We found this annoying. Also, they serve what appears to be a delicious pepperoni pizza, but only children are allowed to order it. These rules seem arbitrary, capricious and completely unnecessary. The noise level at this visit was so loud you can hardly hear yourself think, especially because the table we were seated at was next to the bar (and there was a big birthday group of 12 right next to us). The service was excellent and the food was outstanding as usual. Many of the guests had never been to Overwood before so they were very impressed and said they would like to return. Our waiter was very accommodating to our needs, leaving us alone when we were chatting away, but were also very good to check in on us well before we needed anything without being intrusive. They use locally sourced ingredients and everything was so fresh. The roasted brussel sprouts were a hit as much as the mac and cheese. The menu has something for everyone, and the waitstaff is used to and friendly towards kids. We all enjoyed the meal - the food was good, as was the service. We were greeted promptly by our server and ordered our beverages. My dining partner had the beat salad, which was deemed very good. My chopped salad with cranberries was also very good and both salads were generous portions and could probably be split if you were desiring a smaller salad.
My dining partner ordered the salmon and substituted the rice for the potatoes. The pairing ended up being quite good. I ordered the strip steak and potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce was fabulous. Both of our dishes were served with excellently prepared asparagus. Once again the portions were generous. It was our first time here but we will be back!3/8/2013 12:00:00 AMCharming Pub Restaurant in Old TownThis was our first visit to Overwood - the staff was very friendly and responsive - the interior was quite attractive and inviting. However the food was just above average - the selection on the menu was very extensive - was surprised that no bread and butter was served before the meal - but great champagne by the glass and we enjoyed ourselves very much!!3/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
