Diner Reviews
  • "This restaurant had great food and our server was wonderful but it is, without a doubt, the noisiest restaurant my husband and I have ever been to. We took out a friend for a belated birthday and we ourselves celebrated an anniversary but our conversation the whole evening had to be yelled across the table. We went on a Wednesday at 6:30p thinking that is typically not a busy night for dining. The restaurant was not completely full but it sounded like we were in a stadium. It's ashame because we did enjoy the food and the restaurant kindly sent celebratory desserts to our table. The sound of silence once we left was golden! Unfortunately, we won't be back as we simply cannot endure the noise."

  • "Over-priced mediocre food with inattentive service to top it off. There are far better places to dine in Baltimore."

  • "I came here for a birthday dinner. We chose to dine inside but there were plenty of people taken advantage of the outside dining. It's a Greek restaurant with a speciality in fish. I had the Alaskan halibut which was delicious and my boyfriend had the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly. Ouzo Bay has an intimate feel about it even with its openness."

  • "Great lamb chops and halibut mussels and everything else we tried our waiter Steve was great as well"

  • "Food was pretty good. Their mussels for appetizer were pretty amazing. Service was pretty impressive. I would definitely go back for another special occasion."

  • "This was the 8th time we have visited Ouzo Bay. Still a great place but same menu (which is not bad) just looking for something new. I highly recommend it but go early. It is the loudest restaurant in Baltimore. Very energetic!"

  • "We celebrated a birthday dinner here at Ouzo Bay. Excellent service right from the start, great wine list. We ate outside perfect ambiance. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent fish and beef selections too."

  • "Enjoyed our evening can't wait to go back! Our waitress Rachel was so knowledgable about every item on the menu. She really made our dining choices become a great experience. I recommend trying a whole fish! Loved the outdoor dining."

  • "Fabulous restaurant. Lamb chops are divine. Big selection of excellent fish. Wonderful setting. Pricey but worth it."

  • "I know, Baltimore is crab cakes, right? But this place does incredible fresh fish-- best in town, maybe the best I've had out East. Great spot for business dinner, everything is fresh and super-high quality."

  • "The service is what sets this establishment above all Baltimore area restraunts. From the time you valet your vehicle and walk in the front door you realize the staff is well trained and led by a caring management team that's on point. Far to many high priced local restraunts fail miserably with delivering exceptional service that was once expected with the fine dining experience. Oh, and the food was excellent - get the lamb chops"

  • "The food and atmosphere make this a great place as it is, but it must also pass the celebrity test, Derek Jeter was at the table next to us."

  • "Restaurants aren't established just by their well known dishes but at least as much as by the little things. Here not only was the spanakopita and the saganacki the best we ever had and the Baramundi was fantastic, but the rice was delicious. Too often restaurants treat the sides as an afterthought, but here they are as carefully crafted as the main courses. We loved it and I highly recommend Ouzo Bay."

  • "All around great meal! Amazing octopus appetizer. Will definitely be back"

  • "The grill octopus is the best I have ever had. Even my wife, who does not like unusual seafood, loves the octopus."

  • "Everything was great, the service, the venue, the apps, the cocktails and most of the food I tried was divine. I would definitely recommend the Achilles Heel cocktail and the octopus appetizer. Having tried the lamb chops, halibut, and sea bass, all were amazing. I could not recommend the lamb shank. Although cooked to perfection, falling off the bone, the flavor lacked any kind of distinguishing character. All-in-all it was a great evening and I will be going back. I would definitely like to hit their happy hour."

  • "I recently ate here during a business trip to the Baltimore Harbor area. The restaurant is brand new, all of the decor is very elegant and welcoming. I had the zucchini chips to start along with the pork chops as my entree. The zucchini chips were delicious. They were fried, but not overly breaded or greasy. Portion size was huge! The pork chops were OK. I was expecting a lot more flavor from the dish, however it fell a little short of expectations. Overall experience was very pleasant and the waiter was very helpful and attentive. Would definitely return to this restaurant when back in the area."

  • "Went to Ouzo Bay on a Sat evening in early July. Weather was warm but breezy, so we ate outside. Service was attentive without being overbearing. We split the spinach pie and fried calamari. The calamari was lightly breaded and with a perfect texture. The spinach pie was deep dish and had a pungent and flavorful feta. My wife had the halibut and I had two langoustines. The halibut was cooked perfectly, although she may have enjoyed less sauce. The langoustines were grilled to perfection and lightly flavored, allowing their natural sweetness to show through. An expensive dinner, but well worth it!"

  • "What a gem! With a great harbor setting and postmodern design, Ouzo Bay is comfortable and attractive. The service is top-notch. And the food was delicious. We had outstanding grilled calamari and perfectly prepared sea bass. Looking forward to returning and trying more menu items."

  • "Coming from a Greek family it is hard dining out at a Greek restaurant as you end up comparing everything to your Nona's cooking and usually end up disappointed. I wouldn't tell her but this passed the test. Everything was delicious. The wait staff was quick and attentive and the ambiance was nice. The restaurant itself is very clean and modern. My only criticism would be noise levels. This place would do well to add some sound isolation to at least a section of the main restaurant for those that want a slightly more intimate vibe. With all the openness and metal surfaces it tended to be on the loud side. Wonderful restaurant though."

  • "Everything was great...we arrived a LOT early for our reservation and was still seated promptly. We originally requested a table for four but realized other guests would be arriving and was immediately accommodated with a larger table, much to my chagrin our guest arrived so late that they did not eat dinner, my son, also in the service industry, said that can be a bit of a turn-off for some waiters when they're expecting a larger check, hence a larger tip...we never felt slighted...overall great experience:)!"

  • "Had heard before we went that it was great and it lived up to that reputation. Unique Greek food served in a unique decor made for a really pleasant and enjoyable dinner. Wine list was broad and there were a lot of choices at reasonable prices. Food was really very tasty and serviced wife had the Salmon and I had the Chilean Sea Bass. Great! Service was attentive and not over done. will be going back that's for sure."

  • "We had a great dinner on July 1st! We had never been to this restaurant but had heard about it and had read good reviews on it. We sat outside and had a bottle of greek wine and had the mezze platter as an appetizer. It was very tasty but quite pricey given the serving size. For entrees we had the lamb shank, lobster, sea bass and a whole fish special. All were delicious and well seasoned. We did not get dessert but they had some tempting dessert items listed. The service was excellent and our waitress was well versed on the menu and how the dishes were prepared. Parking was about average for Baltimore as we had to park a few blocks away from the restaurant although they did offer valet parking."

  • "I loved Ouzo Bay as ann overal experince. I do feel that after having gone twice, the grlled seafood items tend to be over cooked, and thus too dry. Ambiance is spectacular!!"

  • "Food was mediocre at best, service was efficient if not knowledgeable about menu items and noise level was so high you could not hear across the table. Only the sommelier was worthy of this over priced over rated restaurant."

  • "Ouzo bay is a lovely restaurant but is designed poorly. the end of the bar, the restrooms, and the kitchen exit all come together at a certain point and it is almost impossible to get thru. I can only imagine it is a night mare for the servers with people in their way all the time..also the server started off good but fizzled out as the night went on. The flaming Saganaki was terrible and hard as a rock...the by the glass wine list has very limited selections. I would not go back."

  • "We went to Ouzo Bay on the suggestion by a friend. Our outdoor table was lovely and the place had a great vibe. We were in no rush, but waited an hour and still did not receive our appetizer, a bowl of olives (which we ordered because it looked like dinner was going to take a while). Our entrees suddenly arrived with little sign of our waitress. She finally checked in on us and we asked about our appetizer and she seemed very non-concerned. We proceeded to cancel the "olive order" and she seemed miffed. We spent a lot of money, yet really didn't feel that the staff was friendly. Wouldn't go back. There are other places with better service."

  • "We had a lovely, lovely evening. Our server was knowledgeable and honest. He also was attentive without being pushy. The food 100% lived up to the hype. While I think that the noise level was a bit overwhelming at times, I must commend the management for putting us at a quiet table where we could enjoy ourselves. It was our 10th anniversary and really was a great spot. I can't wait to go back on another special occasion."

  • "Greek cuisine and not just! With plenty of outdoor seating for these summer nights and a view of the water OuzoBay is perfect for all occasions. Professional and attentive staff, perfect ambience and a vibrant bar scene. 5Stars all around from this picky foodie."

  • "We had the most delightful evening here celebrating our special anniversary. Given a heads-up when we made the reservation, they gave us a special table, a very attentive waiter, and the kid glove treatment. The food was wonderful, but the experience was superb."

  • "We had heard great things about this restaurant and decided to spend our anniversary dinner dining at Ouzo. Everything was great. We were seated exactly at our reservation time despite the crowds. The waiter was fantastic and the food delicious especially the halibut entree we split. I would go back for sure. Many good things to try on the menu. Atmosphere was fun. Tables are on top of one another so privacy is not something you will likely have if you need it."

  • "We went to Ouzo Bay on a Wednesday night with an 8pm reservation and weren't seated until 8:45. The restaurant was extremely loud until about 10, when it slowed down about. That being said, the food was absolutely delicious and definitely worth the wait."

  • "I can't begin to explain how fantastic this place is. Between the knowledgeable waiters, the amazing food, and extensive wine list, the whole experience was perfect. I was tasked at finding a restaurant to take my very particular employer and I was told Ouzo Bay was the place to go! That was exactly right. My whole party, including my boss was very impressed. They also fit my party in the day before when they were booked with no open reservation. I would recommend Ouzo Bay to anyone and everyone, even the most critical foodie."

  • "This was my 4th visit to Ouzo Bay, so obviously we have had previous good experiences. The drinks still were wonderful - there is some capable mixology going on there. The food was uneven: great octopus and sea bass, capable albeit tame lamb, and tasteless and slightly tough tuna...and too much lemon on everything - yes, it's Greek, but the other flavors get masked. In past visits all of the fish has been excellent, so maybe this was a one-off. Service was very cursory. Drinks came quickly but never were offered replenishment, and table visits were minimal. The noise level continues to be a challenge for inside dining; my small party had trouble conversing. So, still a fun spot for drinks, but not as steady on food and service."
