  • The atmosphere at Ouzo Bay

The atmosphere at Ouzo Bay was very lively. Our table for dinner was in the bar area, which was hopping all night. The clientele at the restaurant were very posh and fancy -- I saw many men in suits throughout the night. The food and service were good. My only complaint was about the bronzino. I know it was prepared Meditteranean style which was basically deboned and then flavored with salt and pepper but it was very boring. I should have got the steak.

The fresh fish was excellent as were the salads and house spreads. There were many more options that we would have liked to have tried, but will need to save for another visit. The service was initially very good, but slacked off a little as the restaurant became busier. It is not cheap, but is worthwhile for a special occasion.

My wife and I had a great time here at Ouzo Bay. The service was impeccable. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and Lamb Balls. The fish was perfect and flavorful. The Lamb Balls were outstanding. I could not had asked for better food. My wife ordered the Mousaka and Greek Salad. We usually go to Greektown to order these two items when we crave Greek cuisine. It is always good there but at Ouzo Bay you can taste the freshness of the food and that the food is prepared with healthy ingredients. There was not any greasy taste to the Mousaka. The meat was very lean. We just loved all that we ordered and again I praise the service. I am going to tell all my friends to go here.

  • It's no Black Olive
    Chris3141VIP

Mediocre restaurant clearly trying to copy what the Black Olive has done so successfully. On my first trip the service was terrible - sometimes you can blame this on a bad server or a bad night, but this was endemic including managers arguing with service staff at the hostess station. No matter who or what is wrong, that ought to take place behind the scenes. Place has modern lighting and is generally good visual ambiance, but the lack of any carpet, drapes or anything soft makes this, acoustically, a very loud place. Kitchen is good. Lima beans (though included in nearly every offering) are delicious. Overall, if you want Greek seafood, the Black Olive is still the king.

The fresh seafood was simply delicious - excellently prepared scallops and a Bream Dorade white fish I had never before sampled. Both entrees were very tasty. Our waiter "Paul" could not have been more accomodating. We were made to feel special fron beginning to end. I look forward to returning to this gem!

  • Too loud to enjoy our dinner.

Too loud to enjoy our dinner. The food was okay. My only favorite was the grilled octopus appetizer. We had the grilled bronzino and red snapper. They were peppered with lots of capers and tasted ok. I was hoping the dessert would salvage the entire meal but it was bland tasting. We ordered the vanilla custard but was given two hard pastry with ice cream. We didn't bother to complain as we were so ready to leave to hear ourselves again. I wish your option for Noise level has "Too Loud". Ouzo Bay needs a partition from the bar to separate the dining area and sound dampening.

Great, simple seafood done well. The service was seriously lacking- it shouldn't take 10 minutes to be greeted by your server or 15 minutes to get an offer for a drink refill. Not to mention that two of the three hostesses looked misanthropic most of the time. And the music is too loud. But the food is good enough to bring us back for more. We'll probably just avoid the weekends.

Food was excellent. Server was both friendly and knowledgable, made good suggestions. Only issue was the noise level. We were seated in the front of the restaurant, rather than the main dining area, and the noise level from the bar area made it difficult to carry on a conversation.

  • Not Miami Beach. . .Miami Airport!
    OpenTable Diner Since 2005VIP

Extremely disappointing experience on a Saturday night. Reservation made 30 days in advance and upon arrival, we were seated at a table for two in the upper level in the bar. Requested seating in the lower, but told there were no tables for two anywhere else. So, why should this matter? Because in the bar level the noise is way more than "energetic." How about like an airport runway? Maybe third down when the Ravens are on D? Or, perhaps a jackhammer. We literally couldn't hear each other without shouting, nor could the waiter. The bar is great. . .if you want to hang out and drink. But for dining -- completely unacceptable. Especially, when prices are as high as they are here. Needless to say, we left. Fair warning for twos!

Beautiful place with well-trained staff--Almost overly attentive! Food was superb. The only con I should have anticipated: fresh fish is sold by the pound.I ordered bronzino and assumed pound of fish, but it was 1.25. So the $26 became $32. Next time I'd ask for a small whole fish. At the same time, it was wonderfully cooked and beautiful--albeit too many capers for my taste. Excellent bread and the best saganaki ever. Side dishes of lemony potatoes and another of roasted vegetables were great. Scallops were also superb. Wine we chose from Santorini was $42 but a perfect suggestion from the sommelier. Desserts--baklava and vanilla custard-- were truly delicious! Total was $75pp but a great special occasion place.

My boyfriend & I went to Ouzo Bay for our anniversary. We were excited to go since it was new & looked really nice. When we got there, it's actually a lot smaller than it appears in the pictures online. It was very noisy. Our waitress was good but not what you'd expect. The food was a rip off. I can get better and more Greek food at restaurants in Highland town than at Ouzo Bay. You can also go to other fancier restaurants, pay just as much but get a lot more food. The salad was great. The half roasted chicken wasn't anything special, neither was my boyfriends steak. They gave us each only ONE piece of a potato on the side...ONE PIECE OF A POTATO! We couldn't order the green beans because they were out. Overall, very overpriced.
