A word from Packard's New American Kitchen
Packard’s New American Kitchen is steeped in the heritage of Oklahoma City’s historic Packard Building. Through the build out process of the restaurant we were able to restore several elements of the original Packard dealership that really bring the history of the space to life. Be sure to check out the craftsmanship uncovered in the tile that originally served as the show room floor.

Our menu is a modern take on classic American favorites using locally sourced ingredients and features house-made breads & pastas.

  • "We used to really enjoy eating here. We ate here for Sunday brunch almost weekly from March-June. The sourdough pancakes used to be spectacular with a nice crispy edge. Now they taste like regular pancakes. Eggs are nearly always over-cooked. Berry crusted French toast was blackened this past Sunday. Salad was good, but tiny!! Service has been slow and takes forever to get our check. I don't think we will give this place another chance. We've had enough."

  • "Reservation worked good. Service was sporadic and the waiter did not get the orders clear. Had a drink order that never showed up. After an hour and needing to make It to a play (that I told the waiter about 20 min earlier), had to flag the manager. She was very professional and went in the kitchen and SHE brought our food out not our waiter. She also brought my check as I requested and had kindly reduced the bill drastically. We had to Woolf our food in 5 min as we had to get tot the play. We missed the first few minutes if introduction. Didn't have time to enjoy food but it was probably better had we had time to enjoy."

  • "Tried Packards for the first time. Great table, great service, wonderful food. My partner had salmon, which had to go back - it was a bit undercooked. I had ribeye which was really good, and the sides on both plates were imaginative, well prepared, and delicious. Desserts were spectacular: the Peach Skillet Cobbler and the Cracked Caramel Sundae. Wines were good. Waiter was knowledgeable and informative; other staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a really good dining experience. Will definitely return."

  • "We were greeted by a friendly hostess and our group of 8 were shown to our table. It was downhill from there. Our server was very soft spoken in a noisy environment and we didn't see much of him. We were waiting for our entire party to arrive to order our drinks. Even after everyone was seated it took awhile for our drink order to be taken, half of the table was ignored. The food was worth the trip. I would like to see some additional training for servers. We won't be back to see if the training happens. There are too many other restaurants that want to take care of their patrons."

  • "Excellent food and atmosphere. Went here on the recommendation of a friend for a couples date. Had a fabulous dinner and ended the night with a cocktail on the rooftop. Would definitely go again! Staff was very helpful and menu contained lots of options for special needs diets (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free)"

  • "We LOVE Packard's! The food is imaginative and amazingly delicious! The staff is friendly and the ambiance is great. If you like coffee, especially iced coffee, you owe it to yourself to try the cold brewed coffee (I like the sweet and creamy, though it's not overly sweet). My fried chicken biscuit blew my mind! My husband had the duck confit hash which was just amazing, and my son had the steak and eggs which was also great. Oh, and who doesn't love $2 mimosas? Seriously, try it. You'll be glad you did. :)"

  • "Sometimes Packard's can be a bit noisy for me but today at brunch it was perfect. We sat at a table on the far east side next to the window. It was a beautiful Sunday morning with the light streaming in. Our waitress was very attentive and even apologized for a short delay that we hadn't noticed. The food is fun (the way it's described), tasty and plentiful. Packard's is one of those restaurants that makes me feel like I'm not in Oklahoma. It's hip, it's cool and we'll be back again and again."

  • "I have to say that Packard's was an absolute delight! We went there on a whim as an old friend posted something on Facebook so we really didn't have any expectations. WOW!! That's all I can say! The pork chop I had as well as our appetizer was some of the best food I've eaten in months. I regularly travel and hit as much fine dining as I can put my mouth on, so these statements are not lightly made. My date had about the same reaction to her food as well.....so it wasn't a fluke. Highly recommended."

  • "Not much I can say. It's kind of "new" hipster, trendy, great food. It can get pricey if you drink a lot though. But any restaurant is pricey with a lot of booze. I like that this place changes its menu between the summer and winter. I'm vegetarian and had the red lentil curry. It was spicy as hell and wonderful."

  • "This restaurant is very nice and there are some outstanding food and drink items, but service is significantly slow. The staff appears rather young and possibly inexperienced. Drinks take a very long time, even for a simply glass of wine. Unfortunately they promote craft cocktails and old fashoned drinks, but with only the support of one bartender. After dinner our group migrated to the rooftop only to find they were closing down due to a very distant threat of a storm (possibly heat lightening) that never fully developed in the area."

  • "Packard's has always been one of our favorites in downtown OKC, the burger was amazing, and we loved the crispy fingerling potatoes as a side. We were very disappointed with this visit that they've gotten rid of the fingerling potatoes and (according to our waitress) "simplified the mustard" that was on the burger - translated - now it's just basic yellow mustard. I'll try again and ask for no mustard, or something else so I don't get a dry burger, overall we were disappointed with the small changes in the menu."

  • "Went to Packard's for a 3d time for my "see you later" lunch" with my co-workers; we made a reservation a couple of days in advance and they allowed us to add a seat fairly last minute (we called at 11, reservations were at 11:30). The new summer menu was tasty. The waitresses were constantly bringing new drinks and were accommodating to our 13-person group. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely be going back."

  • "This was an early evening stop before the game, so most of the crowd was on the roof top bar for happy hour. We thoroughly enjoyed Packard's, it is open and airy, but our little booth gave us perfect privacy for conversation. Staff was friendly and honest with recommendations. To start we had the muscles; hot, spicy and a great start with the featured wine for the evening. I had the beef filet, cooked perfect to my order, it was tender and delicious. My companion had the bone-in chop of pork which was 'to die for'. The sides were fitting accompaniments in just the right proportions. We finished up with Packard's rendition of Banana Pudding, the presentation and taste is awesome. This is not your mom's pudding cup. We shall return. "

  • "The reservation was easy to make and the table was ready. We asked for suggestions for draft beers and the waitress seemed to know the answers. We should have asked more about the food. One diner at our table asked about the duck. The waitress said it was very good and he loved it. Two of us ordered the chicken and we both agreed it was very dry, not much flavor. The risotto and broccolini served with it were excellent. My husband ordered the lasagna and he hated it."

  • "Three of six diners in our group did not like their meals. Two were sent back. The other three found the entrees to be average to below average. Two cocktails were poorly prepared and sent back. One water glass smelled strongly of bleach or other chemicals. The server had very little, if any , knowledge of the dishes he was serving. One diner cannot eat spinach for health reasons, and the server did not know if the house salad contained spinach. He also did not know how to open or serve wine. Period. Not his fault, just lack of training. The menu contains good choices and they are described in great detail. Too bad the chef has not read the menu. "

  • "We stopped in for a 7 PM reservation before an 8:30 basketball game. Our waitress can right over to our table and got us going. When I asked for a Moscow Mule she said they didn't have that specific drink but suggested another one also made with ginger beer... very nice of her. We ordered our dinner - I got the halibut and my dinnermate got the salmon. We then waited 25 minutes for our entree to come which, in my opinion was too long. The restaurant was not full, but there was a large party so maybe that was it. The halibut was delicious but just a teeny bit overdone. The side of peas, mushrooms and tomotoes was delish! My date said that the salmon was very good as well. Overall a solid experience."

  • "Our reservations party of four at 6:45 PM. We visited the roof and it is lovely and it was a nicet evening. Unfortunately the roof top menu has no food and the bar is limited. They need to upgrade roof top menu and it would be a major attraction. At 6:45 we walked downstairs and were seated immediately. Gregg arrived and introduced himself. He then took our order. Service was slow but they were very busy. When our orders arrived Gregg brought our orders except for my wife's. She had ordered a salad and a entree. Not sure what happened but he forgot to order my wife's entree. By the time salad arrived the rest we were nearly done. I ordered the mussels and caprise salad. They were excellent. Even with the problems it is worth another try. "

  • "Went in for a late dinner and to catch some of the Thunder game. I had the special which was rack of lamb with a rice and black bean side. It was wonderful would order again! My sister had the fried lasagne one of my personal favorites.(Tip: all pasta is 50% off with your keep-it-local card every Wednesday) I also had the pack mule off the specialty cocktail menu again one of my personal favorites. The staff was friendly and attentive as always!"

  • "Selected the restaurant based on preference for local product and suppliers. We had invited 4 different groups of people to join us for a celebration dinner. Some of our guests are really quite particular about their food and only after they had reviewed the website did we feel confident to place our reservation. Service was mediocre. When asked by our server if we had ever been to Packard's we said no. This would have been the ideal time to explain the uniqueness of the restaurant and what we could look forward to. The server responded that the appetizers were at the top of the menu page, turned and left the table. As hosts, we knew right then that it was only the food that would make this a good dinner. Food was very very good."

  • "Chose Packard's for a pre Thunder game location. Having eaten there before I knew the food would be good and it did not disappoint the four of us that dined. Had the trio dip appetizer and I will order that every time I go. The Airline chicken was delicious as was the burger and the special that night was the crab cake. We were in and out in plenty of time for the game. Two thumbs up!"

  • "I had my birthday brunch here and it was awesome! Had the mimosas flowing and yummy pancakes and parfaits! Our waitress was UNBELIEVEABLE and would bend over backwards for us. Sadly we had wanted to be on the roof but there is no food service up there, which we were totally okay with! Great place, amazing food!"

  • "The thing I loved most about Packards was the ambiance and décor of the restaurant. I will definitely be returning to try other entrees. The entrée I tried for brunch was good but not great. A similar eggs benedict that you could get at any brunch location, I was hoping for something more unique. The restaurant did not appear busy or overwhelmed when we arrived or left (approximately 3-5 other tables) Our server was also the bartender at the time which led to her becoming busy and providing less service. It felt like we overwhelmed her with requests because she rarely came to table to check on us. We enjoyed the birthday candle for our dessert while celebrating a special occasion. "

  • "We had heard some mixed reviews of Packards though it may be that most of the initial issues have been addressed. I had rack of lamb which was cooked to order and was worth the price, but it was just a little shy of outstanding, My wife's filet was similar. From the time we were seated to the time we received our food ran 50 minutes, which may be attributable to their being very busy. The wait staff was very attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. I think we will try it again, as long as we are ready to wait a while to be served."
