  • "Palio's is a reliable place to go for lunch or dinner. Food is always good and the service is great. The roof top is wonderful and the sangria is amazing. For me the issue is that the menu needs updating. I can't put my finger on it, but it just is missing something and I don't understand why the roof top has special things that you can't get in the dinning room. My other issue is the wine glasses. Wine is served in a juice glass that my mother used to serve me OJ in the morning. Wines don't get to open up in the little glasses and it is just disappointing. I will return and continue to tell others to go, but they could be so much more than they are."

  • "Good food, great service. Low contention for families, groups or just two. Like the new high tops in bar area. Pasta dishes ample sized with a good wine selection. The electronic menus take some getting used to but once you get familiar with them they provide lots of nice descriptions, pictures and suggested wine pairings."

  • "Excellent service. Nice ambience. We return to Palio frequently because the food is delicious and service excellent. I often order the vegetable lasagna, which is phenomenal. I ordered the surf and turf special on Valentine's Day and my beef medallions were overdone, but the potatoes, sauce and spinach that came with the dish helped enhance the flavor of the dish considerably. My oldest daughter loved the tortelloni, and my youngest liked her fettucini alfredo until she got to the bottom of her dish and it was swimming in butter."

  • "Went there on Friday with my husband, step father and niece for a low key Valentine's Day dinner. The food and wine were very good. The Salmon and Gluten Free pasta with Bolognese sauce were the favorites among the group. We also enjoyed the fresh salads. They are very good about working with dietary issues...our server even asked for no croutons for the GF people which we forgot to do! It seemed like they crammed more tables than usual in there for the special occasion which meant we were bumped a lot by servers and guests squeezing by but not enough to ruin the evening. It was quite loud in the far back room so it was difficult to have a conversation over the entire table. We talked in pairs much of our dinner."

  • "Sorry but I did feel a little sardined in. We made reservation for 8 quite a while in advance. We were put toward the front on a hightop "bar table"....not exactly the dining experience I hope for (no table linens). But we were seated quickly and our server was very nice-"

  • "We went here for valentines day. We have been here before and had great experiences. We made reservations a couple weeks in advance to get right in. We got right in but were shoved in a private room right by the freezing cold window. Making reservations, you think you are ensuring a nice spot. That was not the case. You would think on valentines day if your making a reservation for 2, they would try their best to provide a nice atmosphere for you and your partner when you're paying $85 for a meal.. The food was average and the service was a little slow. We will probably go back but not on a holiday or if we want a nice date together."

  • "Good Italian menu and execution. Great location. Main Street in Downtown Ann Arbor is fantastic and Palio is an excellent eating choice among many in the area. Very convenient parking next door also. Enjoy a walk down Main and then grab some good italianfood and relax."

  • "11 of us had the family style meal and all were very satisfied with the variety, quality and quantity of the food. I have never had a mediocre meal here but the last two times we have ordered the family style and been really impressed. Lots of fun to pass around 9 different dishes for 6 courses, all for only $25/person! Everything we have tried on the family style menu has been excellent."

  • "Palio is another "Main Street Venture," but it doesn't have the same feel as the other restaurants in their fleet (and that is a good thing). There is nothing flashy about Palio, and that is fine too. Palio is focused on providing a quaint/comfortable environment with friendly waitstaff and good food. You get the feeling that you're eating at your Italian grandmother's house when you dine there; nothing flashy or over the top, but warm and inviting. You could pay 10-20% more for the same quality food at Gratzi, but the waitstaff and comfort level at Palio put it several notches above Gratzi in my book. There are a few tweaks I would make to the restaurant layout, but aside from that it gets 4/5 stars in my book!"

  • "I frequent chop house and real seafood. Not in same league, but close to same price. I'll stick to the other two from now on. Unfortunately, I brought a friend from out of town."
