Diner Reviews
  • "1/2 of our groups meals arrived cold. Manager offered to redo them, but after a long wait for the food, we said no thank you. They took those items off our bill. Our experience was ruined with cold food, extremely noisy and top it off with a server with no personality that seemed to be unhappy to be at work. we won't go back for quite sometime, hoping they fix some flaws of a new restaurant."

  • "Easy to make reservations; fun staff; pleasant outdoors seating; refreshingly cool indoor seating; vibrant bar but casual ambiance made for relaxing time with friends over tasty lunch."

  • "It was my first time eating here. I enjoyed the restaurant interior as well as the atmosphere. I like the food selection that they had. It had great variety. Portions were good, and food quality was good to. Overall had a good experience and we'll try it again some time."

  • "Literally and figuratively. On the one side, it is kind of in a parking lot, but they have done a great job making it feel like a neighborhood city type of restaurant. the outside dining was fun. Nice decor that definitely puts it a step above the local chains. Friendly staff. We went for a birthday dinner and got a nice booth for 6 in the corner outside."

  • "Excellent menu with tasty, diverse seafood offerings. Some fine beers on tap, but the "specialty" cocktails are a joke, basically lots of fruit juice and syrups mixed with minimal amounts of alcohol...over-priced and dilute. The major problem with this place is the unrelenting upselling that goes on from the moment you sit down...the waiters (pretty much all of them, as i've been there a dozen times in the past three months) pressure you to buy cocktails, the highest priced items on the menu, and desserts. I imagine there's a team meeting in the restaurant before each shift and the manager pleads, "Sell, sell, sell!" like a used car salesman. Luckily, you can just ignore them and enjoy the very good food!"

  • "We went for the first time and were seated outside because an indoor table was not immediately available (in spite of our reservation...turned out Paul Martin's had a fire which forced both restaurants to be temporarily evacuated) so they were a bit behind). We both had a seared Ahi rice bowl. At Nicole's suggestion we both had half rice and half salad. It was delicious! The tuna was seared perfectly and the dressing was delicious. Half and half is the way to go on this dish."

  • "Timing seems to be an issue...ordered cocktails first ...but appetizers arrived way before cocktails, then as appetizers were cleared, main course came. So, a problem with the bar, The kitchen, the server? We were seated on the patio."

  • "Good fish selection. Fish very fresh fish and healthy ingredients. Good combinations of tastes. Excellent wine selection. Service is very attentive and food comes fast!"

  • "I've eaten here twice and had the Hawaiian poke both times -- this time I had the mix and match with ceviche. Loved it. My friend had the salmon salad which she said was superb. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes."

  • "We had the salmon entree, poke (3 styles), sushi roll, and cocoanut shrimp with sweet potato fries. All were OK, but low in flavor. In particular, the poke marinades overwhelmed the raw tuna. The marinade on the original and hazelnut poke tasted the same - like a commercial teryaki sauce and very salty with no other flavor. The "California" poke tasted mainly of mayonnaise with no flavor from the "crab" - in fact, the "crab" (which is typically a textured fish) wasn't recognizable in flavor or texture. Service was OK, but the waiter was very insistent that we order his favorite variety of poke and then very insistent that we agree that we liked it. Prices were high for the food served and food was not as good as at many MV restaurants."

  • "Great food and service, easy to make reservations for a group. I enjoyed the large menu and variety of options, from apps to rice bowls to big salads. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality and service."

  • "This place is very, very loud: people must yell to hear each other while sitting at the same table, and even screaming children had trouble being noticed by their parents! There are two, small outside tables; I would recommend eating at those for a quiet evening (the scenery is basically a parking lot, however). The food is incredible, and might be worth it at a less busy time or for take-out (or if you can get an outdoor seat)."

  • "Food and service were good, a little loud, screaming kid behind us for most of our meal but the restaurant was not at fault."

  • "We had a family gathering and sat in a corner booth which worked out great. The soup of the day was delicious and had a good amount of seafood in it. The broth was tasty with a little kick which was perfect for me. The fish of the day was large and served on beautiful purple rice, bright carrots, and yummy mushrooms. The salmon teriyaki rice bowl was delicious without the fish being overcooked. The service was attentive. The decor was nice and comfortable. We will be back!"

  • "Went to PC for the first time this week and was super impressed. Nice ambiance, great food. Poke was the best we have had since Kona, fish tacos ad curry bowl were outstanding. Want to go back and try more!"

  • "First time at Pacific Catch and could not have been more pleased! Everything about our experience there was delightful! When entering the restaurant we were all taken with the understated yet lovely decor. It set the stage for the most delicious food any of has had at a restaurant in a very long time. We were immediately served a small dish of edamame and small fish crackers. I ordered the rice bowl with marinated steak. The steak was tender and tasty while the vegetables were cooked to perfection. Another in our group had the fish tacos along with sweet potato fries which she also greatly enjoyed. Our bottle of chardonnay was crisp and delicious. The service was the perfect mix of attentive yet not over-bearing."

  • "I have been twice in this restaurant. First time we wait 20 minutes to get a place in the waiting list and only 2 couples were before as. Second time, I made a reservation for 2. After 30 min of waiting, I cancel my appetizer. The entre was served 50 min after ordered. Nobody offered us silverware, and I had to stand up and require a couple. The floor was dirty, there was not good light. In my opinion the price is too high for the poor service. I would not recommend this place to anybody."

  • "Looked forward to first meal at new location in Mt. View. We had eaten at the SF & Campbell locations previously and have enjoyed the meals. Appetizers were great: Hawaiian Poke (flavorfully marinated, wish we had more chips to eat with the poke) & calamari (perfectly battered & fried with the tasty spicy chipotle aioli). I ordered the Canadian salmon special and really enjoyed the mushroom/beans sauce with rice and salad. My kids ordered California Roll Salad (esp with miso dressing instead of ginger) and Fish & Chips. Kids loved their sparkling agave lemonade and appreciated the refills. My husband ordered the Hawaiian Teriyaki salmon bowl & beer. He liked his dish very much and would consider ordering it again. Yum!"

  • "This is a welcome addition to grown-up yet "mature kid"-friendly dining in Mountain View. Firstly, the decor is gorgeous: calm earth tones, wood inlays, waterfall panels. Secondly, the fusion is executed with sophistication: fresh, creative takes on Pacific dishes like Hawaiian poke blends well with Asian cuisines from Japanese to Korean. Thirdly, the service was impeccable: our server gave a clear orientation to the menu, gave thoughtful but not overbearing suggestions, and made it clear that almost any substitution was possible. We tried the Rice and Salad Bowls with a variety of proteins: all delicious and generously portioned. We also tried Fish and Chips (lovely tempura batter, well executed fries) and Salmon Sandwich (also great)."

  • "I have been to the Pacific Catch restaurants in San Francisco and Campbell and enjoyed them very much. I was excited when they opened up the restaurant in Mountain View which is closer to home but what a disappointment. Even though we had a reservation it took them 15 minutes to seat us. We were a party of 5, and we all agreed that the food was fair at best. I will not go back."

  • "This is a loud, boisterous place. Lots of activity. I can see where younger people would love it. The menus all had food spots on them which was a bit ick. You can really change up the menu to very healthy renditions which was great. Lots of choice! Slow service though and our appetizer came out after our entree."

  • "The first time I dined at the MV location, I was not impressed with the food. However, I have been back twice, and have really enjoyed the dishes I ordered. The service has always been good; and not on a negative note, but maybe a little too eager or efficient. The only thing that I found strange is, I had reservations and there were four of us and we were seated at a small table. However, a friend of mine didn't have a reservation; there were two adults and a child, and they were seated a larger table. It's not a big deal, but it's a detail that I noticed. Overall, I will continue to dine here, because I like the location and my overall dining experiences have been enjoyable."

  • "Enjoyed a wonderful rice bowl with Thai curry and Shrimp satay for lunch. Large portion of shrimp on 3 skewers. Loved the option of 1/2 brown rice and 1/2 greens as the base. Food was served promptly, tasty, seasoned well. Want to come back and try other items on the menu. Nice selection of daily specials."

  • "We've been to Pacific Catch several times after first discovering this restaurant. There's a great outdoor patio, nice bar area and large dining room. The food is excellent - the first visit was sushi - and the California rolls use real crab (which most restaurants do not use). The rolls were large and really delicious. We chose brown rice and that made the rolls even nicer. We also tried the firecracker shrimp and the "Inside Out" rolls (California roll inside and ahi outside), extra yummy. The next visit was to try their fish and the California swordfish was excellent. We tried one of the bowls and a salad - great size portions and very well prepared. Excellent service and complimentary sparking water. Highly recommended."

  • "From the beginning to the end, all well done. Our party of four gave high marks. The calamari appetizer was exceptional. I ordered the two piece fish & chips. Since the pieces were small, the chef added a third piece with no extra charge. From my husband's dinner, I sampled bites of a fried oyster and a coconut shrimp. Excellent quality. The slaw on my order was tasty. The dipping sauce for the fish & chips was perfect. The spices were spot on, the outdoor seating was comfortable, and our server - J. was knowledgable, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the dining experience. I will definitely go back and I have already told friends about it."

  • "I was so pleasantly surprised at the food, excellent server Myceau and attentive manager! I sat outside on a beautiful day and the atmosphere and food were fabulous. I usually don't go to what I perceive as a chain restaurant but this one was different and I will definitely be back."

  • "If you like sushi or sashimi, you will like the menu. Otherwise it is a bit limited as PC focuses on bringing only fresh fish to its menu. Gorgeous modern decor, good service, but the entire dining experience is ruined by the deafening level of noise. "
