Diner Reviews
  • "I dine in dc mostly where I reside, but went based on an online search to Baltimore for a night and loved this place.... Octopus is a must have on the appetizer menu even can be order as an entree ... Food was great, modern fun ambiance and we had no problem finding parking either Highly recommend"

  • "I was expecting a great night with wonderful food and atmosphere. Unfortunately the poor design of the interior made it impossible to have any conversation due to the noise level. Our server mumbled and we could not understand a word she was trying to say. The food was good but not outstanding. To be honest it seemed line a noisy chain restaurant rather than a fine dining restaurant. Not worth the money."

  • "It was our first time trying the restaurant and would definitely return for a special occasion. The mussels appetizer was a perfect temp and seasoned well. The Bronzino entree was simple and elegant. It let the fish sing for itself. Our waiter, Howard, was outstanding. He did not hover and the entire meal was paced perfectly. The only detract ion was the noise level of the bar but we expected that during a Friday night early dinner."

  • "Perfectly cooked, impecably fresh seafood. Amazing lamb. Our waiter, Steve, was the best. A very memorable birthday dinner for my wife. Thanks Ouzo Bay"

  • "Except for fact that it is not at all kid friendly. Called and they basically tell you they can in no way accommodate kids. Refuse to make any kid specific dishes. In this day and age if electronic devices at dinner ouzo bay really should not discriminate against kids. I know I'd go more often."

  • "Coming from a performance at the BSO, we were already in a good mood, and our visit to Ouzo Bay capped off the evening with great food and service. To start, we each had a special Greek-inspired drink and an appetizer (a flaming cheese dish). Our server, Howard, provided us with excellent attention and information on the main dishes. He was also quite an expert on the wine list as well as just being a great conversationalist. The fish selections were outstanding (Dover Sole and Mediterranean Sea Bass) and the side dishes added special flavor to the meal."

  • "You can appetize yourself to Mt. Olympus. The grilled calamari outstanding, the warm octopus sala,d a first for me, was so tender and flavorfull. The greek salad was a study in tomatoes culture. A well stocked vine cellar and great coffee. Numerous roving Q/C staff checks on all the details and it pays off. Whoa, all the way around."

  • "AMAZING Dinner.....This place was the best restaurant I have ever eaten at in Baltimore!"

  • "The food here is really wonderful. Menu is extensive, with lots of fish particularly but there is also lamb, beef and a few non-meat items. The servers are attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. We were given complimentary ouzo shots (delightful) and valet parking validation, presumably to make up for slow food delivery (my four star rating on "service" reflects a kitchen problem, not a server problem); we did not complain (other than to ask once about the status) or ask for anything, they just took it upon themselves to try to make things right. They got, in return, patrons who plan to return often, having had a lovely dining experience."

  • "Excellent Octopus first course, Lamb Shank was good, but not special, guess I expect a little more from a five star restaurant, just a little blend. Orange custard was nice, but I kind of wish the pastry would be crispy not mushy. Server attentive! and not overbearing."

  • "We had a GREAT time. We went there to celebrate out anniversary and the staff was fantastic. They gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. Best service I have ever had in a restaurant. It was a little loud but that's expected being near the bar. I would recommend this to anyone to try at least once. We would have never went there if we did not have a gift certificate. But now that we went it may turn into an annual date night. Great experience!!!!!!! Oh and the FOOD omg the food was amazing cooked perfectly. I could go on and on but I'll let you visit and see for yourself. Pricey but WELL WORTH IT!"

  • "Ouzo Bay never fails to please. It is one of the top 2 or 3 best restaurants we have eaten in, and we have been eating out in Baltimore for more than 30 years. On a 1-5 scale it is a 5."

  • "We had a very pleasant evening, I thought the octopus app was terrific, but the black bass needed more zip- it could have used some herbs and salt. The lamb chops were good but didn't taste very lambey. This was our 1st time and we thought the ambiance was too casual for the upscale menu, and when one spends that kind of money to charge for valet parking is a bit too much!!!!!!"

  • "This is a very nice place for those special occasions such as an anniversary, or even a birthday depending on how much you're willing to spend."

  • "The wait staff was very helpful in selecting a whole fish. My wife and I split the golden snapper. It was the best fish I've ever had. The custard for dessert was awesome as well."

  • "The food was excellent. All 4 of us had some sort of seafood and each dish was really spectacular. The ouzo served after dinner before dessert was a nice touch. The only complaint we had was that we all parked on the street and paid the max which permitted 2 hours of street parking, but we did not rush through dinner and we all had to get up before dessert to go feed the meter."

  • "Food was good and portions nicely sized. Noise was loud making conversation difficult. Tables so close we air staff had to take turns-often holding food over dinners' heads. Somewhat pricey for a pound of fish and few people can eat 2 pounds is snapper!"

  • "We have had dinner and brunch at Ouzo Bay six or seven times since it opened. Great food, great service, sometimes a bit loud, but you get through that. Recommend it highly for all occasions. Price wise I believe the meal is well worth it."

  • "The food was excellent. We enjoyed the flaming saganaki & grilled Octopus as appetizers. Our group of 4 chose different fish preparations as entrées but all came out at the same time & were excellent."

  • "The grilled Octopus appetizer melted in your mouth. The grilled bronzini was made with a light lemon , olive oil, caper sauce and was excellent. The fillet was one of the best in town. The service was very good. The restaurant is very modern and pretty. I highly recommend this restaurant. Loved it."

  • "This was my first time here and I'm not sure why it took me so long to try it out since I work in the area. This place is truly amazing. Not cheap, but well worth it. My husband was quite impressed and we will definitely be back very soon."

  • "Aside from the fact that it was very noisy, we enjoyed our experience and would probably return when we can sit outside to avoid the bar. Food was excellent and service was very attentive."

  • "Got a reservation through Open Table while on a business trip to Baltimore. This place was rated very highly and the food deserves that rating. The grilled calamari and octopus were outstanding, as was the grilled whole fish. I recommend the mediterranean fishes, since, after all, this is a fine Greek restaurant. Nice selection of Ouzos. The place is very crowded and moderately noisy, but the service was reasonable attentive. I would return."

  • "This summer we visited Athens and the surrounding area for a week. We loved the food so much, and could not find anything close to it until we dined at Ouzo Bay. Authentic cuisine and drinks. Great setting. Exceptional staff. We brought our kids and they were great. (Can't remember if there was a kids menu.) Highly recommended. Hope to return for an "adults night" at the bar. for drinks and apps."

  • "Truly a wonderful experience. New to Baltimore, this restaurant was suggested by a local and am so glad we went. The look, the feel and the food were absolutely fantastic. The owner (George) greeted us and was very attentive to all the patrons. The service was active but not pushy and the food was....well, it was excellent. Fresh, clean and flavorful. Truly looking forward to going back and encourage you to try it for yourself."

  • "In my reservation request, i asked for a quiet area. We were initially seated near the bar. We asked for a change and were given another table only a bit farer from the bar. Service was rushed- then very slow. We waited over 20 minutes for dessert. At one point the server was so rushed he slammed into a chair at our table, moving the table. the food was excellent. We ordered the assortment of spreads for a table appetizer. Each distinct and good accompanied by warm pita. Greek salads were nondescript. the salmon with Greek sauce was multi-layer in flavor. the tuna entree was judged the best ever. Desserts were well done-walnut pie the best. Unfortunately, the noise level was so high we could not really enjoy the meal."

  • "After reading a number of features and glowing reviews of Ouzo Bay, I had an opportunity to dine there on President's Day. We had a drink at the bar while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. The bar service was excellent and our cocktails were very good. We were initially seated next to the entryway which features a bright glowing blue light. It was quite distracting and we asked to be reseated. We ordered lamb meatballs and the pita and spreads plate as appetizers. They were quite tasty. Our entrees featured Chilean Sea Bass, lamb chops, and lamb shanks. The food was well executed and the portions were generous. Overall it was a very good meal. It did, however, seem a bit pricey."

  • "I love this restaurant! It is consistently the same each time we go serving up excellent food (Dover sole is out of this world and the grilled octopus is outstanding each time) and wonderful and friendly service."

  • "The food was excellent and the service was almost every bit as good. Some of the tables have a harbor view, and the restaurant's interior is very modern but inviting. We had a great time and would highly recommend it"

  • "First off let me preface this review by saying that we went to Ouzo Bay for the first time this past Saturday with a group of 6 people for a birthday celebration. Positives: Great tasting food and a nice variety of dishes; restaurant decor was beautiful and trendy. Negatives: Put us (6 people) at a table along the walkway between the kitchen and the serving station. Server was rude and hard to understand especially above the noise in the restaurant and did not do a good job of explaining the menu especially how to best order or make a selection from their fresh whole fish section of the menu. Overall the experience was nice but probably would not go back. For the price and service you would be better off going to Pazo or Cinghiale."

  • "Huge portions, very cool vibe, This place is deserving of best in the City accolades. Portions are not shy either. Had the veal chop with spinach lemon orzo. Had to take 1/2 home bc I had a starter. My wife did the same with her amazing lamb shank. I've had tha before and it is great. Being Greek, he deafood is never a bad choice either."
