The food was fantastic. We had the stuffed mushroom and polenta appetizers. Both were earthy, herby and delicious. One member of my party has celiac disease and the staff was very accomodating and helpful. We had bolognese (my all time favorite), alfedo with chicken (my 6 year old loves it) and chicken parmagana. LOVE the ravioli. Got the beef medallions on polenta this time. Beef cooked perfectly, very tender, very tasty. Made reservations a couple of days in advance for 7:00 on a Friday. Restaurant began filling up about 7:30-ish. Very busy. Fun place. I read a review that said the attire was business casual, but jeans were very prevalent. Waiter was knowledgeable and kept glasses, cups, etc... full. Did not appear too often. Service is friendly and relaxed. The overall atmosphere is one of casual southern Italian dining -- not terribly far from the actual thing (having been to Italy).
If you go on your birthday with "x" people, you get 1/x off of your food bill (alcohol not included). E.g., two people (on one of the person's birthdays--bring ID!) get 50% off; three people get 1/3 off; and so on. We went on my birthday...the food was excellent, the wine good (not spectacular, but not bad either), and the service perfect. The other dinners in our party were also very, very well prepared and a very delicious start to our night on the town. The food is excellent, authentic, sort of Italian "Cuisine." Prices very good, atmosphere is like a large family owned/operated "trattoria." Great menu, long wine list, staff who know the details of the food and how to serve expertly. When filled with folks, it can be very noisy. On a week night or lunch-time it is quiet. They also have a round table (maybe more than one I didn't notice), good for large groups. It's on the noisy side. A fun, upbeat place. However there were plenty of other foods to choose from in several categories so deciding what to get was difficult! I ordered from the specials menu and was not disappointed. There were 3 in our group and between us we had their seafood, their meat, and their pasta and each of us was very happy with our choice.
The service was fantastic. Our waitress was very attentive.
