"Oysters are fantastic here and go well with their $7 classic martinis on Friday nights. It's rare to find 6 different cooked preparations for oysters on one menu and the "buck a shuck" is a great value. And how could it not be romantic, when you are sharing oysters in a cozy space?"

"This is a tiny, tucked away little bar. Reservations are recommended.. they literally can only seat maybe 20-25 people, and run out of fresh oysters quickly on Friday evenings. But you can not beat "buck a shuck" 4-7 p.m. in downtown Vancouver. If you have to leave work early.. do so!"

"It was good. Food was creatively served and the specials made you feel that you were getting good value for your money. The place is simply a small lounge. Cozy and quiet with no TV running sports highligts. Wish this simple concept would come to my neighbourhood."

"The oysters were terrific and it's rare to find 6 preparations of cooked oysters on a menu - and yes, all were delicious. Raw oysters were shucked fresh and wonderful too. Our only disappointment was the steamer bowl of mixed clams, scallops and prawns (they were out of mussels) - broth was too salty and it affected the scallops and prawns which ended up being too hard and rubbery. Such a shock compared to the delicious oysters! This is a great place for a light meal or place to relax after work with a drink and oysters."

"We arrived right after the 4:00 opening on a rainy Saturday afternoon and had the place to ourselves for over an hour. The experience couldn't have been better. It was the sort of experience that someone has only a few times in his or her life; and I'm glad that we had the opportunity to experience it."

"This restaurant is very small! There is an oyster bar and may eight tables. Unless you know a lot about Vancouver/BC Canadian oysters you are okay, but the staff is rushing about that it is a bit hard to get an education or straight forward and detailed answers (you would think that they would know a lot about oysters... As a wine bar would know a lot about wines) Again, really small place (definitely get a reservation) but the ambience is amazing! I is a very swanky oyster raw bar!"

"I had high expectations after reading all the good reviews. However, the service was terrible. They did not ask us if we wanted anything to drink for at least 15 minutes - and they finally asked about 5 minutes after we ordered our food. Oysters took a very long time.When the oysters came, no sauces came with them and we had to ask for them (because we saw the next table had all kinds of sauces). Nobody ever bothered to ask if we were pleased with the food and drink (we had problems with one dish and one drink), nor did anyone notice that we did not touch the drink. No "thank you" either when they gave us the bill. Worst service I've seen ever."
