I have lived in Houston for nine years and consider Ouisie's Table to be at the top of my favorite restaurant list.

I have grown up with Ouisie's, starting when there was a simple chalkboard menu on Sunset. The food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. It is wonderful to have such an excellent restaurant where kids are welcome, but, at the same time, adult groups can have an elegant meal. Special events are handled effortlessly, with beautiful attention to detail. The Valet Guys are like Nazzis and try to force you out of your car. I tip them and ask to park it myself which is reasonable. They do not assist at all. What difference is it to them. By 5:30pm, it seems like someone could have purchased a few dozen eggs :) or at least alerted the server so that he could have told us which menu selections (the fixed Easter menu) were unavailable before we placed our orders. Otherwise, it was delightful! This was my first visit, my choice for celebrating my birthday with family after hearing so many great things. I look forward to returning. As always the staff, food and ambiance were great. We had booked the Wine Room, but it turned out to be double booked, so we were moved to Lucy's Porch, which overlooks the beautiful outdoor dining area. Menu was wide ranging. We had the: chicken fried steak-good tender meet but needed seasoning and was bland; tuna--very good and well presented; shrimp curry--good taste for the rice, shrimp and curry, but the plate was cluttered with banana slices, cucumber, peanuts, chives plus chutney--which was very good. The other stuff seemed to take away from the dish. Appetizers-fried oysters, tuna tartare-were excellent.
