Diner Reviews
  • "Page Road Grill is the premier hot spot for lunch/early dinner in the RTP area. It's not hard to see why boasting options such as their spin on the classic BLT, NC Shrimp and Grit(cake)s, or their healthier side: elaborate salads with lean meat on top. While the menu may not look impressive on the face for those with discerning palates, the execution and quality of ingredients when compared to the prices is an amazing value (typically ~$10 for entree+bev). The service is always attentive and can keep my glass full which few places can claim. The bar is fully stocked and offers a variety of choices for happy hour. I've been here 5+ times and will return every opportunity I am in the area for lunch, dinner, or just to have a few drinks."

  • "I took a group of colleagues that were in town for a meeting to Page Road Grill. The food was wonderful and there were a lot of options for the vegetarians in the group. The service was exceptional."

  • "We dine at Page Road Grille because the food is great and they have a well trained staff at all levels from hostesses to wait staff to kitchen crew and chef. Always have a wonderful dining experience consistently."

  • "Have eaten there several times and food has always been good. I ordered the boneless fried chicken thigh weekly special and it was way overcooked. Parts of the crusty outside had a burnt taste. Should have sent it back, but was with a group from work and didn't want to hold them up. But this one bad experience won't prevent me from going back."

  • "Beer, Small Salad and Entree = $35. Good Grief. This is a business lunch hot spot and most are on expense accounts."

  • "This would be a great spot of co-workers in RTP top get together after a long week at work. In my case, it was also a great spot to go for dinner before headed into Raleigh for a nice event. The food was great and the pecan pie turnovers were to die for! A little pricey, but worth it in my opinion."

  • "When visiting RTP last week, I ate at this restaurant twice. The entree's both times were mediocre. The Bistro Filet was had a huge grey ring before showing any pink and not the medium rare I requests. The meat was tough as well. The second, time I order a medium rare full filet mignon sent it back as it was so rare it was difficult to cut. After eating part of the recooked filet, I still found sections that were deep red and too under cooked even for a rare steak. The bar tender offered to recook it and I said, I am not going to pay for steak cooked three times. One the plus side, the bartender was very understanding and helped me find an agreeable meal. Excellent service! "

  • "We like to eat at PRG. The staff is knowledgeable, the food great. I had a "hanger" steak which seems to be similar to a London Broil which are tender and cooked the way I like it ( medium rare ) My wife's Risotto was flavorful and delicious; we had enough to take home a doggie bag for lunch Sunday. For us the weekend is the best time to go since it is not as hectic. During the business week, both lunch and dinner times are busy. The local beer selection is good, I've really enjoyed the White Street Kolsch Style Ale; however, there a numerous other choices. Previously, I've enjoyed the fish, shrimp creole, and even the humble burger. The menu does change from time to time; however, the choices are varied, the food very fresh."

  • "Ill start by commending the staff at Page Road Grill. They are friendly and reasonably attentive. The list of local beers and draft selection is also quite good, as is the ambience. What is not so good is the food. My fiancé's dish was microwaved (lentils), there is no way my soup was home made (it had the gelatinous quality of pre made soups), and the onion rings were very greasy. I had come once before and remembered the food being better so I brought others back with me. I will not bring anyone back here again unless it is only for the beer."

  • "Went here for a work dinner mid-week. They accept opentable reservations which made reservations a snap. For appetizers we got the onion rings, hushpuppies, and fried green tomatoes. The onion rings were practically dripping grease, but delicious and well spiced. Hushpuppies were probably my personal favorite appitizer though. Main dish was the salmon, which came on top of some sort of grain thing that I've n ever had before. I expected it to be bland, but was pleseantly surprised. Another good thing about this place is that they actually give you an adequate amount of food so you don't leave hungry at all. All in all, I would eat here again."

  • "The Page Road Grill is a great place for a quick lunch of great quality. The food is all local, fresh fair with hormone-free fresh meats and a creative menu selection. My personal favorite is the burger of the day. Always an interesting combination of flavors it never disappoints. Top it off with one of the most amazing and uniquely presented peacan pies for a perfect lunch. All in all a fantastic place I would go back for again and again."

  • "PRG is part of the Chapel Hill restaurant group which gives it a good pedigree. But for my group of six at dinner, we would agree there is work to do. Service was just okay and the staff was serviceable but missed on making any real connection. Of some annoyance was that we had to ask to have finished salad and appetizer plates removed. Salads in particular were flawed and most in our group did not finish theirs. Lettuce size was cut too large & dressing not applied correctly. Appetizers of hush puppies and crab cakes were the hit, entrees were okay yet not memorable enough to return for. I suspect that the lack of sit down restaurants in this part of RTP will keep the tables full but this restaurant could be so much better. "

  • "Chapel Hill Restaurant Group restaurants have always been go to favorites. Page Road Grill is another hit. The design of the restaurant is contemporary and comfortable, befitting a RTP location. The menu includes a good breadth of selections with creative, but not strained preparations. The special andouille deviled egg appetizer on frisee was great, but included 8 deviled eggs - plenty for 2 people. Main course was very generous portion of skirt steak, cooked a bit rare for medium rare, but very nicely seasoned and not too rare for me. My companion had mussels and a salad that she quite enjoyed. Our server was friendly, attentive, and unobtrusive. My only concern is servings that are too large, which seems to be a fact of life now."

  • "Outside it looks like anything but a restaurant, more like a small industrial business building. But inside is a delightfully contemporary space serving fabulous food at very reasonable prices. It's now one of our favorite places in the area, don't miss it!"

  • "Our server didn't know anything about the special when asked. He was very slow with taking our order and with bringing us drinks. My steak came out med rare/rare when I asked for medium. When I asked to have it fixed b/c I don't like rare steak it was obviously microwaved to try and fix it. The corn and shrimp hush puppies had very little shrimp in them. Our cocktails were very good, but were probably the best thing we had. My husband had the risotto and said it was fine."

  • "The Food was great service was wonderful. I got the BLT and it was to die for. My dining partner got the grains salad with chicken she ate every last bite. And we ended with bread pudding which was a perfect ending to a delightful lunch. The one thing that made this not a 5 was we went Friday at 12:30 and there was nowhere to park. I had to circle like a vulture until someone left the restaurant. But the lot was empty by 2. So to avoid problems go early or late."

  • "This is a popular RTP spot for lunch and after work beers. We came on a Saturday with some friends for a low-key birthday. I was actually surprised how lively it was on a Saturday evening. We decided to come here because it was a central place to meet and the half-price NC beers on Saturdays. We were not disappointed. The two dinner salads were well received, the ribeye was good, and the shrimp creole I had was excellent. And it wasn't jam-packed, as is usually the case at lunch on weekdays. All I can say in closing is: a great place, as many patrons in RTP know, and really good for dinner. Highly recommend."

  • "Opentable needs to add notable tap list as a recommendation -- this place has that!"

  • "Their lunch menu is much better. The server was pretty awful. I coudn't answer my questions and didn't bother to go find out the answer. Our teas were never filled up so we sat all of dinner with nothing to drink. We also had to wait about 15 mins for him to even walk by again to get our check and the place was empty so it wasn't like they were super busy."

  • "This was my first visit. Went on a Wednesday for lunch. The place was full - definitely looked like a popular place to go. I was glad I had a reservation. I liked the menu selection. The food taste was okay, but not great. The service was very slow for just about everything. I'd visit again if others wanted to go there but it definitely would not be my first choice."

  • "We had the reuben and the veggie burger and they were fine. Nothing great but perfectly enjoyable, and that's how I would describe the restaurant as a whole. Just taking the people who can't get into Mez for lunch, they should do fine."

  • "I had the flatiron steak with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. I was served an entire platter of Brussels sprouts, with the potatoes and steak on top. I loved the sprouts but there were far too many of them, most of which I did not eat. The steak was perfectly cooked, though, and delicious. My husband's gumbo was an odd orange color; he liked the taste but was put off by the color, honestly. Our server seemed inexperienced and not especially customer friendly. The restaurant kindly accommodated our early arrival, however, after we phoned and let them know of a change in flight arrival time."
