She was there enough, not too much. It is nice to see a server who treats her support staff kindly and we could see that they like working with her.
We had a very nice table by the fireplace, not as crowded and noisy as most of the restaurant. Sea bass and pork chops were both good. The service was attentive without making us feel rushed. Both our appetizers and entries were beautifully presented and were delicious. The noise level was a little high but not enough to make conversation difficult. As part of my celebration, I had a different wine with each course. The wines were all amazing and paired perfectly each dish. My absolute favorite wine was the one I had for dessert. It tasted just like chocolate. I was very pleased to see that the restaurant included local wines in their vast selection. If Oya's sommelier decides to offer classes, I would be the first one to sign up. It is very rare for me to dine at a restaurant and truly love every glass of wine. This was a first. The meal itself was excellent and the service was simply delightful. I have been to OYA many times before and I must say, every time the food and service has very good and consistent. They offer up a full and prix fixe menu. The prix fixe menu is a great deal for three course at roughly $36 for dinner. You can't be that!! It was late and I was starving....so I kept it simple and order from the prix fixe menu : Crunchy Spicy Shrimp Roll, Kobe Beef Burger and the Chocolate Molten cake for the dessert. My friend ordered the: Calamari Salad, Atlantic Salmon with Chinese garlic green beans, and carrot cake! "ERRRY THANG".... WAS GOOD!! Maybe for a man this is great. My husband ordered a sushi plate, that for the same price as my dish was not too much, so ended up helping me finishing my dish. I think they have a great wine selection. The place looks really nice but it was full and very noise (for all the people talking) and I think the tables are too close to each other. I could hear my neighbor better than my husband. Maybe if I was seated in other table I would have feel more comfortable. Great price for delicious food. I got the tenderloin and my wife got sushi. Both were perfect and the portion sizes for a 3 course meal left you satisfied in many ways. Oya met our needs, and went above and beyond when our meal accidentally contained allergens. My wife and I celebrated our first anniversary here, and we couldn't have been happier with our dining choice. We arrived slightly before our reservation and were seated immediately. The meal was excellent, the staff courteous and gracious, and our server was fantastic. The restaurant was a little too dark for my taste...I like see my "cuter half" sitting across from me. The volume and proximity of other diners made it tough to have a conversation. All three courses that I had were excellent (Asparagus salad, short rib bowl, strawberry-white chocolate ice cream). They do not skimp on the portions for the entree, though, so pace yourself and plan on having leftovers! That asparagus salad is the best thing I've had recently. The homemade ice cream I had was fantastic. I hope to get back soon for happy hour because the cocktail menu was full of things I enjoy. We were greeted and promptly seated at our reservation time. The service was attentive and the wine list provided a list of wines that we were unfamiliar with but that did not disappoint. The appetizers were large enough to share and we each ordered our own main course. It was a Saturday night reservation and the noise level was high but not to the extend that we could not enjoy our own conversation.
