Oyster Club was the perfect spot on a cold stormy pre-Thanksgiving eveving. Great oysters and drinks- the crispy Tofu was too salty but balanced by he bed of daikon slaw. The stuffed veal confit was flavorful and tender but the cannelloni beans were overlooked and didn't complement the dish. Great desserts and the best crusty bread make up for any food shortcomings. We look forward to our next evening here.

Fine meal overall. Started with a selection of oysters that were uber-fresh and nicely displayed, followed by skate and monkfish entrees that were elegantly-prepared. The skate had a nice, crisp and crunchy coating and the monkfish sides included a tempura-like serving of brussel sprouts that were very yummy. Chef is not afraid to use salt! Wine selection is good but seemed a bit pricey. Parking is often a problem, but since this visit was in November we parked right in front. A first! Will definitely go back. enu changes constantly because of local sourcing so every trip means something new....

We loved the rustic ambiance and the service but the food was just okay. My main course, which was described as a "favorite" was incredibly salty for my taste. We will probably not return as there are so many very good restaurants in Mystic.

Once again we were not disappointed by The Oyster Club - it was a Monday night and packed! The staff handled the crowd flawlessly - service is beautifully orchestrated without appearing stuffy or robotic. The food - chowder and beet vegetable soup as a first course, flounder and scallops as an entre- was interesting without seeming contrived and wonderfully flavorful. Don't miss the house-made ice cream.

I was visiting Mystic over the weekend. The meal that my boyfriend and I had was delish! I had the tuna. It was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the hamburger rare with a fried egg. It was the best burger I ever tasted. The burger was seared or encrusted with salt and pepper. We also had Bloody mary's. They were great too. I just wish this restaurant was nearby. I would be there all the time. I am definitely going back.

Visited this place on the off season (it's in historic Mystic and I suppose it is even better in season with outdoor seating).....it was wonderful. We drove down from the Hartford area for dinner on a wed night and loved it so much we went back for sun brunch the following sunday. Great food, great coffee, great classic new england shoreline town with small shops and a great deal of charm.

This is a review on Brunch on Sunday. Very welcoming staff and good service. The dining room isn't fancy but the quality of food is great. Downside is there are only a few brunch dishes on their lunch menu. We ordered French toast and egg & pork dish. French toast is fabulous with thick country bread with crunchy crust so that the crust part isn't so soggy under caramel and chocolate sauces with whipped cream. Looks very rich and sweet but the chocolate sauce and whipped cream were not sweetened. The fried egg and the pork (big bacon) were also great that came with potato pancake(?) which was also very good. (Note: egg dish does not come w/ toast so you need to order separately.) Their coffee is dark and strong the way I like it. We were happy with everything. We'd be back for dinner for certain next time we're back in this lovely town.

We picked Oyster Club from the Yelp reviews, and we were not disappointed. The menu is small, changes daily, and features local farm and sea to table ingredients. We had Clam Chowder, Scallops, Mussels and Yellowfin Tuna, along of course with Oysters. In each case, the food was wonderfully fresh, and the presentation intelligently highlighted the fresh flavors. Pairing Scallops with a light, simple puree of butternut squash, brought out nice notes in both. The service complemented the very well done meal. Casual, but attentive. Water and wineglasses were refilled without intrusion. We had a 8:15 reservation on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was full. We were seated and contemplating menus by 8:22. I was impressed.

The best meal I have had at a resturaunt by far, the NY strip was perfectly cooked, we also had the clam chowder that was loaded with potatoes, clams and a perfect amount of bacon, it was smooth and not to creamy, my husband had oysters and loved them, the server also brought us a champagne toast for our anniversary.

I guess with the name "Oyster Club" I thought I would have an array of dishes featuring them. I do not eat raw oysters and the only option was for an appetizer of fried oysters. They were simply ok. Also, my friend and I just didn't care to drink that night and I felt a distinct negativity from the waitress when we simply wanted a diet coke.....FYI, we can afford wine, we just don't feel like drinking alcohol at every meal. Enjoyed our travels all throughout New England, but this was pretty much a disappointment. Not bad, but not great either..

The Oyster Club is a special find for those who love great food made with love. The oysters and clams were pristine -- plump, expertly opened, and glistening in their liquor. The seared yellowtail was a revelation -- barely touched by the flame and melting in the mouth. The tagliatelle with beef ragu tasted of the barnyard and the homemade noodles were cooked just right -- the way you wish your grandma made them. We stumbled on this on our way to see our son at MIT and it was a pleasure in every way. The atmosphere is a bit like an old sea shack with wood-paneled walls and friendly but not obtrusive service....one of those terrific serendipities of life.

Oyster Club is by far the best restaurant in Southeastern CT. In fact it might be the best in the whole state and even New England. I live in Mystic and my parent's visited for the weekend. I took them to the Oyster Club. First, the bread was fresh baked and amazing. Second, we ordered the mussels to share. They were fantastic and the broth they came in was outstanding. I wanted to drink it. It was perfect for dipping the bread in. My mom ordered the catch of the day (I believe it was haddock). My mom is the slowest eater in the world and never finishes her meal. She inhaled it! She let me taste it and it was fresh and very tasty. My dad and I had the pasta with ragu sauce. It was better than most Italian places I've been too.

I have enjoyed dining at the Oyster Club ever since they opened. The past two times, however, I have found the food excessively salty. Happy hour has oyster for $1 each. They were great! We sat @ the bar for drinks & oyster. Then, we went to the dinning room for dinner. there, it was a different story. My RI chowder was very salty. My wife's NE chowder was good; light & creamy, but a lot of potatoes. My pasta was so salty I didn't eat it. My wife's shrimp & grits was also very salty. No one tastes want they prepare. They gave us a free desserts; big deal! We been there before & had a good experience, but time it was poor.
