We two of our oldest friends to the Pacific Grill for a birthday celebration. They had never really dined there before. Once again we thought the steelhead lox was the best thing on the menu. It seems like spicier items are making their way into the food. The Weathervane Scallops for excample had a bit of bite to them, peharps flavors leached out from the squash slaw (a bad idea) piled in the middle of the plate. The scallops have been a family favorite, but will not be ordered again. Have the crab cakes gotten smaller? They seemed expensive for a fifity cent sized portion. Loved the new version of the barbequed pork, served now a little rarer . . . very tender. The prawns should be mostly peeled. I bit off the meat, but left a third.

This could be a great spot, but they need a little polish. The hostess does not bring menus with her when seating, the server brings them over when they first greet the table. We order beverages - unfortunately the cider my husband ordered was not available (server told us they were running low the night prior). We then ordered entrees (him: duck, me: pork tenderloin). I ordered mine medium-rare to medium. When the dishes arrived, the pork was raw, as in blue. I sent it back, and another staff member delivered the now cooked pork. No apology, no visit from a manager, and no attempt at goodwill to correct their mistake (glass of wine, dessert, etc.). Overall the duck and pork tasted good, but the lack of guest satisfaction was alarming.

The deviled eggs were fabulous. Mushroom pate and smoked steelhead far too salty for our taste. $5 happy hour house wine in the bar was very drinkable! Lots of food for the value (50%off most menu items in the bar) although the tables for two are teeny tiny!

Between the two of us we enjoyed the market greens salad, smoked sweet potato salad, flatbread pizza of the day, grilled king salmon and peach sorbet (the latter okay, if not particularly peachy). Service was good and the restaurant itself an interesting place to dine.

We came here for a nice dinner out. PG was extremely noisy and we were seated approx. 8 inches from fellow diners (not so private). I ordered the salmon cakes (which is listed as an appetizer) for my main dish, along with a kale salad because I didn't want a large meal. The server brought my salmon cakes immediately after we ordered, along with my husband's salad. Therefore, I ate my main dish first and my salad later. This is lovely in Europe, but NOT in the US. We felt like the staff was rushed to turn over our table. Our check was brought within an hour of our arrival. My husband liked his duck dinner, but I don't expect that we will be back.

Three hours after setting down for dinner, we were finally fed. Seems like they were catering to a party in another room before anybody else got fed.We were in there on a $100 gift card a friend gave us.Our dinner wasn't the only plate that was late.A couple that sat two tables over had the same experience. We had $16 left on our gift card after dinner.I felt really bad for then, so I gave them the remainder on my card to apply towards their bill. I do not intend to go again or recommend it.

We go to Pacific Grill for when we are looking for a good mix of standbys AND innovative options. The menu has become stagnant and completely lackluster. I think the owner's energies have been channeled too much into SMOKE + CEDAR, which is nothing to write home about itself. Sad to say, we may have to find a new favorite restaurant in Tacoma.

We had three nights out in Tacoma and three more in Seattle last week during an extended business trip. Pacific Grill was far and away the best and was the most reasonably priced of all six. Well trained staff, pleasant finish out of on old building and superb food. As good as we have found on recent trips to any major metro area.

I went as part of a group of 4 to the Pacific Grill on a Tuesday evening; it wasn't too crowded, and we were happy to realize that bottles of wine under $100 were half-off on Tuesday. Each dish we tried, from the oysters (as an appetizer) to the shrimp and grits (a main) to creme brûlée was flavorful and well-prepared.Portions sizes were neither too large nor too small, and the prices were entirely reasonable for the quality of the food. Service was excellent--our energetic, friendly waitress was on the ball at all times.

The ambience of the Pacific Grill was very nice as it is located in and older brick building. Decor was excellent. Service was friendly, personable, and attentive. Food was very, very good. My spouse had the Duck Breast, which was a accompanied by a blueberry sauce. I had the Pork Tenderloin accompanied by cream corn with bacon, jalapenos, and other ingredients. It had a slight Mexican flare to it and the tenderloins were perfectly grilled. We both enjoyed our dinners immensely and we sampled liberally each others plates. We liked it very much and we will return to dine again! Recommended.

Recently moved to the area-our first time to Pacific Grill. Great creative menu with lots of interesting choices-small and large plates available. We ordered several small plates to share with the group. They were all delicious. The smoked steelhead was a real standout. Great service as well. It would be a fun place to sit at the bar and have a drink and snack as well. Good place to bring guests-there is something for everyone here. We had excellent service starting with the hostesses which were very pleasant and attentive. I would venture we had one of the best servers ever. He was knowledgeable and honest about the menu, and he was there when we needed/wanted him but without being obtrusive to our evening. Perfect. Now, the food. Delicious. Two of us had the duck, and it was very good - cooked as requested and tasty, though I would like the fat to be rendered out (I just put it to the side). One had the pork tenderloin, and it was fantastic; moist and perfectly cooked, and the creamed corn had great depth of flavor (w/bacon & jalapeño). The Steak Frites, delicious. Don't miss the Broccoli Cauliflower Fritto, a unique and amazing great shareable side. Fabulous!

We were looking for sophisticated seafood at the end of our stay in the Puget Sound area and Pacific Grill delivered. Both wife's steelhead and my clam linguine were well prepared and very satisfying. The wine list was WA and OR - centric, with many potential good choices.
