OuestFrom Texas .. Came from anotherFrom Texas .. Came from another event. Loved the food ,the ambiance and thd location!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the service and theLoved the service and the ambiance! The wait staff were very accommodating (I was dining with some picky people), and seemed happy to provide us with whatever we needed. The brunch was outstanding and I can't wait to come back again to try Lunch and Dinner!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMnice brunchI had been here for dinner twice but this was the first time for Brunch. I met a friend on a Sunday. One of the reasons I chose this restaurant is because they take reservations for brunch, and other favorite places do not. The food was very good, though they do not have a lot of options for vegetarians. I would have preferred being able to choose a simpler omelet than the one I had to get, and the iced coffee wasn't the best. The yoghurt with cherry compote was delicious, though6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Of The WestOuest continues to be the best restaurant on the upper west side and one of the very top places in NYC. The menu is imaginative and we'll rounded. The service is extraordinary and the decor and ambience is comforting and classy. Now a destination for special occasions, foodies, wine enthusiasts and more Ouest consistently wows.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday Dinner DelightWe took our 7 year old grand daughter for a special birthday dinner and we were treated to an outstanding evening. She enjoyed a three course meal and the waiters were wonderful to her. Great food and an excellent service for a busy Saturday evening.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat all restaurants should be ...Consistently delicious relaxed and attentive knowledgable service quiet enough convivial!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Good; Service UnfriendlyFood was very good; we brought a guest from California and we were pleased that she found Ouest very good; however we were not happy with our waiter; he was not cooperative when she requested a simple vegetable plate dinner; he seemed unhappy all night as if he really did not want to be there; he was not available when I needed something; he neglected us; and a couple of times I asked a woman waiter who was passing our table for something; she was immediately responsive, kind and friendly. I wished she had been our waiter; it would have made so much difference.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is a trueThis restaurant is a true treasure. You would never guess from looking at the outside of this place that there is this beautiful restaurant inside. The service was impeccable and the food was perfectly prepared, presented and devoured! This will definitely become a favorite go-to eatery on the UPW.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this placeFood always outstanding and wait staff always so accommodating.
Best in and out of neighborhood5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMMet old friends who we couldMet old friends who we could actually hear and talk to. Wonderful drinks and food. Comfy seats and table. Good service.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe clean plate club unites!i love Ouest because of the flavors presented in every dish. They are a step above in every way. If licking the plate was socially acceptable, I would do it!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat is always delicious? The rack of lamb is unfailingly delicious, cooked to perfection; couple the lamb with haricot verts, and add a simple salad beforehand with a little warm bread--a perfect meal!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty food; somewhat rude waiterI have dined at Ouest numerous times and always had a great service in the past, but this time not. I know that a waiter’s job is difficult when the restaurant is full. Still, a nice place such as this comes with a certain expectation of service. My purse was hanging off the back of my chair. Ouest is spacious, especially when compared to other New York restaurants, so there was no reason I should not have been able to hang it there. Yet, our waiter kept banging into it until he knocked it to the floor. I probably would not have minded as much if he had at least apologized, but he did not. I couldn’t believe it.
I do want to stress that all of the busboys seemed really nice and the food was delicious.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways A TreatOuest is always my go-to restaurant for a special night out with friends or just the two of us. The menu is inventive, varied and deliciously accessible. I'm always proud to share this New York gem with out-of-towners.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dining! We enjoyed the entire experience! Loved the decor esp the round red tables. Service was great! Food was delicious from start to finish!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite restaurant inOur favorite restaurant in NYC. A visit to the City would not be complete without a stop at Ouest. For me the meal must include a Ouest martini and the smoked sturgeon appetizer. Their consistency and quality are outstanding.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBigger than it looks on the outsideWe were a family gathering and everyone liked their food. The waitress was very efficient as was the food service. We sat in a booth so we were able to have a nice conversation.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant for grown-ups.Such a refreshing "adult" restaurant, not that the crowd is old, I saw some hipsters in there too. Food is always excellent, nice wine & spirits list, and attentive staff. Always a treat!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOuest is by now a local institutionOuest is by now a local institution serving consistency tasty food from a slowly changing menu. Drinks are great and food, while somewhat heavy, is creative and attractively presented. We gontherereligiously, if not frequently.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for brunchA very nice brunch menu. The service was attentive but the main course was slow arriving. Very nice ambience.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOuest is one of the best placesOuest is one of the best places to dine in NYC period. Food amazing; service top notch; wine list excellent. To have that caliber dining experience on the UWS is wonderful. You can use it for a special occasion of course - but it also plays perfectly for a great week night outing w/ friends or family. It is that versatile. A real gem.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been to Ouest many timesHave been to Ouest many times and it is always first rate. I especially like the way they prepare meat. It is the only place to get a proper hanger steak. The service is always good and usually helpful. Don't think I've ever been seriously disappointed with this restaurant.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMuffins and scones were delicious.Muffins and scones were delicious. Great start. The crispy fried poached eggs with smoked duck were outstanding.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was wonderful to find aIt was wonderful to find a place that is not noisy. The food was very good. I had the trout which was delicious. My friends had the halibut and enjoyed that, too. The beet salad could have had more goat cheese, but other than that, we really enjoyed our dinner.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOuest is the best! They graciouslyOuest is the best! They graciously increased our reservation from 4 to 5 and gave us a perfect banquet and waitress, Amber. Delicious food! Prompt service! Fabulous in every way!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a date. Bring money. One of the more romantic. The crispy duck was anything but. Minor objection.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways have loved this place!Always have loved this place! Everything is excellent!!!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe unassuming facade of thisThe unassuming facade of this upper west side gem belies the experience just inside the door. Old world styling with dark wood paneling, red leather booths, and soft lighting set the tone for a peaceful dining experience. The menu offerings are creative and delicious with an appealing and fresh presentation. While portions were not large, they are adequate. Likewise, service was not particularly attentive, but we the staff were unobtrusive and we were not rushed. The setting was perfect for Sunday brunch with our family of five, including three teenagers. We would return.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here is fantastic. The food here is fantastic. We went for brunch and the booths and tables are a great size for groups. Definitely come here hungry because the brunch deal includes 2 courses and the portions are very large. The only downside is the deal doesn't include drinks.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a treat ! The food isWhat a treat ! The food is amazing and the service so
Friendly and accommodating.
Looking forward to returning!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMStill the best on the UpperStill the best on the Upper westside. Just the right level of attention from the waitstaff and the chef's casual quality of offering meatloaf and rack of lamb on the same menu; something for every taste... but yet tasteful in decor and to the palate.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent andThe food was excellent and the service discreet and prompt. In fact it eventually became so prompt that my glass was quickly grabbed before I even got a chance to finish my wine, the check appeared as soon as the last bite of the dessert was eaten, and our waitress came back right away for the payment, even before we got a chance to get our credit cards out.
I understand that it was Saturday night and they probably needed the table, but when you drop close to $100 per person, you kind of expect to be able to wrap things up at your own pace, and ours was not even leisurely.
Apart from this rushed ending, it was a very pleasant experience and the menu is certainly appealing enough to justify another trip.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI was afraid the restaurantI was afraid the restaurant would be stuffy, but the waitstaff and hostess were very down to earth and easy going. I didn't feel pressured and my waiter wasn't snobby and was polite. The food was very good, and interesting. Creative. Overall: would definitely come again.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were really first rate - the only downside is that we were by a window and I was freezing the entire meal!
I had the halibut and it was perfectly cooked.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious brunch. Unique itemsDelicious brunch. Unique items all of which were excellently prepared w fresh ingredients3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat upper Westside restaurant.Nice restaurant with great staff. Interesting menu that varies with seasons. Ravioli pasta is excellent.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful dinner and decor!Truly enjoyed dinner - favorite dish was the salmon gravlax appetizer (would return just for that!). The trout was served cut into 3 pieces - have never seen it presented that way - tasted quite good but, for me, visually it was lacking. Wine list was sufficient if not exciting - drinks were good. Service was effcient- water glasses refilled promptly - wait staff wasn't as warm or engaging as they might have been - seemed disinterested, but still pleasant and got the job done. Loved the feel of the room - big rounded red leather booths - warm and inviting - noise level robust, but didn't interfere w/conversation. I would recommend sitting in the lower, main level room versus the upstairs dining rooms. Overall, very good meal - would return3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA UP WEST SIDE BEST . . .OUEST HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY A VERY GOOD , AND MANY TIMES AN EXCELLENT RESTAURANT ...
IT IS A FAVOR OF MINE , SPECIALLY FOR THE AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY SERVICE... FROM THE DOOR TO THE DINNING AREA WHERE THE MAGIC ALWAYS HAPPENS ...
A NEW YORK TREASURE .....3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFound Quest on Trip Advisor.Found Quest on Trip Advisor. Good fit for pre theatre dinner. We had a very accommodating waiter who served us in an efficient manner. Food was quite good. I had the snails, was disappointed it was nestled in a puff pastry which was delicious but reduced the need for a more sizable portion. My halibut was very tasty as was dessert. The only negative was a light surreptitious spray of water from an unknown source which turned out to be from a little boy's water gun! Disconcerting but only because his parents were not aware, and they were sitting right next to him!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was exquisite asThe food was exquisite as it has always been on my other visits. However, this was entirely negated by a hapless socially awkward waiter who spilled an entire martini over my friend's suit jacket, left her sitting drenched for several minutes. This was accompanied by c He was much more concerned that he had dropped his reading glasses and came back to our area three different times to look on the floor, had us look in our pocketbooks and my friend's briefcase and also looked around the two adjacent tables a few different times. While he did offer the chance to order from the regular dessert menu, I think this was too little, too late. An offer of dry-cleaning would have been much more appropriate.1/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
