  • Hours of Operation: Come early and enjoy one of our seasonal hand crafted cocktails from 3:30 PM daily in our Sunset and Lounges overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Dinner service begins from 5:30 PM until the end of January 2013 then from 6PM in February onwards. There is a full ocean view from every single table, however diners with early reservations will have the best chance to obtain a table next to the western wall of glass. Reservations are very strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.

Lee Durley and Joe Indence of the Easy Street Band have been delighting music lovers and dancing fools for many years in the Lobos Lounge every Saturday night from 7:00pm until 10pm. Peer at the wildlife on Bird Rock at Point Lobos through the ship's telescope in the corner, then drop the lens and join the party, dancing to tunes such as "Great Balls of Fire," one of their more raucous covers that always seems to get everyone up and dancing in merriment.

Perched high atop a granite cliff overlooking Point Lobos State Reserve, migrating whales may be seen from every table in the dining room. USA Today selected us as "One of the Top 10 Restaurants in America With a View." Sunsets here are so spectacular that the entire dining room often breaks out in spontaneous applause. Pair a bottle of Domaine Bertagna Vougeot Clos de la Perriere with our Maple Glazed Smoked Duck Breast with Duck Confit and Strawberry-Rhubarb Chutney.   • "We have been for many occasions whenever we visit Carmel areas. excellent romantic dining location. Food was good with notable wine list. The view is spectacular. However, the service is slow and poor. After sitting down for 5 minutes, our waiter finally showed up for drink order. Another ten minute later, he returns with the drinks and ready to take order. We had to asked about the specials. He seems uninterested and unfocused. After the food arrivals, he was slow to check on the food. The management need to work staff service. It us really unfortunate for such a beautiful romantics dining location to be match with a third class cafeteria services. We will definitely not return anytime soon."

  • "We come to Pacific's Edge every year on our trip to Carmel and really look forward to an outstanding meal. This visit provided the same outstanding meal in which we have grown accustomed. However, we were truly disappointed in the level of service provided by our server - Alex. He was incredibly inattentive and frankly, seemed, somewhat disinterested. Time and again we had to wait for an element of service. This experience was truly an anomaly as we normally receive excellent service at Pacific's Edge. This particular visit was especially disappointing but it will not cause us to not return to the restaurant."

  • " Hostess was fabulous, seating us at a lovely corner table with a marvelous view of Pacific and whales jumping. Service was extremely SLOW; dishes presented w/ appetizers stayed on table entire meal. 4 or 5 flies on windows at corner table-- premier table in restaurant. Food VERY pedestrian--overly sauced, salted, and generally not up to what expectations would be for such a lovely venue. Plus, sommelier suggested a bottle of local wine not on the list. We had been discussing wines in $70 price range--very surprised to see bill for $115 bottle of wine! She could have told us that prior to our selection. Probably would still have picked bottle, but not been so surprised."

The view this time was just spectacular, with a pod of whales frolicing in the cove. My wife had the salmon and I had the short rib - both were perfect."

  • "We have been to Pacific Edge many times and have always been thrilled but this experience was horrible. The sommelier came to the table and we ordered a bottle of wine. She poured about an inch in each glass and we never saw her again(had to get up and pour our own wine) The first words our waiter spoke to us were " do you know what you want" He never checked on us to see if everything was ok(some of the food was cold and just ok) then he dropped the desert menus and hit my wife in the shoulder and lap(no apology, just gave us a desert on the house) After we paid the bill which was incorrect at first we asked for the manager to let him know we were disappointed and he was a bigger looser than our waiter."

  • "The story was long and it involved the waiter's or the kitchen's mistake on a vegetable ravioli. We also made a mistake to ask for no cheese too late. By the waiter's attitude was very unfriendly and totally with no respect. Worst of all, he did not listen and talked back as if he has no patient. Very unprofessional. At the end, he came back unexpectedly with what we finally want, but the damage has already been done."

The setting overlooking the Pacific is perfect, service is attentive but not obtrusive, and the food is beautifully prepared and flavorful.   • "We return every year we are near Carmel and it is always a treat. This year was a mess. A bill for two nearly $300. Our waiter was loud, obnoxious, arrogant, and dismissive. We waited 30 minutes for bread. Even longer for water. Our entrees were finished before he showed up to say bon appetite. This restaurant was perfection. The kitchen still is. The rest... Including the general manager who could not comprehend our comments before we left... Was entirely and utterly disappointing. Go for the view and a drink. Skip the meal. So many more deserving establishments."

  • "and great location. My husband and I were staying at the Tickle Pink Inn which is right next door and in walking distance to the resteraunt. We had a fabulous dinner. I wanted to take a desert back to our hotel and they fixed me one (not to worry about the dishes they pick them up from the Inn). When we were leaving we were offered a golf cart ride back to the Inn."

  • "One is prepared to pay for lease value with normal bottles of wine at least twice a distinguished restaurant. Service on this night was a bit off. The busboy did deserve an "extra" handshake as I like to see one hustle and take pride. For prices like these you have to be on your A game all the time. Food was splendid but not over the top. One has to be comfortable in knowing a dinner for two can exceed $500 as you will want to complement your meal with a good bottle or two. Until next time here, Cheers!"

I thought the resturant would be just as nice so I reserved that also. As we walked in around 8:30 we had the most amazing sunset view overlooking the ocean. Priceless! We got a corner table with an incredible view! The wine list was endless and the service was on point. We each had Filet mingon. I can say the best I've ever had. Well worth the cost.   • " We were given a nice table facing the window on the 2nd level where we both had to sit on the same side.The hostess greeted us and said Happy Anniversary and told us it was a special anniversary table. Unfortunately, that evening it wouldn't have mattered where anyone sat as the coast was fogged in. The server took very good care of us. We didn't have to wait long for anything. We each ordered an appetizer. My husband ordered tuna tartar which he said was good. I ordered the heirloom caprese. The tomatoes were not that good. We both ordered steak for our dinner. Mine was a filet. It was good, but not foodie good. My husbands steak was good too. However, We've had great steak elsewhere for a lot less money. The wine list was decent."

  • "A little different life experience but I asked my future mother-in-law for her daughters hand in marriage. She's a single mom and her daughter is her world. I so wanted this night to be her night, for her to feel completely comfortable and special. We arrived and for the first 10 minutes all I heard was her gasping at how amazing and breathtaking this restaurant was. When I made the reservation I requested a table with a view for a special occasion. Little did I know they were seating us at THE TABLE! It was a corner table for two that had te premier seating and view in the entire restaurant! The evening went so much better than I could have ever hoped for.
