My three companions were pleased with their selections: a seafood pasta dish, a ribeye, and the seabass. The seabass was a bit overcooked. We also shared vegetables: roasted asparagus and Chinese beans...delicious and plenty for the table. We were very happy with dessert which was a trio of small offerings. Pacifica Del Mar is relaxed but lovely with views of the Pacific Ocean. The service is always superb, attentive but not overbearing. The menu is always fresh and tempting, and the quantities are big enough to satisfy but small enough not to overstuff. Give me moderate amounts of fresh food any day over heavy breading and sauces. Located in the former "Henry's" plaza, it has convenient parking and is right up the hill from L'uberge and other great night spots. Come, sit, enjoy, and be pampered. Then wander off for a glass at the bar or at another little hot spot in town. But be there at sunset! The lunch menu was excellent and our food and wine were delicious. Even though there were plenty of window tables available and I had made a specific request for one in my reservation, the hostess tried to sit us at at interior table until I asked her about it. Our waiter did something quite strange...He brought us the check after we had finished our entree - We then had to ask him to bring us the dessert menu! It wasn't that they needed the table as it was mid-week and the restaurant wasn't crowded. Each dish was tasty and presented very well. Service started out extremely good, but slacked off somewhat as the meal progressed. By dessert, had to ask for the coffee three times and the check twice. All service people are very mannered and polite. We don't go to Pacifica very often because we reserve it for the special occasions and, frankly, the energy (noise) level can be uncomfortable during peak hours.
Best of all worlds for us was the early-bird special before 6PM. Same great food, although less selection, and we were able to hear each other talk.

I made our reservation online but called the day of to request an ocean view table (which we got). we had not been to.PDM for about 5 years but was very pleased with the service and the food. the wine list is average and the typical 'well known' wines seemed a bit overpriced. there are some finds there though if you know your wine.
The oyster starter was very nice, the swordfish and salmon dishes were vrry good. we skipped dessert.
Overall it is very good as I remembered but not great.

Whether that is owing to our exceptional server or the restaurant's proclivity I don't know. Excellent wine list -- delivered via iPad. The location takes advantage of a beautiful view of the ocean with mostly outdoor seating but heated, so very comfortable. We had one experience where the service was sub-par, but not this time. Anne was attentive and helpful, but not overbearing. Two of us had the salmon, which was excellent. One in our party had the catfish, the other had the swordfish; each was very pleased. We picked a good night: Thursday was half-priced wine by the bottle. There's a good range of wines and prices. We're big fans of Paso Robles...and the 2010 Justin cabernet would have been terrific at the restaurant's regular price, but at half price, it was even better. At a table next to us, the people complained about the hamburgers being too peppery. The waitress immediately offered to take it off the bill and get them something else. When she left to let them look at the menu they kept eating their meal. During the several conversations the waitress had with them, she was very polite and did everything to accommodate them. It was a joyous occasion and he was in uniform. When contemplating dessert, before we even had a chance to order, someone brought out three desserts.
