Osteria PanevinoThe restaurant was fantastic. The restaurant was fantastic. Food and service were outstanding. The reservation made by open table was not made. Luckily they had a table, we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWilll Be Back...Again!Have dined here before and has always been excellent. This visit was no exception. Great atmosphere, food, and service! Had friends in from San Jose and they too were impressed. Also portions are very good size...no one goes away hungry! One of the best Italian restaurants in the Gaslamp. Highly recommend.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Italian restautant in Gas lampIt's a must if you are in San Diego. Then between the three of us we ordered the fettuccini with swordfish, crab and lobster ravioli, and gnocchi. All excellent! Would definitely come back!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI come here on every trip to San DiAlways excellent; I never miss dining here when I'm in San Diego. Extensive and varied menu; it's hard to choose. Food and service are consistently outstanding. It's also a pretty restaurant. My favorites are the Pappardelle with Ragu and the Rigatoni Carbonara. The wine list has good selections in moderate price ranges. I can't find a negative thing to say!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBest San Diego Gaslamp restaurantThis is simply the very best restaurant in the gaslamp. Best food, best service, best gaslamp location, best everything. Order the Ahi, it is heavenly. I have been going there for 15 years, I have had most of their menu, all is exceptionally great. Their homemade pasta is to die for.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic and outstandingAuthentic and outstanding Italian food. The hand crafted pasta and sauces were mouthwatering.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI could not have been moreI could not have been more pleased. Our waiter, Guiseppe, was outstanding, handling our group of 12 with aplomb. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent.
I will return next time I'm in San Diego.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOsteria Panevino is a greatOsteria Panevino is a great little Italian Restaurant in the heart of the Gaslamp district with excellent food and many choices on the menu. There is also a large wine list. Make reservations ahead of time. The place was full on a Friday evening at 6 PM. Our group of 8 people thoroughly enjoyed the food and service.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGroup DinnerA large group of professional colleagues (13 of us) recently had dinner at Osteria Panevino. The food was delicious and the service was great. We all ended up having bites of each other's meals as the portions were generous. Every meal on the table was tasty. The only small glitch was trying to pay at the end. I certainly understand the difficulty and inconvenience of running 13 different bills. The guest challenge is that this was a business meal and each person has to get a receipt and many people don't travel with cash anymore. We figured it out and everyone loved the gathering. I would recommend Osteria Panevino to other San Diego diners.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Italian food, excellentGreat Italian food, excellent service, cool atmosphere.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent variety and servicePanevino handled our group of 12 gracefully and attentively. Nearly all the dishes pleased the eaters and the breadth of the menu was quite welcome.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was good. Felt a littleFood was good. Felt a little rushed because of people waiting. Owner had a large party at a table close by and kept taking chairs and putting them back. It was like they were having a private party and we were in the way.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA girlfriend and I stoppedA girlfriend and I stopped by to have a glass of wine and appetizers before heading out for the evening. We each had a glass (reasonably priced for the selections), and shared the stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta. Each I would highly recommend and would eat again. We showed up around 9:45 PM, so there were only about 5 parties in the entire place - most on the patio. I look forward to going back and trying the full menu!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood ItalianFor the past several years I have been returning to one of my many favorite Italian restaurants in the Gas Lamp district. I arrived by myself around 6:30pm without a reservation. The place was not busy. I opted to sit outside under the heat lamps to enjoy the happy hour with a glass of their house red wine and to observe the passersby.
I ordered my usual $36 ossobuco Milanese, a veal shank slowly braised with red wine and diced vegetables and served over a bed of saffron risotto. Did I say I love risotto? The ossobuco was as I remember it from last year, just as good.
Table service is consistently good here as was the case today. My total bill was a very affordable $50 so I left very full and satisfied.2/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
