While unique and carefully crafted enchiladas and tacos have become house staples. We also take our tequila and beverages very seriously as we search out hand crafted and boutique distilleries to round out our over 60 in house tequilas and mescals.   • "The drinks are superb, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is fun while still being elegant and comfortable. The chips, salsa and guacamole are simply the best in their class. The salads and tacos are always exquisitely fresh and perfectly prepared. Best of all, our toddler is welcome, and he loves the place and the kids' menu options. There aren't many places where we can get a truly excellent meal with him in tow (and happily occupied with crayons and chips)."

  • "Crudo, ceviches, and cocktails are excellent. However, the empanadas, chilaquiles, and tacos are only average. The quality of the ingredients is very good, it just doesn't come together and flavors were often muddy rather than vibrant./fresh. The restaurant looks great, and except for some backless bench seating (perching?) by the windows is very comfortable. Fairly loud. Service was outstanding."

  • "The restaurant has a nice style and is comfortable. The food was nicely presented and pretty tasty, but some dishes missed the mark. For example, ceviche was in a deep bowl of liquid, so much that herbs and veggies were floating and soggy, and it resulted in dripping and puddles on one's plate; beef tongue was diced up very small thus was dry and it was served on a pastry shell so one ended up with much more starch than meat. The duck tacos were nicely presented and tasty. Overall, the meal was good but not notable. Service was very pleasant."

  • "I'm normally not that into Mexican food for a dinner out. I'm more of a mission burrito kind of gal and get your fancy food elsewhere. However, this place is outstanding. Their cocktail list is solid with very unusual drinks. I recommend starting out with the rabbit empanadas and you can't go wrong with their tacos. We had the steak and pork carnita tacos. My drink was the right amount of spicy and called the Piñata. I would definitely crave items off this menu and count down the days till my next visit. Yum!"

  • "this is the second time eating at this neighborhood place. The first time, which was the first week it opened, was so bad that it has taken us till now, over a year, to try it again dispite it's convenient location. The first time everything, and I mean everything, was over spiced, to the point that you could tell the spice, beyond cqenne,, or the food I was eating. this second time the food was great, not too spicey, but delicious. I will now go again in a heart beat, given its convenience to our location."

  • "A last minute dinner reservation to celebrate our daughters birthday turned into one of the best meals I've ever had. This is a strength in numbers opinion. We as a family all agreed that our meal was extraordinary. Padrecito has a sauce genius working for It's patrons. For our meal there were six distinctly different sauces,I'm sure there are more in the kitchen. To me sauces are a form of magic or alchemy and as someone who enjoys cooking I was more then impressed. I need to say that it is not just a sauce infatuation. Every layer of our experience from beginning to end was a joy. We as parents impressed upon our children that our waiter and service in general is what they should consider A+ when they dine out. Bien Hecho Padrecito!"

  • "Usually, I go to Mexican for cheap food. But like Chinese, Mexican food can be every bit as gourmet, and worth gourmet prices, as any other cuisine. Dishes had some of the most creative and successful combination of flavors I've ever experienced. Rarely do I say "what is that flavor?", in a good way, as often as I did at Padrecito. If I could offer an improvement, they need more vegetarian options. They have a few, since they're botanos (small plates), I'll be having the same thing every time I go, which will just mean I'll go less often."

  • "we started with chips and salsa and guacamole for $9 and was pretty disappointed. the "salsas" were more like dipping sauces in little pots you couldnt even stick a chip in to. The gaucamole tasted bland and over processed, really smooth and had no kick. We then shared ceviche and hamachi crudo- the ceviche was a soup of liquid and a few pieces of torn and damaged looking fish, like the pieces had gone through a blender or something. It was really unappetizing and 3x the cost of what it was worth. The hamachi was also pretty bland and overpriced. The other 2 got 2 orders of pork belly tacos and that was the only decent thing in the whole meal. so noisy we had to yell at each other across the table"

  • "Padrecito has some pretty good up-scale mexican food, and some of the tapas-style dishes we ordered were really notable (e.g. rabbit empanada were fantastic). We enjoyed our meal in a fun boisterous and nicely-decorated environment. However, one critique is that the food was a bit pricey for what is was, especially when the dishes were small and meant to be shared (5-6 ~$9-13 dishes for 4 people were suggested). Not sure I would make this a regular place due to the price, maybe just go back to check out the bar and have an appetizer or chips."

We were seated very quickly upon arrival & right on time for our reservation; the first thing I noticed was how incredibly loud it was-we asked server to repeat things & we had to lean over the table to even talk-they REALLY need to do something about the noise as it is not conducive to time with friends without yelling-felt like leaving a dance club when we got outside; on the menu the albondigas & brussel sprouts were fantastic, really FANTASTIC-the empanada was really greasy & like a quesadilla/no pastry about it; cocktails were delicious & well crafted, but the sangria was extremely disappointing; our server was good but sporatic. I'll go back to see how it is next time with hope for consistency"

Interesting but for me lacked a dimension - needed more acid, cilantro, something to cut the richness of every dish. Maybe one of the 80+ tequilas would do it... Would have liked some free or cheap chips at those prices (4 dishes and 2 drinks, $66.) Given the quality that's not excessive but still. However there's more on the menu to explore, it's walking distance, we'll be back. Great service too."

It is LOUD, and in order to carry on a conversation, you need to leave. Maybe that's the point (clear out the old, bring in the new), but a neighborhood eatery should try for a better comfort level."

  • "Your braised pork belly tacos were inedible. It was very difficult to get a bite off the hunk of gristle put in our tortillas. I think most people expect a braised meat to be fall off the bone tender not like a piece of rubber. Too bad, I enjoyed the cocktail with mezcal and chipotle powder, but we found your signature drink the padrecito quite plain and easily beat by many margaritas around town.You had excellent chip and your cerviche was quite fresh. Service was very good."

  • "Lovely ambience, we sat upstairs where it was nice and warm. I absolutely loved the chicken enchiladas that my mom ordered, and I don't even like enchiladas normally. They were the best dish on our table. My husband's fish ceviche was tiny (the size of a small cup of coffee), expensive ($16), and the taste was so strange (basically all vinegar and cucumber) that he didn't finish it. The chips and salsas were fabulous, my arctic char tacos were yummy, the drinks were nice and strong, and the churros were okay, a little too crunchy for my taste, but the coffee cream they came with was divine. The waiters were very nice but not overbearing. All in all, a great experience (except for the confusing ceviche)."
