Diner Reviews
  • "A beautiful place with a lot of character and good food, but a bit noisy in the dining room."
    Dined on 7/8/2014
  • "The food was inconsistent. ..I raved about the Brussel sprouts and brought a group to eat them and they were different than what I previously had and descrived. Waitress did not describe the teas nor say no refills and we got our drinks after the food. I like the atmosphere, the shopping and the coffee shop! I would try a different meal again but would not tell friends because of the inconsistency and poor service. It's also very pricy for lunch. I would not be comfortable recommending to coworkers or friends for food..but would say go for the experience of the shop."

  • "the Oxford Exchange is a wonderful place to sit and relax, read a book at the small bookstore, grab a cup of Joe and chill. While waiting for you table, gander around the interesting (expensive) and eclectic gift shop. All the food is wonderful. I have only been there for lunch, but I hear the dinners are just as good."

  • "Our lunch was good from start to finish with pleasant service. Wonderful combination WITH COFFES, TEAS AND YUMMY FOOD. RPDiner"

  • "Expecting something wonderful, it was just mediocre. Service was very poor. Basically it is a bookstore with an expensive restaurant attached to it. All side items for breakfast are extra. The charge for even butter and jelly. (toast, bacon, butter, jelly, potatoes, etc). Trying to recreate the ambiance of a French Bistro, but falls short. It is a lot of hoopla for nothing espectacular."

  • "Food took a long time (don't go hungry) but was great. Nice coffee/tea shops and store to browse"

  • "It was a good place! I loved the food and the interior design"

  • "A few years ago I read an article regarding Oxford Exchange. Wanting to visit the restaurant, I made a reservation via Open Table. My husband and I are still raving about the food and the service. The locally sourced organic food is amazing. I wouldn't recommend Oxford Exchange as a kid friendly resturant unless the kids are real foodies. My husband and I enjoyed our lunch, the gluten free cupcake and the overall dining/shopping experience."

  • "Found this while perusing Open Table for a place to go for mid-day meal that was not a buffet. What a great find! Plan on going back! Food was excellent, Buttermilk pancake short stack was absolutely delicious. Only issue is parking...but that issue can certainly be overlooked for this gem. Drop off guests who can't walk far and find parking (as I did around the corner) on the street."

  • "Whether you are having a business or social breakfast, this is a great way to start your day. The ambience out in the atrium is fantastic and takes you to a place of serenity and relaxation. The food and beverage selection is unmatched and all aspects of your dining experience at the Oxford Exchange are treated as special making this a favorite of mine. I also bring people here for lunch and am so happy they are starting to offer dinner service! I'll be back for that soon!"

  • "Really nice change for Tampa. Restaurant has a New York feel to it. Good energy, great service and food. A burger is not just a burger, this place had one of the best burgers I have had. Had a cold asparagus salad that was fresh and flavorful. Loved it."

  • "We enjoyed a Sunday brunch at Oxford Exchange, which is so popular that I doubt there is ever a quiet time. We had the fried kale and then the fried brussel sprouts (which we couldn't finish) along with our entree (which we shared). The food is plentiful and good. This restaurant is one of the busiest in South Tampa. Oxford is now serving wine and cocktails and has added evening dinners twice a week. I think I'll try a dinner to see if the place is quieter then."

  • "Lots of choicfes during brunch. I would definitely go back!"

  • "We went here for brunch and had a great meal. I recommend the omelette! The only thing negative I have to say is that it's a little loud there, but the overall experience was great."

  • "This restaurant was a highlight of our trip to Tampa. It's located in a historic building, and is hip, charming and inviting to all! Ambiance was great, and there are many interesting things to do before and after you eat. The food was top dish!!!"

  • "The service was pleasant, if a bit slow to bring the tea. The Traditional Afternoon Tea was nice. Scones were perfect, sandwiches had been sitting out a bit (dry/stale in top but soft underneath), the desserts were lovely."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "I have eaten at Oxford Exchange numerous times and always enjoy taking friends thee for the first time. This last time (6/27) we found it to be extemely loud. The food and service were excellent but have never experienced the loudness. My friend commented that it was so loud we couldn't carry on a conversation."

  • "I treated my two friends born in June to lunch. Everything we ordered was a little unique and tasted great. The Wild salmon on a salad was perfect. Prepared well. Kale chips were a nice yummy addition. I plan to try dinner one night soon."

  • "A little get away spot in the middle of a busy area"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "My waiter never brought my drink & didn't check in with us again until our meal was finished. It was so load I could barely here my friend sitting next to me. :("

  • "The food was delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. The ambience was beautiful. The fountain was a little loud for conversation to be smooth, but not enough to deter. My only wish is that the tea and coffee places stayed open during supper hours."

  • "We took our niece from NYC to Oxford and had a great time."

  • "This is a beautiful venue with a trendy vibe, but it was very noisy at 12:15 on a Sunday. The outdoor area was just as noisy. Don't go at a busy time if you want to talk to your table mates! One of our guests ordered a salad which had very wilted greens and was quite mundane in appearance and taste. My wife's chicken burger on a gluten-free bun was a real treat for her. My husband's burger was very good. The Irish coffee made by the waitress was in a regular mug, not in a classy clear mug with whipped cream, etc. At the cost, it should have had a more appealing appearance. Despite all, we will go back because of the venue and the gluten-free bun! We just won't order salads or Irish coffee!!"

  • "I have been to Oxford Exchange on a couple of occasions and have always enjoyed it. Both the food and the tea have always been very good. However, this time the tea for most of my group was not up to par. One person in my group returned hers and asked for another flavor. My tea had hardly any taste at all. Another person in our party also was not happy with hers either. I'm not sure if the person making the tea that day was just not doing a good job or what. But they tasted very watered down and had very little flavor. It was disappointing. Hopefully, this review helps and it will be corrected. Thanks."

  • "I took my girlfriend to Oxford Exchange for a brunch and tea time. I had called several days ahead to inform the manager that I would be proposing to my girlfriend. The manager, Cassandra, was very nice and excited to help me with everything I had in mind. During the morning of the proposal, I showed up several hours before my reservation time to talk with the manager in person at the restaurant. She informed the hostesses and waitresses about the proposal and set up everything how I asked. The restaurant, proposal and all aside, is amazing! Beautiful atmosphere and charming character. Authentic and memorable. This is the perfect place for any special occasion and even just a good place to hang out. I would recommend this place to everyone."

  • "We always enjoy our lunches there. It is a bit noisy but if you want a lively atmosphere with lots of diversity, that is the place. The maui sandwich was outstanding, as was the citrus black tea beverage."

  • "A friend of mine was coming in from PA to visit and this was one of the first places I took her. I just knew she'd love it and sure enough she did. If you love coffee, tea, and good food this is a great place."

  • "Oxford Exchange was a total surprise for me to find! Really a gem. So happy to have found it. My new favorite place in Tampa. Truly gorgeous ambience and decor--candles on tables, cool brick walls with greenery everywhere. Sweet metal tables. Lounging area outside of dining is comfortable and inviting with games, tebella tea, and buddy brewery coffee. Food was delicious, watermelon salad, the tuna starter and for our meals, the squash spaghetti and the steak frites (cooked perfectly to order). Loved the Parmesan truffle fries! Good portion sizes--actually took home quite a but. Vino was perfect (the Sancerre). Had a lovely evening definitely coming back (hopefully for a bingo night or brunch)! Make time for the bookstore and shop too!"

  • "Food was good, but noise level is out of sight--makes conversation difficult."

  • "I have been here a few times for breakfast and I would highly recommend it. I went for afternoon tea for the first time and found the food to be good, but way overpriced. Not only was it overpriced, but there was not enough food. I have been to Tea at the Ritz and they fill the plates with food and they will give you unlimited refills of anything. Fabulous restaurant with delicious food, I just wouldn't recommend going for afternoon tea."

  • "My husband and I fully enjoy our experiences for Brunch on weekends at the Oxford Exchange. We love the ambiance, the breakfast choices on the menu, and the great service. This is the main reason we chose to take his parents to OE for the Supper on Father's Day. The OE's website mentioned Supper, and cocktails served in the main hall - so it seemed like something everyone would enjoy. The menu, to our surprise, was not different, and seemed overpriced for what we received. There was no sight of cocktails, and the main area was very quiet and most employees were packing up, even after our 5:45pm reservation. While we would go for brunch again, I would not suggest Supper to any friends or family."

  • "While the noise level was pretty lound and teh service a little slow, the food was great and the servere very attentive and pleasant. The Asian Chicken tacos are wondeful although the crabby baked benedict was a little dry! To start, you have to try the fried brussel sprouts - fabulous."

  • "i adore the ox ex! from the quaint, well lit, shot gun style building with a handsomely elegant ambiance to the superb organic tea & juice selections to the delectable cuisine.. this place is a slice of heaven!"

  • "The food is fair to good, depending on what u order. We waited 25 minutes to get food. One of our party sent hers back and even though she asked for a salad, it took another 25 minutes to come. It was in edible. Terrible experience. Try to sit outside where it is quieter, or better just go for Buddy Brew coffee, which is outstanding."

  • "This is a hot little spot in South Tampa that is perfect for a get together with friends or a nice little dining experience with a more intimate date. Fancy, yet unassuming, this charming restaurant has wonderful coffees and teas, delicious food and now a FULL BAR! What more could you ask for?"

  • "I love Oxford Exchange and have been at least 10 times. Its my go to for work lunches. The food is always great, but the quality of service has definitely gone down hill. I went for a lunch meeting and it took about 20 minutes to get our order taken and water. After that the food took about another 30 and after that the server never checked up on us. I normally wouldn't care, but I had a burger and it didn't come out with ketchup. In short, great food, but if you are in a hurry or very hungry, don't go here. You'll end up waiting a long time for the food."
