  • "this was our first time dining at this restaurant and we were very happily surprised at the wide range of menu items and quality of the food. Setting is very pretty on the patio, servers attentive. Will definitely go back and try other items."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Palacio. We had reservations, so there was no waiting to be seated. The staff all worked together well and our waitress was friendly and competent. The food had some spice, but just a kick at the end. We all left very full, I don't think any of us ate the very last bit as we just couldn't stuff any more in."

  • "My husband and I are always looking for a fun spot to have good food and a fun atmosphere. This is the spot to go."

  • "We had the most amazing dining experience at Palacio. Each dish was stunningly delicious!"

  • "I had my little dog with me and they were very accommodating. We had to eat outside and for some reason it was windy and cold on a summer night. They set up a heather for us to make us feel as comfortable as possible. Food and margaritas are excellent!"

  • "I would recommend Palacio to friends/neighbors but we ordered mussels that were not fresh!!!!! I really don't mine the spin on the traditional or classic dishes. But, you have to do a better job.We ordered the shrimp ceviche with the added popcorn and mandarin orange slices NOT good. Our entrees were great but I will be skipping the tapas the next time."

  • "The food is always good, the outdoor dining wonderful and the service is pleasant."

  • "I've been here twice and the Mexican/latin american selection has been good. Sitting outside has been very nice and the historic building itself it very pretty."

  • "I have been to this place several times and the food has always been great. So is the service. But you must sit outdoors only. Inside seating is not so fun - feels too dark. Wish the table that we got outside had been bigger though as it got a little too overcrowded with items and my husband and I always felt like we were going to knock down our water or wine glass! We had the chips and the guacamole and salsa - yum! The Paella is fantastic and the scallops were also delicious. But the Flan, which we shared, was not good. It was dense and harder than what we have had in other restaurants. Will try something different next time."

  • "Had dinner with 3 other girlfriends. Nice setting both indoors and out. Entree sizes were OK but the tapas were overpriced. Not sure I'll return."

  • "I really like that every time we go the menu is slightly different....new and delicious things to try. Our food was fresh, flavorful and plentiful. We ended up ordering too much but it made for some nice leftovers. Hostess was charming and friendly but our waiter this time was a newbie and a bit under par. He brought us the wrong drink, didn't know what was in one of the dishes and didn't check on us for almost 20 minutes. Overall though the food and ambiance more than made up for his inexperience."

  • "if you value your privacy and don't mind the wait, this place is nice. don't go if you want to catch a movie in an hour and a half... just not enough time. This was our 2nd time going here and though the staff was polite and professional we rarely saw our waiter both experiences. it was our anniversary. Our drinks ran empty a number of times, love the guacamole appetizer however this time the bus boy removed our half eaten chips. (without asking, and before we were done...) This would not have been an issue if our food wad ready but sadly we ended up waiting another hour for the main course... with no explanation or apology for the wait. the food is great but you have to wait a while and the service is just not as it should be."

  • "Not being from the area, we felt so lucky to find Palacio on Open Table. For starters, our server Tim was the BEST! He made our Father's Day brunch so much fun! The food and drinks were excellent, very tasty and fulfilling. The patio had a bit of the wait, so we sat inside, but would probably stick it out and wait for the patio if we;re lucky enough to be back in the area. I can only imagine how cool dinner would be! Check this place out!"

  • "Everything was great, however the service is very slow. Thai is the second time we have been there and the service has been very slow each time. The servers are very nice it just takes a long time for drinks and food."

  • "The food was delicious and the staff were accomodating. My mother wanted the seared salmon to be grilled and they did so perfectly. The waiter heard us talking about it being my mother's birthday and presented her with a candle-lit dessert."

  • "We love their brunch setting & menu: peaceful outdoor front deck, and the menu offers outstanding Latin American influenced breakfast classics, plus lunch options from their main dinner menu. Put on sunscreen & bring a hat for when the sun shifts if you like open-air dining, or try for a deep shade table in the side garden."

  • "We went with a group (7) to happy hour and they have one of the best around. The Palacio Margarita is delicious and at $6 a bargain during HH. The Sopacitos are filling and not as spicy as some of the other dishes..I like that. Guacamole is excellent, Sliders spicy but great. Service from Thomas was excellent and the lovely hostess staff got us in when it looked like patio dining was out for us. We squeezed into a round table for 6, but really not a tight fit so perfect. Make sure they know you are open to that. Overall, left full and had two margies each and still under $40 without tip. "

  • "I asked server if the dinner entrée I was considering was spicy and he assured me it was not. So I ordered it and was disappointed to discover the sauce was HOT! Scraped off as much of the peppery sauce as possible and tried to eat the rest but it had permeated the food. Sweat beading off my nose I drank all the water. When he re-appeared to ask how everything was I told him he streered me wrong. Rather than apologize he argued! Maybe he's used to firey hot spices but I'm not and if I say it's too hot to eat then who is he to tell me it isn't! His attitude was indifferent and he let me know it. Not how I wanted my anniversary dinner to turn out. We will not be dining at this restaurant again."

  • "We had never tried Palacio based on rumors of overpriced, small portions, inconsistent service, etc. Some of those comments are reflected in Opentable reviews. But we decide to try, and were very pleasantly surprised. The menu was different than any other spanish/latin food around, and our selections were delicious...with large portions. Seafood enchiladas with lobster tomato sauce was outstanding, as was the seafood special halibut. Guacamole and salsa were terrific appetizers...and the dessert, too. Service was earnest and quite prompt, and it was a great evening for dining on the patio. Bottom line: we will be back."

  • "Wish we hadn't spent our date night on this mediocre service and weird-tasting food. To be fair, the guacamole was really good and my husband's filet was pretty decent. my chicken was not good and i could not finish it due to the strange spices and unappetizing gravy. When I asked about what it was, the server was not helpful and began guessing and didn't follow through on her offer to go ask the kitchen. We often had empty drink glasses and they didn't turn on the patio heaters, so we were starting to get cold. By the time we were ready for dessert, we were both looking forward to just getting our check and going somewhere else. The building was beautiful and iI think they must rely on that to get business. "

  • "I generally avoid as I heard food was so-so, but family was in town and outdoor seating was desirable. Hostess advised us outdoor seating will be about a 15-20 minute wait. We were 10 min early for our 6:30pm reservation and were ok to wait. We return and the wait turns into another 30-40 min because patrons are staying longer after finishing their meals. Surprised they didn't factor that in to begin. Decided on indoor seating which they then tell us would be another 30 min wait. They forgot we had a reservation to begin with. With apologies, we're seated, but for another hour before the food arrives. Then 20 minutes prior to food arriving, waiter tells us an item has run out. Entire experience was awkward. Some portions small."

  • "We say outside on a lovely may evening and it was beautiful. Makes you wonder why more valley restaurants don't take advantage of the climate. Food was a good attempt to create some interesting Mexican infused dishes bit lacked a lightness of touch. Makibg the meals rich and over the top. The service was well meaning but went missing when we needed them. Kids were made to feel welcome. I was glad we went to this restaurant once but wouldn't go back. "

  • "My wife and I tried Palacio to find something new. We were pleasantly surprised! We ordered the Ceviche de Scallops for an appetizer. Thinking thinking they had just red bell peppers I took a big bite. They were not just bell peppers and I let out an ai-yi-yi. One of the chefs happened to be standing nearby and rushed over. I told him it was good, but just unexpected. He went to the bar and brought back a free glass of Chardonnay to help me out. We both ordered the Seafood enchiladas which were fabulous. Our waiter was very attentive which made the service great. We are looking forward to our next visit."

  • "With all the great weather in the Silicon Valley, very few restaurants have taken advantage of proper outdoor dining. Of those that do, very few do it right. Palacio is one of those very few places. Couple this with great food and service and they easily garner top tier praise for recommended restaurants for not just the Silicon Valley, but the entire Bay Area."

  • "We came with a party of 4 for Mothers Day brunch. The service was great, and they served us complimentary mimosas, which was a nice touch. My grandmother and boyfriend loved the chicken with mole verde. I thought the tapas were a bit too greasy, and I tend to have a sensitive stomach, but there were some options on the menu that I couldn't help but try. The interior is a little dark. I think the best experience at this restaurant would be sitting outside on a warmer evening."

  • "Location is prime & outdoor seating is best. We had a window seat facing the front of the restaurant. They do have outdoor heating and I'm sure on other nights it would be helpful. The service was mediocre at best. Our server was a little clueless and didn't know where to place our food. Our main waiter we hardly ever saw, since he seemed more interested in the "botox" party next to us. Nothing to brag about, I'm sure I could get better food at one of the local smaller mexican places nearby…. Our paella was way too salty and not enough seafood or chicken in it."

  • "This is good place for outdoor dining for some Latin food. My friend ordered the enchiladas and she loved it. I ordered the scallops and they were excellent!! "

  • "My girlfriend is gluten intolerant, although the menu says "all entrees are gluten free" the couscous with the salmon is not gluten free so we ordered rice instead. After a basket of chips, 1 salsa, 1 guacamole her stomach began to feel the pain. Before her main dish!! If the chips are made fresh on site...even though they are corn chips, they are not made in a gluten free environment. Chips at other restirants do not upset her stomach. She could not finish even a quarter of her meal. My food was great as I have no problem with gluten. Be various if your gluten sensitive. "

  • "I've been here several times, but never experienced such a long wait. It was an hour+ before we received our food. The serve staff was ver hospitable and the food was great, but the kitchen was backed up due to so many people."

  • "The staff was nice and friendly but a little slow. One of our party ordered the seafood enchiladas and found a couple of fish bones. The food tasted good but nothing memorable. Tortilla soup was good, but could have had a little more broth. Churro sand flan were good."

  • "Since our party had arrived to Palacio separately, we were asked to wait in the bar area for the party to arrive. A table was setup in the middle of the second floor dining room but, per our request, quickly moved to a nook by a window. A waiter was friendly but a little rushed in the beginning. He quickly calmed down, and the flow of the dinner remained at a nice steady pace for the remainder of the evening. There was no feel of dishes being rushed to the table but dishes arrived without much pause between courses. The waiter's recommendations were on mark. We ordered a combo appetizer to split, individual entrées, and a couple of desserts. Sea bass was a tiny bit overdone, but all dishes and dessert tasted great. What a pleasant surprise."

  • "Such a great find to eat in this old home transformed into a fantastic dining experience. The tapas menu was a hit with my friends, so much that we never actually ordered dinner. The wait staff was professional, efficient, and friendly. The bartender made an fabulous peach cucumber martini that I will go back for. I'm looking forward to going back soon. The reason I was there was for my birthday with a party of 10. We had made reservations for dinner at 5 with the intent to arrive at 4 to enjoy happy hour, that was the best decision we made. I would plan on booking your reservation though. I'm not sure if it was due to Easter Weekend but they were booked solid. I was so happy my plans worked out."

  • "The food is excellent. Fun place to dine with friends. The service needs improvement. Wait staff wisk away plates before everyone is done which makes others feel rushed. We also asked for the tapas first followed by the salad - all the food came at once."

  • "I always say, it's not that problems happen ... because they do, it's how you deal with them. And we had a rare issue when dinning at Palacio this past weekend. My girlfriend's fillet came rather rare when she orders her well done. So they graciously took it back and cooked an all new fillet for her. The second it was cooke perfectly. Unfortunately, this meant that she was watching me eat my medium well fillet and then later I watched her eat hers. The staff dealt as well as possible with this including comping our dessert. So, not a perfect experience but a great recovery."
