Paggi HousePaggi House is a great restaurantPaggi House is a great restaurant for before the theater. It's situated right between Zachary Scott Theater and the Long Center. We ordered several appetizers, which were great -- the watermelon canapes were not on the menu, and were fantastic. For the main course, we shared two meals -- the lamb sous vide and the scallops. Both were very good, though I preferred the lamb. Things got a little slow when it was time for dessert, which caused it to be less enjoyable since we were rushed to get to the theater. The valet was super helpful, though, and he drove us to the Long Center in our car, then took it back to the restaurant. We were able to walk back and retrieve our vehicle. Perfect!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMPre theatre DinnerWe were a party of four and had scheduled 2 hours for dinner before attending a performance at Zach. Three of us chose lamb for an entree and one chose snapper. All were cooked perfectly. I ordered gazpacho which was delicious but was a tiny serving which appeared lost in the oversized bowl. It was two colored and beautiful but I felt the serving should have been larger. Our waiter was very experienced and kept us to our schedule.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I went to PaggiMy husband and I went to Paggi house for dinner before a concert. We loved the cocktails~I got the texas wildflower and he got the a*s & titos. (He loved the name!) Service was excellent and the food was delicious.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery accommodatingHad my graduation dinner there. My opentable special request for a table inside was not seen until a week before the reservation, so two people from the restaurant called to say they had us booked on the patio and did not want us to be surprised. They also said they would make a note so if anything changed, they would move us inside. Day of, we got there and they were able to seat us inside. The food, drinks, service, etc. were fabulous. Very worth the price!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food as always! We always enjoy dining at this restaurant and look forward to celebrating here whenever we visit Austin. The dishes are always delicious and the menu changes. We are never disappointed.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMUnfortunate wine listLot's of VERY expensive unknown wines. The list needs a redo.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Austin FavoriteThere is so much to like about Paggi House. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is top notch and the patio is very relaxing for drinks with or without a meal.
It's just a lovely little place.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Time - GREATBooked Paggi House for Mother's Day Brunch, first visit after living years in Austin. A lot hipper than I thought it would be, and the menu and service were incredible. Highly recommend brunch at Paggi House!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA HitHad company from France and the UK come to visit. All are seasoned travelers and have eaten in many of the best restaurants in the world - from tiny Asia Pacific islands to the City of Lights. We all agreed, we could not have chosen a more appropriate place for this wonderful reunion. The food was superb. The rabbit as fine as in Germany; the lamb - well we could have been in New Zeeland; the scallops - close your eyes and dip your feet into sand or at a wonderful bistro in Paris. The wine was one of our friend's favorites which he can find no more. We laughed our heads off. The waiters were delightful participating in our joy. The hostess, gorgeous, charming, warm and welcoming. What a delightful time. Joy every bite of the way.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMinside/outside toatally different! We went to celebrate my birthday. Having been to Paggi house before, I though outside would be better for our small group as the inside is very quite and sedate. But there was a group of about 20 at a table near by and they were very noisy and it really made the place feel very casual - like a Guerros or other low-end outdoor eating. Fun when you want that, but not what we were going for with Paggi house.....5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Nice One OutsideReally enjoyed the scallops and the atmosphere - Sat outside and what a nice evening and interesting place to dine!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMI had eaten brunch beforeI had eaten brunch before and was looking forward to the buffet; however, they have now changed their Sunday menu to a 'select three'. I was wary but actually each course was excellent, well prepared and presented, and at $35/person, not cheap but reasonable. You can't beat the service and the ambiance is perfect for a Sunday morning. I will continue to recommend the Sunday brunch menu to friends and will go again myself.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food, Good AmbienceWent for brunch. It was a terrific food, great service, great ambiance. My only complaint is the forced Prix fixe menu. While $35 is high to pay for brunch, the issue was that it was too much food. Three decent-size courses meant no one finished their meals. If Paggi adjusts so a two-course meal is possible, or shrink the portions and price (maybe 3 smaller courses for $25-27), it would be perfect. Overall, I recommend Paggi House Brunch. It just needs a few small tweaks to get in the regular rotation.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new favorite! I am veryMy new favorite! I am very impressed by the ambiance and it's historical significance.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place! Have beenLove this place! Have been for happy hour and brunch and was very impressed. We'll definitely be back.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI thought the portion sizeI thought the portion size was a little small (I had the halibut special), but otherwise outstanding and would definitely go back.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMPaggi House is an AustintatiousPaggi House is an Austintatious restarant with excellent ambiance, atmosphere, and character for many types of dining occasions. It's a romantic setting for couples, great for groups, brunch, or for a happy hour get together. The views of lake Ausin, the city skyline combined with the candlelit surroundings and the fabulous menu and wine choices make this place a must dine in my book. I've dined at Paggi House going back to my Junior Prom in 1984 and today it is better than ever.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food, amanzing atmosphere,Amazing food, amanzing atmosphere, great wine. Have never had a bad experience here.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMnice.Great service. Great food. Except, my husband ordered and was very excited about the rabbit....but our waiter said that they decided not to serve it b/c it was too dry...while I do appreciate that, it was somewhat disappointing....oysters were great, my bacon wrapped salmon was great. Overall, nice experience.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMeal and service was veryMeal and service was very nice. Waiter had extensive knowledge of food and preparation techniques. Overall a fantastic experience!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was outstanding. We ateFood was outstanding. We ate outside and the atmosphere was great as well. Service was cheerful but took way too long between courses and overall.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was amazing, theThe food was amazing, the service was superb and overall this was a great dining experience.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOur daughter gave us a giftOur daughter gave us a gift certificate for our birthdays. Our positive experience was everything she hoped it would be. Try the specialty drinks at the bar during Happy Hour. They were great!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA pleasant spring eveningVisiting from the DC area, we were eager to find a place to enjoy good food in an outdoor dining situation, Paggi House did not disappoint. We had the tuna appetizer, snapper and grouper (special) entrees, and a most pleasant bottle of Chablis. All three dishes were well seasoned and very flavorful. The only complaint isthat the sauce with the grouper was too sweet and tended to overpower the very fresh and delicate taste of the grouper. The wine list, while extensive and interesting, is really quite pricey (rather shockingly so). However, our waiter recommended the reasonably priced Chablis, which worked out well. Service was very good, and we were kept apprised on the status of our orders as the proceeded through the kitchen.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster Sunday BrunchI was expecting the fabulous Sunday Brunch, served very Sunday, but was pleasantly surprise by the fantastic special Easter Sunday menu.My family sat out doors, enjoyed eachothers company while enjoying wonderful food. We found it was all reasonably priced.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI went with my family forI went with my family for Easter Brunch. They had a special menu - which was outstanding! We all chose different meals, but we all loved them. The service was great and we enjoyed the view of downtown from the patio outside. Thanks for making our Easter so special!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster Brunch w/kids...We had a wonderful Easter brunch at Paggi house. We had 4 young children with us and requested patio/outside seating, which they honored. I would have given outstanding scores for most of the features; however, they didn't officially have a "children's menu" option. It worked out, but the dishes were a bit fancy for the kids (ie- french toast was 4 little round pieces of bread topped w/bacon; delicious, but most kids are accustomed to a more simple option; also, waffles on the "fancy" side w/spices in them). Our server, Shea, was fantastic. We loved the patio seating w/the kids. Nice setting outside in general. Definitely nice brunch place if weather nice & know patio is fantastic option for happy hour or dinner too! Thx!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPaggiHad been to their Sunday brunch before and was sad to see they did away with it.
Nevertheless, everyone in my party enjoyed the food. Me being mostly vegan, it was a bit hard to find something. If I was an avid meat eater, I'd be all over it, though! Beautiful atmosphere, service was great, and the inside bar atrium room is my FAV! I want to live in it. The outside is very pretty, too.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTook family visiting in townTook family visiting in town for dinner. We had a great experience. The food was great (we shared several small plates and one large plate). Our sashimi was divine. The grouper special was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The foie gras was creamy and rich a great way to finish up our main course. The desserts were positively delicious. We had some very, very good butterscotch-coconut ice cream, along with their seis leches cake. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially in great weather, as their porches are lovely.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place. We hung outLove this place. We hung out for hours. The food was perfectly cooked. Red snapper tasted fresh. Every things was amazing!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat lamb chops but terrible musicSome of the best lamb chops I've ever had! The "boil-in-bag" concept is genius. Only problem was the music. Dr. Dre and the Stones are not appropriate for such a special restaurant. (This seems to be a problem in all nice Austin restaurants ...)3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great. We haven'tFood was great. We haven't been to this restaurant in a long, long time and it was a very nice experience. Wait staff was very helpful with menu choices/descriptions. A tad pricey, but overall a great meal/experience.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious brunch. Ask forDelicious brunch. Ask for Ian - his service was first class.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe absolutely loved PaggiWe absolutely loved Paggi House. Sat outside on a lovely evening and heard SXSW music from Auditorium Shores. Server was knowledgeable and outgoing, very professional. Food was excellent, and I liked my French chardonnay. Thumbs up!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal of 2012We eat high end food all over the country at least once a week. This was by far the best meal of 2012. Wine list is unusual and amazing. Try a red from Lebanon. You won't be disappointed.11/24/2012 12:00:00 AM
