Diner Reviews
  • "My sisters and I celebrate our birthday's at whatever restaurant the bday girl chooses. It was my choice and since I had previously had an overall wonderful evening at Oyster Bay I had to return. The oysters, small plates, wine, and fresh fruit crushes that we enjoyed at the bar would have enough however we were doing dinner------the steaks were better than "the steak" restaurants. The crabcakes and Greek salad were equally as good. The service matched the quality of the food. I am a bar kind of girl and loved it. Thanks for making my bday memorable. I will be back many times!"

  • "Oyster Bay Grille exceeded our expectations at every level. Surprisingly, it was not crowded this past Sunday due to the weather. This made for a quiet atmosphere and the service by Jeff was very personal. The prix fixe menu and the Greek Restaurant Week menu were superb. The 14 oz. New York Strip was perfectly prepared and the Lamb shank was totally delicious and huge…..Thank you for a wonderful dining experience."

  • "We were greeted warmly by the owner and seated in a comfortable booth. Apps and entrees were all delicious, with the highly recommended fresh rockfish filet being over the top , the best seafood entree I have had in many years. We would go back in a heartbeat."

  • "I have been to Oyster Bay Grille a few times in the last month. The food has been consistently delicious! The salmon burger is yummy! I also love the Greek Salad. The brownie sundae is one of the best I have ever tasted! Highly recommend this gem."

  • "Service at the bar as well as at the table was great! Food was delicious and the happy hour menu as well as the prix fixe menu made everything very affordable. Great oyster selection. Very good steaks."

  • "Valet parking, nice hostess, friendly bartender, trained waiter , great menu and delicious food! And you can talk to your friends at the table! Most restaurants are way to noisy this one was busy but comfortable and made for a most enjoyable evening."

  • "Service was a bit slow and disorganized, however our server was friendly and very knowledgable about the menu. She was open to disclosing some of her hidden favorites and for the most part did not disappoint. The scallop app was a great portion with large, succulent scallops; however the sage and Parmesan cream sauce it was bathing in could use some work (a little thin and not much flavor). The crab soup was great with a considerable amount of crab meat on top for garnish. Steaks were cooked a little under what we had ordered, but my date and I didn't mind as the char grill on them was flavorful as well as the sauce. Desert was delicious; the cheesecake took a different take with tangy goat cheese and wasn't too sweet."

  • "We really wanted to like this new place. It's difficult to find, but once there, a valet parks your car. The inside is stunning in decor. However, the food (crab bents) is not great. Those little crab balls (I forget the actual name) are advertised as containing crab and corn. I could taste neigher; they were like fried dough balls. The cold lobster with hot butter sauce was a little tough. In fairness to the restaurant, we didn't try any of their main entrees, so perhaps we were just ordering the wrong things. There's a lot of potential here, but it's not there yet. We wish it well!"

  • "Had a great dinner on a Saturday night. Made reservation through OT, hostess sat us immediately even thought there was a nice crowd. Waiter was attentive and friendly and the manager stopped by several times to check on us. Best bread in town! Had a variety of oysters from their extensive selection, all delicious. Excellent crab soup, crab cakes and cioppino. Will definitely go back."

  • "service much better than the last time we dined. food prepared correctly but I believe fruit flies were on spinach salad, moving black objects"

  • "The food was mediocre at best. We had rubbery calamari, an acceptable oyster bay burger, overly crunchy beet salad, a tasteless crab cocktail, and 2 caesar salads with inadequately chopped lettuce. None of them were memorable. We ordered a Resurrection Ale and it was served by placing a can on the table without a glass. The waitress seemed distracted and inattentive. For $70 for 3 salads, two small plates, a burger and a beer, I was not the least bit impressed. This was our second time there. The first time was equally just fair but we thought we'd give them a second chance. We will probably not be back for a third try."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the Oyster Bar Grille. My friend and I had previously experienced this restaurant for lunch. This time we decided to bring our wives. They both gave high marks to the food, and atmosphere. However, our waiter could have exhibited a little more experience. He poured our wine without allowing us to taste it first. We will be going again soon. As you have made our list of nice places to go for a good meal."

  • "While you are waiting three months for reservations at a reasonable time at the deafeningly loud Cunninghams, slip into Oyster Bay Grill. Don't miss their namesake wine from New Zealand and insanely addictive bread. The place is pretty and you can actually hear yourself speak!"

  • "We had some oysters and soup for first course, our server Danny's recommendations for Oysters were the ones that we enjoyed the most. We also opted for the Half and Half soup, half Maryland Crab and half Lobster Bisque. We decided to go mostly small plate to try as much food as possible. The Beef sliders, I won't attempt to spell it, were amazing, 3 to a plate and contemplated ordering another, the taste was amazing and perfectly done. The Lamb meatballs had a good flavor but the goat cheese accompaniment was a little much and was our least enjoyed dish. The bread they serve is amazing, good luck not eating multiple loafs. Great atmosphere but on the upper scale of dining, business casual to formal for dress code. Will be back again.."

  • "First and last trip there. They were out of the main reason for us going - lamb meatballs. May have been able to look beyond that, but they were also out of their two dinner specials and ran out of the Loose Cannon IPA after two glasses. There may have been one other item as well, but four is plenty for me. Decent service and mediocre food. Truffle sliders were a winner for sure."

  • "First time at the restaurant. We love oysters so we wanted to give it a try. The raw oysters, oyster shooters and fried oysters were great. The burger was good. The rosemary fries lacked rosemary, were covered w/salt and arrived at the table cold. We sent them back and the 2nd version were not cold, but were not hot and were so saltly we couldn't eat them. We waited 50 minutes for our burger and fries. Waiter was not good, started by dropping a bottle of wine in my chest (unopened) but scared the dickens out of me. Manager came by a few times, but seems disconnected. The restaurant is not run well. I'm told it's been opened since August. They have an opportunity to make this a great restaurant, but need to get better management."

  • "*Server was great, very attentive and personable. *Crab and corn beignets were good though you couldn't tell their was any crab or corn in them, but I loved the tomatoe bacon jam *Scallops came out served in a small cast iron pan.which led to the scallops becoming overcooked a bit chewy and the cheese topping became one solid piece *Clams were cooked well and had good flavor, but there was nothing that wowed me about them. *Dessert - Caramel bacon goat cheese cheese cake...O-M-G, this was heaven. If you don't like bacon then don't try it but if you a looking for a unique dessert this is the one to try. *Have a printed Oyster menu, much easier for someone to decide if they have a printed selection vs hearing it verbally. Would dine again."

  • "So tell me how paying $30 for an entree (made w/bowtie paste) and watching the kentucky basketball is anywhere near a good time for valentine's day? The food was overpriced & atmosphere like a sports bar. I don't mind paying $25-$35 for an entree, but it better be worth it. My biggest restaurant pet peeve (of all time) is bringing me another course when I haven't finished the one in front of me. The only thing worth going there for was the tomato bread."

  • "This isn't a bad restaurant - it just needs work. Had to ask the waiter for bread and it was still cold when brought to the table. Obviously, it had bee frozen and then warmed for serving but the warming was done haphazardly and was still cold in spots. The entree was good (strip steak with shrimp) but the horseradish grits and spicy tomato sauce that accompanied them didn't go well. As for the few tiny asparagus spears that were also on the plate, they should have kept them. The coffee was rich and robust but the dessert, dense chocolate cake pieces with two raspberries, was dry, hard and skimpy. All together, there just isn't a reason for me to return to this restaurant."

  • "The restaurant was difficult to find, mainly because there was a very large tractor trailer parked in front of the sign and front door. We would have valet the car but the valet stand/ podium was also blocked from sight so we had to park at the mall parking garage, which was unpleasant walk because of our 20" inch snowstorm the day before. Oysters were good but could have had a larger selection. Had to request horseradish for our "cocktail" sauce as it tasted like plain ketchup. Lobster bisque was warmish but not hot like I prefer. Entrees were delish! Red velvet for desert was stale and small. Our Server was nice and friendly but entrees took long to come out. It was valentines Day so that may be to blame."

  • "It started when we were met at the reception counter and they could not find our reservation and went downhill quickly from there. Since they could not find the reservation and I was standing there withe the printer confirmation from Open Table, they had to find us a table. The place was empty but they could only "find" poor choices. I insisted on a different spot and they reluctantly obliged. We were given the "Special Menu" - not even close to the online version."

  • "I was very disappointed in my Valentine's Day dining experience at Oyster Bay Grill. This is a restaurant that obviously does not want you to bring your children out with you to celebrate with your wife. Not only did they refuse to accommodate my son's desire to order just a pasta dish from their very limited VDay offerings - they made no effort to even offer or accommodate him with something from their bar menu which obviously they were still serving. So we were left to order a 30.00 dollar + entrée he did not eat or enjoy! I have seen the last of the inside of that restaurant!"

  • "Oyster Bay is aptly named. I had a platter of the best local Chesapeake Bay oysters this season. They were big, briny, and most delicious. Definitely going back for "buck a shuck" happy hour special. Happy hour also features half-price drinks. I went with a party of 6 and all of us were happy diners. The entrees were interesting and tasty. All in all, great addition to the Towson dining scene."

  • "We really enjoy OBG. Oysters are the best in town. This was a quick outing on Saturday for early dinner; but the burgers were excellent. Can't wait to go back."

  • "This was my first time having an Orange Crust and it tasted like the soda with a kick.... This was my first time having beignet and I can't believe I have waited so long! but the best part was the tomato bacon jam. It over powered the beignets a bit, but boy was it worth it! They should bottle and sell that stuff. I like it so much that I ordered the Oyster Bay Grill burger (I know, I felt guilty aobut eating a burger at an Oyster Bar), but the burger was good, highlighted by more of the tomato bacon jam! I will go back and try the Rockfish next time...."

  • "Place "looks" very nice - booths and tables, wood panel, long bar. Very elegant and gives you a good feeling. Oysters were excellent as they should be, fish was good, grilled romaine salad was delicious but huge. Dinner was $120 for two with a bottle of wine and one mixed drink; about what I'd expect. Server was enthusiastic and seemed to know his stuff."

  • "I chose this restaurant because I liked the menu for Baltimore County Restaurant Week. When I made the reservation, I requested a 'nice table to make a good impression'. The table was an excellent choice! Our reservation was for 5pm and valet service was not on duty; so they validated our parking for the garage. That was generous and very professional. I would recommend Oyster Bay Grille to anyone who enjoys seafood ...particularly oysters! Thank you"

  • "This is a place where the food is good but not wonderful, the service gets your food to the table without undue wait but is not attentive, and the noise level, at least last Saturday, makes conversation difficult. The décor is nice and I am glad to have a restaurant at this location. Our experience was pleasant but not special. I would come back but not on a regular basis."

  • "My family and I had dinner here on a Saturday night during restaurant week and had a great experience. The place was very busy but the noise level was good. Between our table we had 3 of the 4 entrees offered and all three were great (all cooked perfectly and seasoned well) although the star was the crispy rockfish. After we finished our meal we all agreed we would come back. My only critique is I would like to see them upgrade the wine list. All bottles were well priced (most $30-$40) but it was very pedestrian. For such great food I would have loved to see some gems on the list (especially because they have the wine storage system that allows them to offer most by the glass."

  • "We were curious about the prix fix restaurant week menu and we like the recent uptrend in Towson restaurants, so we gave Oyster Bay Grille a shot. they do a great job. We sat in the back, away from the arctic air rushing in when the front door was opened. The tables are nicely spaced, not jammed in so tight you can see what is on your neighbor's plate, and ambience was nice, place was busy. Food choices for RW was varied, and nice choices. We both got fried oyster appetizers and crispy rockfish entrees, all great. for dessert, they were out of one of the two choices, so they made two additional choices available, a nice resolution. Wait staff was friendly, efficient, timely. Overall a 9/10. Complimentary valet parking too!"

  • "Because it's restaurant week, I thought I would try something different. Good idea, wrong place to eat and take family. Small portions, lousey drinks, waitress knew nothing. 1st time I ever left a restaurant hungry, couldn't wait to get home to eat. On top of all that, my tab was over $300 and I felt completely ripped off. Next time I want oysters, I'll stick w/ Cross Street and Lexington Markets."

  • "Overpriced first of all. Fish tacos were terrible, rubbery fish and very fishy taste with hardly any garnish on them at all. Jumbo shrimp had good taste but the amount of risotto and sauteed spinach were miniscule. Why serve such small portions on huge plates? Bread was good though."

  • "Oysters were good. Perhaps restaurant week wasn't a good time to try for the first time. Kitchen was out of two items, but server didn't know until we tried to order them. Kitchen wasn't prepared for orders off the prix fixe restaurant week menu. Tried a margarita, all mix. Server was cordial and tried, but was a bit overwhelmed. May be worth a second chance at lunch time, not during restaurant week. Not anxious for a return visit. Too many other places to try."

  • "We had a reservation for 6 Saturday and good thing we did because it became very busy just as we arrived. Parking is complimentary. I hated where we were sitting, as every time someone came in, we received a cold breeze. For an appetizer, we had 6 raw oysters. They were out of the ones I wanted, but we choose 3 others types, 2 of each type. They arrived labeled with two different sauces. My husband chose off of the Restaurant week menu and had, steak, asparagus, crab soup, and Mexican chocolate cake for $33. I had the fish tacos with hand cut fries. The food was excellent. The crab soup had lump crab meat on top. Fish tacos are difficult to pull off, as some restaurants try too hard. These were simple perfection."
