The environment is wonderful. I really like the decorations, walls, paint, etc. I think is expensive, though. $15 for a cheeseburguer or $16 for a vegetarian pasta? and those are the cheapest dishes.

Our first visits to the Oxford Exchange were delightful. This time I found it to be so noisy we could not converse with the people at our table. A short stack of pancakes and coffee was $17.

It was our first time here and it was awesome! We went for Sunday brunch. I'm glad we made a reservation because there was a decent crowd, but not too noisy so it was perfect. We sat inside but had a great view of the atrium/conservatory area. The food was great and the service was awesome. Def one of our new favorite spots!

  • Great Food - Slow Service
    OpenTable Diner Since 2013
    Dined on 8/23/2014
The food was fantastic but the service was very slow. It took over 10 minutes after we were seated for our waiter to even stop by the table. The slow service continued throughout our meal. If you're not in a rush - this is a great spot. Otherwise, you might want to visit somewhere else.

Took friends this time to enjoy the back dining room, under the skylight, for lunch. Terrific food (chicken paillard and pulled pork taco), great teas, and even bought three books from the bookstore (back entrance) on the way out. Really energetic vibe! The menu at the Oxford Exchange is always excellent. I have been there many times throughout the past year or so, and it's always a treat, whether I go for a family brunch or just coffee with friends. Usually the service is adequate. However, this past time, the hostesses did a very poor job. They forgot about my party. In addition, I needed to add a 7th person onto my reservation (you can't do this online) and I left two messages (day before and day of) and no one responded. When I went to the restaurant, they acted like they wouldn't seat us. They ended up letting the 7 of us have a table upon our persuading, and it was reasonably comfortable.

My husband and I took a local couple to Saturday brunch at noon. This is a fantastic place in all ways except for the noise level. Even at a table along the wall, we had to shout to be heard above the noise of cutlery and other voices. Need some cloth to absorb the sound. This is our second visit and will go only when we want to show friends one of Tampa's classy hot spots.

Good food but not as good as when first opened. Server was excellent but service needs help. Asking for salad with piece of fish should be acceptable. Found choices more basic than in past. We wanted something different and special but that is not option any longer. Menu needs to be revamped. Still a lot of potential.

We came for Tacos and Tequila nite. The tacos were dry and lacked taste. Service seemed disorganized. Our server was great but, it seemed there was a lot of confusion in the kitchen. The dessert we ordered we were told the chef did not want to serve it???? We love the ambience of the Oxford Exchange and the music was great.

I don't mind spending a lot on lunch if the food is amazing. That wasn't the case here. The burger was so salty it couldn't even be eaten, the quinoa falafel was dry and not served like the traditional way it's supposed to be. The mahi sandwich was ok but not worth $18. Each side is a la carte as well which our waiter didn't tell us...he asked what side would you like, making it sound like it came with the meal, and when we got the check we were charged $5 for each side! It is so noisy in there you can't even hear each other talk and the service was terrible. Took 20 to get my moms iced tea he kept forgetting and never came to our table. After a bad meal we were excited for dessert and come to find out they only have one cupcake to offer :(

This was my first visit to the Oxford Exchange and I was SO disappointed. I'm very happy I made a reservation because that was the only way we got in. The place was packed and extremely noisy! Our server came over and the first thing he told us was that he was so overwhelmed by all of the large parties he was taking care of at the same time as us. My food was decent, but I ordered the french toast that was supposed to come with bananas. It came with five tiny slices of bananas - FIVE slices, really?? For $13, I would have expected more. With so many other great places for brunch in Tampa, I will not return to the Oxford Exchange. Some of my favorites are The Refinery, Datz, Boca and they will continue to get my business instead.

I love everything about Oxford Exchange, but I really wish they would keep a vegan option on their lunch menu (well, besides a salad). There used to be a hummus wrap that was delicious. That is gone all together. Then there was a quinoa falafal. That is gone from weekend brunch and not on their lunch menu. As a vegan, I had to get my server to ask if they could make me a veggie sandwich which was some veggies between toast (which they slabbed butter on!). Bring back a vegan sandwich option please. Thanks.

My waiter James was a very pleasant gentleman. Although he was not very attentive to my table. I had to stop him several times to ask him for a different drink as well as ask where our food was. He also did not ask, how the food was or if everything was okay. Overall the experience was amazing. Although the waiter could have used a little help in the customer service area and a lesson in bettering his people skills!

Went for afternoon tea and the tea was delicious as well as the food! My only drawback was to find out that the $22 for the full Afternoon Tea did not include unlimited tea. I was done with my tea (small teapot) before I got to the scones and had to pay an additional $3.50 plus to get another order of tea. I have been to other places for afternoon tea and the price includes unlimited tea since you are paying $22, I feel that it should include unlimited tea. The overall experience and food as well as Tea as I mentioned was great!

It was a good experience ;however, I was disappointed that the service was quite average. I ordered a club. Waiter asked" what side". I didn't realize I got a side so asked him my choices. He listed them.I chose the slaw. He never mentioned that it was extra $. I requested side of mayo. Did not receive it and had to ask another waiter for it. My guest made a change to her sandwich. Our waiter said"No problem." But he tacked on another charge for that which we were not aware of. That is shabby treatment.

Oxford Exchange is a beautiful location with an urban environment to it. It's a place you wouldn't imagine could be found in Tampa, Florida, but maybe in a big city, such as NYC. The food was incredible, the interior design was wonderful, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Our server was not as attentive or friendly as anyone would hope, but overall everyone else was friendly.
