Paese was a wonderful dining
experience for my girlfriend and I. The food was fantastic and the service was attentive and helpful."

We went for Valentines day
expecting it to be a quiet and romantic but the music (rock primarily) was so loud it was difficult to talk which sort of defeated the experience. The food was okay, the wine I chose from the list wasn't available so ended up having to choose a much more expensive bottle...."

Mediocre food. Service was
alright.... Lack of ambiance. Over priced for the food you get---no flavours, nothing was super delicious."
Dined on 2/12/2014
Winterlicious menu was quite
dissappointing. Restaurant seems to use it as a cash grab offering poor - ok food and not wowing people so they would want to go back. The coffee was great."
Dined on 2/2/2014
Food was lackluster for the
pricing. Staff unattentive."

the day i went the service was
really slow and 2 of my dishes were over done while my 3 other friends dishes were fine"

GreAt new addition to the
neighbourhood. Give it a try you will like it"

Amazing pasta - the Veal and
Spinach Ravioli was obviously my meal choice. So good! The calamari was amazing too...loved that it is grilled and seasoned so nicely! Service was wonderful, atmosphere bustling but elegant and cozy, full wine list. Will definitely return!"

Food well prepared. Extensive and
good wine list of Italian wines. Not cheap. Service young , helpful, enthusiastic. On the last point, we only need to be queried ONCE during dinner "how are things going"."
Dined on 1/23/2014
We arrived as the theatre crowd
was leaving and it wasn't busy, thus noise level and ambiance were very good. All the dishes were very tasty, each with a special twist beyond the usual. The sommelier was great in understanding what we like and our price point and pairing something different for us to try, enabling us to sample and confirm we liked it. We like the Bathurst location too, but the King st location takes every aspect up a notch or two."
Dined on 1/23/2014
The food was delicious and the
service was great! We had a nice romantic dinner, I got the Caprese Salad and the Pollo Pizza."

We were looking for a good place
for dinner before seeing Les Mis at the Princess of Wales. After looking at the reviews online, thought we would give Paese a try. The food was excellent, a wine list a mile long, and very good service."
Dined on 1/18/2014
really good food.....unfrotunately
the service we received, although friendly, was very slow! It didn't seem like they had enough wait staff working on a Saturday night. Also, i was quite amazed that i had mentioned that it was my wife's 50th birthday and the restaurant didn't even acknowledge it. Not exactly the surprise i was going for!!"
Dined on 1/4/2014
Really enjoyed the food here and
the wine list was exceptional."

This was a great place for us
before seeing Once at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. I have dietary restrictions, and the manager addressed them right away once seating us. The food was so tasty, and the cocktails were yummy and traditional. It was a two second walk to the theatre, which was such a plus given the wild winter weather that night!"
Dined on 1/5/2014
Service was very slow. Wine
service was done wrong (which is an insult to the person who ordered the wine). Our food was brought to the wrong table. We didn't receive our bread. The server never came back to top up our water or wine. A very poor experience overall."
Dined on 1/4/2014
Got there at 5:30 for a 7:30 show.
One person in our party didn't get dinner until 7 - the apologized and did not charge me however that shouldn't happen and did stress us out."
Dined on 12/30/2013
Service good, one or two more
menue choices might improve, meals were above average but not hot, daily fish was excellent. Was very noisy when first arrived but once turned down (Upon request) it was much better and easier to toalk with friends. Would return"

Loved the overall design of the
restaurant. Surprised at the spaciousness once I got inside. Front door is cool but a little bit confusing but when I got in, I was awed by the high ceilings and loved the look. My only issue really was the music. Although busy, it wasn't the conversations around us that were disturbing. We did ask about lowering the volume and the answer was that it was going to be full and noisy anyway. Some nice moody jazz would have been appropriate to the time (it was early evening) and would have made the experience a little bit nicer. However, the menu is lovely and dinner was nice. Given that this a restaurant catering to a somewhat "sophisticated crowd", lowering the volume would probably be appreciated by most."

Our reservation was for 5:45 our
order was placed at 6:15 and our entrees were served at 7:25, even though we mentioned when being seated that we had concert tickets for 8:00 PM. While the food prices were reasonable, the wine prices were astronomical. What a wasted opportunity, especially since the food itself was superb."
Dined on 12/18/2013
Good selection of appetizers and
the mains were excellent - great veal. Wine list was extensive, and the sommelier was quite knowledgeable and recommended an excellent bottle. Also has a "corkage" service, if you want to bring your own, which is convenient."

Our Revlon VIP guests from Latin
America had a FANTASTIC time during their dinner - feedback was that the ambience, food and service were all outstanding. Thank you."
Dined on 12/4/2013
The servers were pleasant even
though we were the only ones in the restaurant, we wii go back."

We (party of 2) showed up on tome
for our reservation on time (5:30). All the staff we encountered gave us a warm welcome. The food we ordered was great but the table-service was spotty. We had to ask for a few things twice as they where missed and had other be re-entered and rush ordered. While the food was good we could not help but feel we where being rushed. I have had lunch here very often and the experience is much better then."
Dined on 11/30/2013
Food was very fresh and service
was good. Was recommended a white wine and it was fantastic. Would definitely go again. Only thing was they brought us the check thinking we were part of the theatre crowd and needed to get to the show, which we weren't. Even if we were, I think that's up to us to be on top of that, and they could've just asked. Can't wait to try more of their extensive wine collection."
Dined on 11/26/2013
The food was underseasoned and
overpriced. It has so much potential, and the bar is lovely. The cocktails were good and the wait staff and bartender were very nice but a bit slow. The most disappointing part was the food - the concepts were not well executed. Way too much butter on the ravioli, extremely salty caesar salad and the chicken cacciatore was underseasoned with a bland tomato sauce."

I have been to this location of
Pease 3 times and it never fails to impress. The pasta is yummy as are the meatballs. If you are going to see a play, I would definitely come here first!"

Good place to go to before a show.
Good food, not excellent. Great atmosphere and good service. Reasonable priced."

This was the second time we dined
at Paese on King within the past month. Once again, every aspect of the evening was perfect. The service was particularly attentive with excellent suggestions for menu choices."

So nice to find a good restaurant
open for Sunday dinner. It is a challenge to go out for anything other than brunch that day. Very creative and well crafted food. I will be back."

We were celebrating a major
achievement (my partner received her PdD) with a group of 8. The service, food, drinks, and atmosphere at Paese were all top notch. A few members of our party used to live in Italy and raved about the meatballs, octopus, and veal. The highlight for me were the cocktails, especially the cask cocktails."

My cousin and I attend went to
Paese this wednesday before seeing Les Miserables. I had been there before just for drinks (which are amazing and designed by their bartender). This time I had the ravioli and she had the gnocci. The food was amazing and the wine selection we fabulous. Our service was excellent, they were quick to seat us, take our coat and very attentive throughout. Of course they made sure we made it out in time to get to the theatre and get in our seats. Overall great experience, I will recommend and go back!"

The Pizza reminded us of our trip
to Rome, the meatballs were fantastic and the ceaser salad was unique. Overall a fantastic experience, and we were done in time to catch our show."

Celebrated our daughter's
birthday. The food was very good, all six of us enjoyed what we ordered, but the service was hit and miss. The restaurant was somehow loud, though there didn't seem to be a lot of people. We had trouble hearing anything the waitress said, and service was ok, though it could have been a lot better. We were given a table right in the middle of the room, and one of our party, at the corner, was run into several times by the wait staff. The wine by the glass list left something to be desired, and some of the items, both wine and food, weren't available."

My guest was an hour late, and the
staff looked after me while I waited. They offer without being asked to serve half orders of pasta, and at half the price. When a glass of wine of the wrong varietal was served, they left it at the table, gratis. Autumn caprese salad was delicious."
Dined on 11/3/2013
Paese is limited in many ways. The
menu selection is limited, service is limited and not attentive and taste of food very, very average."
Dined on 10/31/2013
The decor is lovely, and the staff
member who greeted us at the door was very polite and welcoming. The decor is very nice; it is understated and cozy. Our waitress started off well, but the service declined quickly as the meal progressed. She apologized for forgetting to order our side dishes after we reminded her that we did not get them, but they did not arrive until the end of the meal. She seemed to be avoiding our table after that, and we were unable to have dessert and coffee by the time she came back because we had tickets to a show. The food was delicious, but the service was definitely lacking."
Dined on 10/27/2013
The service was great, food was
acceptable but slow coming and a little overpriced. Great location and acceptable ambience but that's about it. Not sure we will be going back considering Toronto has many other better options."
Dined on 10/26/2013
Handy for quick quality dining
before the theatre on King St or at any time. Saturday night was very busy and the pasta dish my partner chose was very skimpy on contents and sizing. However, the server brought the manager without being asked and he immediately resolved it to our satisfaction by removing the charge for the dish. First time we've had an issue and will go again no problem."
Dined on 10/20/2013
I started with the rich and creamy
Pumpkin Soup - scented perfectly and with whole cranberries! A delightful surprise. I moved onto the Tuna Bianco salad (seared tuna on greens) and the tuna was grossly over salted and fish tasted old. It was presented well, but that only works with good food - very disappointing. The Margherita Pizza was followed and unfortunately was missing the basil; any Basil. Service was friendly but inattentive."
