Diner Reviews
  • "Almost perfect restaurant, we came in (party of 4 including infant) and we where seated very quick! Food came in fast it's almost a fast gourmet yet healthy food. There where lot of other babies and a complete mix of ages, races, etc. a true melting pot! We where so impressed especially with falvours of our dishes and available variety. Staff was super friendly and efficient, yet they provided relaxing atmosphere. We love love this place and it's the best kid friendly we have ever been to. We'll be back for more"

  • "Traditional Hawaiian poke is unbelievable atop the Veggie Salad! It's not on the menu (only as two separate items). A great place for healthy and good food. Good choice of wines too. It looks a bit like a family place but its perfectly fine for a date. They even have a small parking lot (don't tell anyone)."

  • "Hey it was a Friday night and during lent, Fish it is! The salmon special was delicious and they were kind enough to switch our the white rice for the brown rice. The fried Kombucha squash was very tasty. My friend had the same dish and we were both very pleased. The only thing that bothers us is that they tax on the Healthy tax which is very odd."

  • "Fried oysters, shrimp and fish basket really great. Fish tacos were good with small yummy sides. The menu has a good variety at various price points which is great for groups and sharing dishes. We had a great experience. And the waitstaff is very toddler-friendly!"

  • "The title says it all. It looked like early bird special for kids! Surrounded by large tables of kids, glasses breaking, voices shreiking, and I was there to celebrate a friends birthday!! Then the food was cold, cold fries, fish undercooked, and they forgot a few things. The best part is the waitress was amazing! She was able to accomodate our requests and finally was generous with the bill since so many things went wrong it was the right thing for her. Some restaurants do not always admit failure. So, I am glad that they softened the blow by treating us to a few items but I will never go back unless I am desperate for a cocktail and just have to have fish and fast after a walk in the park! Not likely to happen any time soon......."

  • "We took some friends from out of town for dinner and everyone enjoyed their meals - salmon, swordfish and assorted tacos. We all shared an order of sweet potato fries. - a big favorite! Server was attentive and helpful. Liked that we had a booth in the back so that it wasn't too noisy. I really like this place for lunch too."

  • "Just delicious. The fish was nicely cooked. I order two fillets but would loved to day four! Service waspleasamt and friendly. I can't wait to go back. I am glad there was a parking spot in their small lot for us."

  • "A prime location since it is right at the outlet of the main drive from major Golden Gate Park attractions. Great high windows with a very open environment feel. Other than location and venue I dont have too much else to rave about. We ordered the bowls and it was pretty costly for what we got in return. So you order these pre made bowls based on the cuisine theme (Korean/Hawaiian/etc) which amounts to about $13-15 and it comes with no proteins! There is a supplemental charge for the protein of our choice. When the bowl came out it was a decent size but filled with rice.... vegetables were decent-to-minimal, I had to ask for extra. Supplemental protein portions were just upsetting. I would have preferred Park Chow a few meters down."

  • "Pacific Catch is the perfect spot for ending that day on the west side of the San Francisco peninsula. Enjoy the Golden Gate Bridge Visitors Center, then stroll Golden Gate Park, planning to end at the bottom of Martin Luther King drive. Right there is a great seafood restaurant that will seem like relief to your overall trip budget even while the food is amazing you. Then, a one-block walk to the Muni train has you back at Powell and Market in twenty minutes. Unbeatable."

  • "U haven't been to this restaurant for a while. We decided to come because it opens late. We were bascially the last table and they were out of sandwiches and soup. The food is better than what I remember. It's a bit on the expensive side for that kinda food. But overall it was good. I would come back again."

  • "The lettuce in the salad was soggy. Either it was overdressed or had been sitting too long before being served."

  • "The today's fresh catch entree had tiny portion of swordfish or mahi-mahi."

  • "I enjoyed my lunch with friends. Two of us loved the sunset rolls and the third had a delicious and hearty salad topped with fresh fish."

  • "They do not appreciate Dine-In customers! Our Party had a reservation at 11am when they opened-- 4 adults,3 toddlers. We placed our orders immediately after water was given to us. We were seated right in front of the kitchen so it was hard to forget us...but they were too busy cooking and packaging their large take-out orders. We had three 1-2 year old toddlers that were starving. An hour is ridiculous to make your customer wait, especially when there are hungry kids. They didn't even start making our order until after I asked for it. I an never returning to this restaurant again."

  • "Not that many seafood places in SF, this one right near GGP is a good one, nice selection, great service, and a good place to eat and talk."

  • "A couple of things; the staff was great and quite good at their job,s the food however wasn't anything that I would recommend, and the noise level was so high that my date and I could not have a conversation. I had the swordfish which was a small piece of fish on a much to thick layer of sticky rice. My date's tacos were not anything to write home about."

  • "Lunch with friends from out of town. Great spot to eat before heading to Golden Gate Park. We all had Blood Orange Margarita's! Excellent drink! Followed by Fish & chips combo - oysters, coconut shrimp and cod. All flavors unique and delicious. The service was outstanding. Very attentive server. Cannot wait to go back again."

  • "Waited forever for food and had to ask for everything...refill drink, sugar for tea, salt and pepper. Busy day but no apologies."

  • "Pretty good cocktails and fish although I wish there would be a bit more variety in terms of fish offered."

  • "This restaurant was more casual than we expected - definitely not romantic or elegant. But the food and service were good."

  • "Great food, great happy hour, kid friendly, great staff , great wine list. What more do you want?? Tuesday happy hours have 1/2 off on bottles of wine. They don't have a prix fix menu but they do have a full bar ,a great wine list & the February menu has many crab specialties. If you are going to the De Young Museum or the Aquarium, it is within walking distance. I hesitate to recommend it as it is a local special place."

  • "I love Pacific Catch. I have been there a lot of times and this night was particularly good. The crab dumplings are to die for and our server Adriana was very nice and just made the evening even more pleasant."

  • "Our son requested this restaurant for his 6th birthday...and we all loved the food, and hospitality."

  • "The food was okay, typical chain food. I had the crab melt and it was a bit greasy and a little overpriced. You can get better fish tacos at a taco truck."

  • "The poke salad is unbelievable - order the trio for some less traditional variations. Very friendly service - our waiter was really helpful checking ingredients for my sister who has food allergies"

  • "Our meal was okay. Maybe it would have been better if we had made other selections. The location is popular."

  • "Got seated promptly at our reservation time. Everyone in our group of 4 enjoyed the meal--appetizer, rice bowls, salads, and tacos. It was not too loud to have a conversation, but it was close--you really had to concentrate at a table near the kitchen in the open room with no acoustic noise limitations."

  • "Service was slow. Then they brought soup and entrees at the same time! and expressed surprise that we didn't think that appropriate."

  • "We went to Pacific Catch after seeing an exhibit at the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park, as Pacific Catch is just outside of the Park on 9th and Lincoln. The food is very good, and the wait staff was equally good. An added bonus is the small parking lot they have next to the restaurant. We enjoyed our dinner very much and highly recommend Pacific Catch."

  • "This is a good place for lunch. Great location for the museum and you can walk from the museum. They do have parking. The food was good well priced. Fish tacos were good and so was the fish and chips sweet potato fries. If we were in the neighborhood I would go again."

  • "Great neighborhood place for locals and tourists. The Californian feel where the menu was healthy and everyone was laid back was just the perfect thing we were looking for after a day of hiking and sightseeing. The food portions are HUGE yet the prices were reasonable. Our leftovers would not keep in our hotel so we made a homeless guy down by the wharf thrilled that he was going to have a warm meal that evening. This place was nice and we really enjoyed our meal."

  • "Second time for lunch here while visiting the Cal Academy. Food is excellent in quality and preparation, portions generous. Note: this place packs out, so be sure to make reservations. Service can get in the weeds if you do not arrive early."

  • "This is one of my favorite lunch spots. It's great for getting together with friends, since it's big enough that we don't feel we're rude if we have a two hour or so lunch - time to chat, maybe exchange presents, and ask the waitress to take photos. The food is good and there are a variety of dishes for different tastes. I usually stick with the fish tacos and my husband prefers the ahi sandwich. There are also rice bowls which can be made lighter by asking for salad to replace half the rice, and fish plates. We prefer lunch since we enjoy parking in Golden Gate Park and walking to and from the restaurant. The area is difficult for finding parking, worse so in the evening, and the restaurant's parking lot is very small."

  • "We ate here on a Friday nite. The food and staff were wonderful, but the place is a little edgy and the neighborhood is a lot edgy. Our car window was broken and our camera was stolen. Silly us to leave it exposed, but I wasn't looking to be in an area where I needed to worry quite so much."

  • "Pacific Catch continues to be a very good choice for a neighborhood restaurant. The salmon and beef teriyaki bowl is very filling and I even had leftovers for the next meal."

  • "My book group always has dinner here before our meetings. It is a real delight and always reliable"

  • "Pacific Catch is a great neighborhood restaurant that has fast service and a great menu. It's a perfect place for a group, or a family with children, but also a great cheap date spot. The food is always fresh and well prepared, not to mention quickly served."

  • "small portions for the price. Service was extremely helpful, mgr discounted our tab which we appreciated. Still the restaurant is pricey, albeit not particularly relaxing with the pounding music, due to the small protein accompanied by mounds of rice."

  • "Enjoyed my previous first dining experience there back in late March (poke rice bowl) far more than his time. Wanting something different than the mixed basket ordered by the other two in our party, I had the calamari appetizer and single serving of poke as my meal. The poke was ok, however, the calamari was quite lacking in substance. The pieces of calamari were so small and thinly sliced that it was mostly fried batter/coating with not much calamari. Probably should have ordered a fish dinner instead."
