A word from Paco's Tacos & Tequila
Paco’s Tacos & Tequila offers big Texas flavor in Charlotte’s SouthPark neighborhood. FS Food Group founder Frank Scibelli traveled Texas with Tex-Mex culinary expert and cookbook author Robb Walsh in order to uncover the secrets of authentic Tex-Mex recipes, and the attention to detail shines through in the bold flavors of each dish. A variety of spices that season Paco’s dishes are imported from a Texas-based company, and a tortilla machine creates fresh tortillas daily.

From the Wood-Fired Grilled Fajitas to the Cheese Enchiladas with chili con carne, Paco’s menu showcases the freshest quality ingredients. Central to the dining experience is the bar, which features more than 85 tequila varieties, several outstanding wines and a selection of beers from Texas, Mexico and North Carolina. No need to travel to Texas for your fix-join us for lunch or dinner seven days a week and see why Paco’s is always the hot spot!

Diner Reviews
  • "Brisket, Steak and Shrimp tacos were great! The best part was that I got to try Gran Patron and Don Julio Real on a Tequila flight! Very nice place I will return next time I am in Charlotte."

  • "The food is always amazing here. The staff is friendly and fast. We will keep returning. I highly suggest you make a reservation. If not the wait is long, but worth it."

  • "My wife and I often go to Paco's Tacos when we are in Charlotte, NC. This time while we were in Charlotte this was a last minute decision and like always everything was outstanding. Our waitress was great. She really stayed on top of things."

  • "Finally found the place in Charlotte for great Tex-Mex food. I ate the whole enchilada!"

  • "I have been to Paco's Tacos several times so I must say I was a bit disappointed with my meal on Saturday. Overall the taste was just OK and there was a hair in my food. (I get it - people are hairy - this happens. But maybe wear hair nets?) The salsa was smokier than normal and overall I thought that flavor of my entree was just blah. My server was excellent though, and I enjoyed a Mango Margarita on the rocks which was delish. We got there at 5:30 and by 6 it was packed and VERY loud. I will go back again and hope this was just an off night for the cook."

  • "We went on a Saturday night (with a reservation) and they were able to seat us 20 minutes early, which really surprised us because the place was packed FULL. The waitress was awesome and very prompt and friendly with service. They also had other staff to re-fill the chips bowl and clear the table before we even had to think of asking. I had the pork carnitas which I would definitely recommended ordering again.Lots of variety on the menu so I might have to for something else the next time."

  • "Most of the time with open table reservations, you get seated in minutes. We had to wait 25 mins after out scheduled reservation, to get seated. Thats almost 2 additional reservation slots that where still sched available."

  • "Great food. Great margaritas. There's nothing about this place that I don't like."

  • "One of our favorite restaurants in charlotte. Always an excellent meal and their salsa ROCKS!"

  • "We went there for an easy Valentine's Day dinner & were not disappointed. The food & drink were good, & the service was excellent. I might not order everything again, but would reorder some of what we tried & be happy to try other things. Tableside guacamole was really good, & the tequila selection (they have flights is you want to try a few) can't be beat."

  • "This was my boyfriend and I first time visiting. I was a little nervous, but glad I went. From the warm chips and salsa to the margaritas. I was able to build your own and was so pleased of all the different varieties. We also tried yucca fries and they were DELICIOUS! The portions are large enough for two servings and our waitress was a doll. I ordered the chicken fajitas, came will all the fixings and the chicken was so tender. My boyfriend got the beef enchiladas and said they were pretty good. Will definitely be added to my list of places to go."

  • "This is my go-to restaurant when people come from out of town. It's one of the few places in SouthPark when you can get a good meal for a decent price. I've never had anything that I didn't love, and most of the entrees are around $10-$15. The margaritas are also awesome, though they can get a little pricey. Even though it's the cheapest one they have, the "Margarita With No Name" beats most other places' margaritas easily."

  • "I have gone to Paco's Tacos three times now for Charlotte Restaurant Week and they never disappoint! I have also gone on other occasions because everything on the menu is delicious and I just want to keep trying different options. The restaurant week menu gives you such a variety that you can try a good portion of the menu. But it leaves you wanting to come back for more. The guacamole is so flavorful and made tableside. The queso has just the right kick. All of the taco varieties are wonderful! There is something for everyone on the menu! And of course you can't forget about the drink and dessert menus either!"

  • "went for restaurant week and got a ton of food. the pork carnitas were amazing, tres leches cake delicious and margarita was great!"

  • "Excellent food and friendly service. Negative was that we were rushed through dinner with courses coming before we were finished the one prior so they could turn the tables. Dining experience was impacted as we were a group that doesn't see one another much and felt rushed to leave."

  • "This was the first time we dined here. The food was tasty. The service was good. It was enough food to eat and then take home. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and helped us to choose our meals just from us telling him what we liked and didn't like. The appetizers were the best. I finally had something that I thought was spicy enough to my liking. We will return."

  • "I had a great time dining at Paco's Tacos. Their restaurant week menu was one of the best I have ever had. The pork enchiladas were delicious! The service was good and I would recommend this restaurant."

  • "We went as first time guests during restaurant week. My husband and another couple. The food was very good and they give you so much it is definitely enough for two full meals. My biggest regret was the service. I understand that restaurant week is a very busy time for the staff, however, for many ppl, this may be the first time they sample your cuisine and a first impression is going to last! They were all minor things, but every single request we had, wasn't handled. Food was not made to order...simple things. We asked for sugar on our margarita rims, but we got salt, I selected black beans, but got refried, etc. I don't know...I am a little bit picky. It's probably not something to hold against them, since the food was so good."

  • "My husband and I had been to Paco's Tacos shortly after they opened. It wasn't that great of an experience... Needless to say, when I wanted to return for Queens Feast, he wasn't too thrilled. Lucky for me, I usually get my way, so we went. Happily, for both of us, it was good! The food was fresher and more "authentically tex mex" if that makes sense, and our waiter, Tucker, was attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely visit again!"

  • "Having just moved to the area, we were very interested in trying several different restaurants. Paco's Tacos was the first on our list. The service was excellent, with the waiter, CJ, making fresh guacamole at our table and bringing extra chips at the perfect time. Very friendly staff and happy to tell you about all the food. Speaking of which, the food is great!! The guacamole was delicious, the salad I had was one of the best I've ever had and the tacos were incredible (though I do recommend getting the soft tortillas, not the hard shells). The turkey club taco is delicious. I highly recommend doing the three taco plate and mixing and matching different tacos together. All around great experience and we will assuredly be going back!"

  • "I was disappointed to find out the Queens feast menu wasn't the se as the last time. The "drink" they give you is sour mix and ice. They have really good food/drinks just not for queens feast (like the last couple of years)."

  • "Good for a guys/girls night out. Very good food. Probably not the best place for a date and definitely not for an intimate dinner. Would definitely recommend to someone else and definitely go back."

  • "We had heard nothing but great things about this place and we were excited to see for ourselves what the buzz was about. A fun, casual bar scene/date location and our server was very attentive but we were quite disappointed with the quality of the food. Maybe because it was restaurant week and they were busy the quality suffered, but I don't see what the draw is here. The margaritas were mostly sour mix, the tortilla soup was lukewarm and tasted more like vegetable soup. Our entrees weren't bad. I had pork carnitas which had good flavor, but again were served lukewarm. The tacos were decent and overall we were served large portions. Apple crepes for dessert were th he best part of the meal.Just not worth paying full price in my opinion."

  • "We came to Paco's Tacos most recently for restaurant week and loved it, as we always do. The food is phenomenal, including a magnificent chili con queso and guacamole which are top notch (I love both yellow or white queso and recommend both!). I have never gotten anything bad here and they have a great gluten free menu that I love to eat off of. I highly recommend (esp for GF people) the shrimp enchiladas with queso and the Margarita With No Name. YUMMMM."

  • "Paco's over the holidays was just a crazy place to be! Our server was in and out so fast we didn't even think she heard our requests - she did seem to manage to get us what we wanted and pretty quickly though. It was not a relaxing evening by any means though!"

  • "I must admit I do not like Tex-Mex/Mexican cuisine. However, I will be back to this restaurant. We had the special "enchiladas with pulled pork on the inside drizzled with chipotle BBQ sauce." It was delicious. We started with the "Volcano Queso" which was some of the best I've had! Service was quick and efficient!"
