  • "For those looking for a great place for a date, outing with friends, or even just to grab a quick bite with a great view, this is DEFINITELY the place. Ambiance, decor, food, and service are unparalleled. Some might find it slightly more expensive but it is definitely worth it."

  • "My first experience at Ozumo was many years ago. I have taken friends there when visiting and have yet to be disappointed. I am always excited to order a Giddy Geisha martini. Not too sweet…a perfect balance. I try to order something new and different every time. Every time I am pleasantly surprised. Make reservations to be seated with a beautiful view for a romanic meal or hang out in the sake lounge for a vibrant night out!"

  • "I loved the sake menu. It was fun and educational! The dining menu was clean and easy to understand, with colorful descriptions that made choosing dinner almost as good as eating it. Overall, great experience!"

  • "I book the table for for 25th and the restaurant has 26th so I didn't get a nice table. Don't know if the system was messed up"
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "Great place, creative dishes, great sake list, very fresh. Even with a large team of chefs, they seem to manage quality very well. The servers are well educated on all the items on the menu (at least the ones I have had) and are attentive. Expensive so be fore warned. But to me it's worth the price for the overall quality."

  • "The sushi was super fresh, well prepared, and the less traditional preparations were also very tasty! We enjoyed the view of the lights show on the Bay Bridge from our table. The modern decor and minimalist style make for a pleasurable experience."

  • "This is a great place I will definitely be returning to. The fish was very fresh and the hamachi appetizer is a must try!!! Service was amazing. The drinks were good, and the cream puff dessert completed the meal. 5 star any day in my book. I recommend making a reservation, we were 20 minutes early and they were still able to seat us right away."

  • "The service was impecable as always. My dining companion was *25* minutes late. I ordered for her and that was fine, she ordered multiple cocktails when she arrived, and it was all super-cool. Plus, the food... thank you so much for an easy and forgiving dining experience!"

  • "Amazing Place, Happening bar scene, awesome menu, WOW view! It has it all. The sushi was sooo yummy and fresh. The risotto/shrimp dish was so scrumptious! Everything was just over the top good! Go GO Go."

  • "The notable wine list is to recognize their extensive sake selections. The rolls we had (especially the lobster roll) were some of the best I have ever had."

  • "This was our first time to Ozumo and it was amazing! We had heard rave reviews about Ozumo from friends and they were right! We will definitely go back the next time we are in San Francisco! Everything was so fresh and our waitress was awesome. Ozumo is a must if you have never been and are looking for awesome Sushi!!!"

  • "Loved the food. Everything was amazing save for some very burnt veggies. The rolls are only a few pieces instead of your standard 6 or 8 pieces. But that's more about managing your expectations. The nigiri was fantastic and fresh."

  • "Our waiter, Andrew was great. He provided us with great food and sake recommendations. We ended up going there again the next night and requesting him again. Great food, great drink, great time..."

  • "Ozumo is one of, if not the, best restaurants in all of SF. Amazing food is only topped off by the amazing staff. From the hostess, to the bar, to the wait staff, you will never be disappointed. Being a huge 'wine guy', I respect how they treat patrons who don't know Sake and their willingness to help please everyone at the table is wonderfully refreshing. The sushi is some of the best you will ever eat, as are their steaks. And make sure you get the tempura-fried vegetables and the Dohyo (Spicy Tuna Tartare)."

  • "We got off to a slightly rough start as we were first seated in the room in between the bar and the main restaurant. When asked if it was possible to move as I mentioned my friend was visiting from NYC and I'd been raving about the restaurant to him, the hostess relocated us in a corner behind where all the waiters were picking up orders. I couldn't believe it. Luckily, we asked again, this time to a friendly server walking by, and finally were taken to a table in the beautiful main dining room. Ozumo can charge more because it's got great ambience as well as amazing food. Once we got settled in, we had a fantastic time and the sushi/seafood didn't disappoint. DEFINITELY ask to be seated in the main room when making a reservation!"

  • "Trying to stop here every time I'm in town in the food never disappoints. The black cod is to die for"

  • "...my #1 choice in the city when friends visit from out of town. The sake menu is astonishing. The service is excellent. The izakaya-style menu lets you order to share or not... and the food is... wow. Not inexpensive but worth every dollar. If you book early, you might be able to secure a view of the Bay Bridge light show - regardless, the ambiance is great and you won't feel slighted wherever you sit. Highly recommended for couples, friends and business dinners."

  • "To start with the bar staff was perhaps the least attentive in San Francisco in a while... and that's saying a lot. There were 2 bartenders and only 5 people, which included me and it took me nearly 10 minutes to order a drink, then when one did take my order he came back nearly 5 minutes asking me again because he'd forgotten. Then the drink wasn't even that great - what bartender in a nice restaurant in SF doesn't know how to make an old fashioned? The place, while well appointed is horribly lit, It's brighter than a fast food joint - no mood lighting at all. The food was OK. For the insane prices, I've had better. Simply not what I'd expect at that price point, in San Francisco. And honestly the Oakland location does a better job."

  • "Great place to get sushi. Menu selection was fantastic and everything we ate was fabulous. Would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a great place to eat in San Francisco"

  • "great waiter and great saki list with very informative employees, especially the saki director...dinner for three with tip was $450, expensive"

  • "I took my girlfriend out to Ozumo for Valentine's day, and it was definitely a great experience. We showed up at our reserved time and got seated immediately. Our table was a little off-balance, and without asking, our server fixed it within 30 seconds. The sushi was very fresh and extremely delicious. We had the Super Dragon and few others I can't quite remember at the moment, but everything was great. We sat in the back of the restaurant where we had a slight view of the Bay Bridge at night --- very cool indeed. Highly recommended to try this place out at least once if you like Sushi."

  • "This was one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to."
    Dined on 2/12/2014
  • "Not the best sushi I've ever had, especially given the prices, but tolerable. Decent decor. Very loud, popular spot, so I would say more appropriate if downtown for work than if looking for good sushi with a significant other or friends."

  • "I enjoyed the 5 Star Service!!! The Sushi, Tiger Prawns, oh and the Sake, all Heaven!!"
    Dined on 2/10/2014
  • "This is the real deal with a twist. The sushi chefs prepared the nigiri in thin, bite size pieces, so you can still look civilized while eating! The flavors are clean and fresh. Although you will find a lot of creativity, you won't find anything heavy on the sauce. This is traditional sushi kicked up a couple of notches. My fave."
    Dined on 2/10/2014
  • "We sat at the bar and sushi chefs were rude and wanted nothing to do with us. I asked a question and was snubbed. I thought the point of sitting at the sushi bar was to engage with the chefs. Not so here. The server was very unfriendly too. I would never sit at the bar again here."

  • "Sushi was not fresh tasting. Didn't even finish all of it. No decent nama sake. Wagyu lacked a good sear. Better off at Roka Akor."

  • "I was introduced to Ozumo years ago when I was visiting from London. It's got fantastic sushi and a great ambience! I've taken my dates here before and they've always been impressed. The bar is fantastic and is very conducive to meeting new people as well! Service is always fantastic here!"

  • "I was thoroughly unimpressed with the entire experience. As I waited in the bar for my date, I had my usual Macallan on the rocks. The bartenders were not unfriendly, but not friendly either. Once my date arrived, I actually had to call someone over to get her served a drink after about 5-7 minutes. They were not busy. An acceptable wine was recommended, and then we were off to our table. A stale feel, with a wonderful view of the kitchen was our ambience. The bar area was much better. As for the food, I've honestly had better sushi in LA at an all you can eat. The tuna tartare was recommended by all the staff, and it was the best part of the meal, but that's not saying much. One word to describe the $200 bill for two people - BLAND."
