  • "Paisano has a good reputation for food quality, and reasonable prices, but portions seems to have been reduced so the value has diminished. The restaurant has a new addition since we were last there, so easier to get a Saturday night table. Service was very slow, they ran out of a special (Grouper) at a relatively early time: 7:30PM. So it looks like managemnt isn't doing a very good job in staff scheduling and estimating popular dishes. There is a poor parking situation (not new), and it is only worse in the winter with snow claiming some of the small supply of local parking spots. The restaurant should add a valet service."

  • "Have dined here several times in the past three years and have always enjoyed the experience. However, the last two times, the food was far below acceptable standards. While my apple salad was delicious, the Shrimp marinara had to be sent it back because the shrimp tasted like chlorine. They brought me chicken parm instead and it was inedible. The chicken was rubbery and had visibly burnt edges, cheese was barely melted and the marinara was thin and tasteless. On the other hand, my husband's chicken scarpariello was great (I wish I had ordered that instead). I used to enjoy this restaurant and I'm hoping they get back on track, but I won't be going back anytime soon, especially since there are so many other fabulous choices in the area."

  • "The restaurant is a very nice facility with several dining rooms, each with it's own character. The dinners were inconsistent in preparation though. Of the three meals we had, one was excellently prepared, one pretty good and one only fair. The chicken dish with sausage was drowning in a sea of mushrooms and there was too much liquid in the dish giving it a gloppy presentation. Portions were adequate except for the desserts which were very modestly sized. Will go back, however on the premise that my dish was an anomaly. The service we received in our case was just average."

  • "I chose Paisanos based upon the recommendation in Open Table. Although we had 7:30 reservations the lobby was packed and we were not seated until 8pm. The waiter could not answer some of the questions as to the menu as well as translation of some of the dishes. When asked he responded ' you know what it means...' The food was plentiful. The pear and goat cheese salad was very good. The veal rack was overcooked although I asked for medium rare. The rest of the guests order different items and they seemed to enjoyed them. The bill came for $200 for a party of 4. I bit high especially not including wine as this is a BYOB. Good experience but not what I expected based upon the reviews."

  • "The food is consistently good. The prices are on the high side, but it's byob so that is a plus. Some tables are better than others. Some are set like you are in a hall way. I ask to be moved since I had a an advanced reservation and was accommodated with a better table in the dining room. Our server was lovely. There was a larger party in the back with one woman who laughed extremely loud the whole night, but I suppose that could happen in many restaurants, All in all this is a great byob restaurant with good food and great for get togethers as well as date night."

Reasonable prices and you can bring own beer or wine since there are no liquor licenses for restaurants in the town of Rutherford. Street parking only can be a problem at times. Overall, a nice place for dinner."

  • "Food and service were both very good. We sat in the front room, which was fine. Friends we went with cautioned me to ask for the front because the back room accomodates larger groups and can get noisy. By the time we were ready to leave, the front room had filled up too. It was very lively."

  • "We found this place to take our friends to lunch. What a gem. Comfortable atmosphere, attentive staff, food was delicious. One of us had the cajun calamari appetizer and the veal sorrentino entree which was great. Another had the chicken francaise which was tender and delicious. Another friend on a restricted diet asked if something not on the menu was available and it was. I had an old favorite, lasagna, which had a delicious sauce. We are not much for dessert but we shared a creme brulee which reminded us of Paris. All in all a great find."

  • "This place needs a little help: The salad came out with approximately 3 crumbles of goat cheese & nuts; it appeared to be measured with a scale! A few words to the waiter, and he kindly brought out some more toppings. The calamari came out without the tomatoes & chives as described on the menu; that, too, was corrected quickly. Pasta dishes are very flavorful. Overall, a pleasant experience that needs a bit more eye for detail."
