A word from Osteria - Moorestown
A traditional Italian Osteria, where you can choose from our homemade pastas, thin crust pizzas, or wood grilled meats and fish.
Inspired by Osteria Philadelphia, our Moorestown Mall location is classically designed to have a warm, evocative feel in an industrial setting. With wine-red-stained concrete floors, a gleaming vintage Faema coffee machine, solid antique pine country tables and a wall of beautifully stained wine boxes. Additionally, the menu changes seasonally, to go with our 100 bottle Italian wine list featuring grapes from Trentino to Sicily and all stops in between.

We had a fabulous meal at Osteria in Moorestown last night! We began with cocktails and appetizers- the scallop carpaccio (so light and fresh!) and the wood-grilled octopus. What a great start to the meal! Our entrees were the grilled cobia over fresh polenta with mushrooms- every element on the plate was perfect- and pork milanese, at the server's suggestion. He didn't steer us wrong! For dessert, my husband had the house made pistachio gelato, and I had the apple rivoltare (turnover) with apple butter and cinnamon gelato. Again, perfection! Our server (Kyle), the manager, and other staff were very friendly and attentive but not overly so. Excellent all the way around.

Food was excellent. One of us ordered the Fall Harvest Special, and altho every course was very good, it was a bit disappointing that there were only 2 main entrees to choose from and they seemed to be very similar in preparation. Fig pizza was delicious. As was brussel sprout salad and postage stamp ravioli. Ingredients are top shelf and food is creative. Not a lot of good choices for wine by the glass, in our opinion. Un-cushioned wooden chairs do not encourage you to linger over your meal. Service was attentive, friendly and very helpful describing many Italian terms on the menu.

Horrible mozarella appetizer, a lump of deep fried cheese. Pizza was tasteless and on a burnt cardboard crust. This was the lunch special at $15!!! It was so noisy we had to shout to hear each other.

Went to Osteria for brunch with my son. Very disappointed in the limited brunch menu. They didn't even have any fruit as a possible brunch item. The food was not quality and the service was poor. It was a disappointing outing and will probably not go back to this restaurant. They need to improve on many things to make me want to come back for another try.

The service was strange. Four different people took care of us, which was good because they were attentive, but we didn't know who our actual server was. The food was horrible. I got the skirt steak with scallions and mushrooms. It had 2 mushrooms and ZERO flavor. The only reason I even ate it was because it was $30. We also had the mozzarella antipasto, which was really just 2 fried mozzarella squares. If I'm paying $15 for 2 pieces of mozzarella, it better be the best, and it wasn't even close to good. The only good part of the meal was the Prosecco, which the restaurant can't take any credit for. Overall, I'd never go back to this restaurant again, not to eat at least. They need to make some major good changes or it won't last long.

  • Can't beat Osteria for Lunch

I saw the lunch deal promoted--$15 for two courses plus a fountain beverage. You simply can't have a meal like Osteria at that price point. Both the first and second courses were significant. I had an arugula salad and the pasta Bolognese--both were dinner sized portions. Our table also had ordered the mozzarella appetizer, a margarita pizza and veggie Panini. Why eat at a middle of the road spot for lunch when you can get a high end offering at the same price?

Being familiar with Mark Vetri and loving his other restaurants, we were excited to try Osteria in Moorestown. Sadly, it does not compare to the other Vetri restaurants. Despite the high prices, the food was not well conceived (feature ingredients often lost in the pairings), not fresh (Carpaccio came out brownish and stale), and poorly prepared (cold and soupy crème brulee). Service was also lacking (we had to wait for menus, had trouble tracking down server when needed, and appetizer dishes were left un-bussed on the table through most of main course). Had this been a $75 meal, it would have been tolerable. But not for $140. If you are looking for a true Vetri dining experience, head into Philadelphia and skip Moorestown.

Too loud! Even with the windows open and patio dining available, conversation was impossible. Wait staff misrepresented several entree's on the menu which led to some disappointment. Wine list was very limited and the sommeliers simply directed us to the most expensive options available rather than listen to what our tastes were. That said, prices were reasonable but not enough to overcome an average at best dining experience.

Wow. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. I took my mom for her birthday and I was just embarressed. The ambiance was very causual, nothing special. The service was terrible. I spent about $115 and I was still hungry. My fiance's meal was serioulsy just shake and bake, but worse. There was no flavor. My experience overall was plain disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This was our second brunch at Osteria (I've had dinner at both locations many times). I am never disappointed with this restaurant. The pork roll pizza was perfectly thin and crisp. The pork roll is sliced deli thin and the melted fontina is a perfect complement. My friend had the sausage on polenta topped with fried eggs and drizzled with maple syrup. The sausage was slightly spicy and the polenta was creamy.

I can't believe my husband and I wasted money on this restaurant. We should've known the night would go horribly wrong when we were made to wait 20 minutes because we were 15 minutes early for our reservation. We spent the entire meal shooing away flies. Our server had a hard time remembering items we ordered. When she brought anything to our table, she would reach across our plates, nearly putting her arm in our food. And the food was nothing special. Not only were our meals haphazardly plated, but the taste was either bland or burnt. This is our last and only Vetri restaurant experience.

My husband and I went for dinner on a 'date night'. The seating is VERY tight, and bench seating was not luxurious. My husband esp noted several times it felt a little like a 'food court', which can be casual and fun, but the prices were very high leaving one to wonder about the value. We did notice there were other rooms, with more tables and not benches, which I believe would suit better. The wine list is really good and several good wines available by glass or carafe. Food was very tasty, especially the salad/ roasted veggies, and the desserts.

one of a couple new restaurants in Moorestown Mall- long overdue initiative! food was very good and fresh. might be dissapointing for people associating good Italian food to big classic family portions, but if you go for quality , small portions and unexpected twist on Italian Classics- that's a good place to go! we had brunch last Sunday on the patio, all in all pretty good experience- we will probably go back

The menu just seemed like it was trying too hard. Italian food should be simple, all you need are 5 or 6 high quality ingredients to make magic. Our waiter, although sufficient, was a little pretentious and didn't know when to stop talking. Not overly impressed for the prices.

Awesome brunch spot as always. If you don't know the Marc Vetri family of Philadelphia-area restaurants, you're missing out. Three things to know: 1) You must get an awesome drink and there are plenty to choose from 2) You must try a pasta dish 3) But the pancakes always end up being the best thing on the menu.

Bad service, couldn't get anyone's attention to ask for a pepper mill for salad, on a Monday night in a half empty restaurant. In fact, the service felt like a mid priced chain restaurant. My husband's $35 porchetta special was bony and meager, beyond dry, truly a terrible entree. We had most of it boxed, for the dogs. We weren't asked why he didn't eat it. I would have told them, but it was his birthday, the restaurant was his choice. My cobia, my second choice as they were out of snapper, the other fish on menu, was good, as was the tricolor salad. The pizza was fine. This was out second visit. I wanted to love this new addition to S Jersey dining. There are many other places to spend $150 and have a far superior dining experience.

Finally, an Italian restaurant with GREAT, REAL Italian food. Service is spot on - attentive, friendly without being overbearing. The pasta is outstanding, and we've tried several dishes. Have tried the pizzas as well and they are the real deal. Super thin crust and quality fillings. Of note, the seasonal vegetable appetizer platter is exceptional and can be sized to suit the table -- highly recommended! We've tried several desserts as well and I have yet to find one I did not want to order again. Brunch is also great -- French toast is to die for. And in addition to "breakfast" type offerings, there are also lunch dishes as well. Overall, Osteria is a must try if you live in south jersey!

We were very excited to try this new restaurant in our town and we are always trying to support local business. Unfortunately we will not be making a return trip. Our server who was very nice did not supply us her name upon arriving at the table (10 minutes after we sat down). It was close to 20 minutes before we received our drinks from the bar. We ordered the roasted summer vegetable parmigiano for an appetizer and when it arrived it was cold in the center. It was delicious, but cold. We both took a bite and I let the server know. She apologized and when a food runner brought the food back, it was the same dish just heated up. That was a little tacky. Next was our wine with dinner that was served in glasses covered in lint. :-(
