A word from Osteria - Moorestown
A traditional Italian Osteria, where you can choose from our homemade pastas, thin crust pizzas, or wood grilled meats and fish.
Inspired by Osteria Philadelphia, our Moorestown Mall location is classically designed to have a warm, evocative feel in an industrial setting. With wine-red-stained concrete floors, a gleaming vintage Faema coffee machine, solid antique pine country tables and a wall of beautifully stained wine boxes. Additionally, the menu changes seasonally, to go with our 100 bottle Italian wine list featuring grapes from Trentino to Sicily and all stops in between.Continued

  • "Came highly recommend and did not disappoint. Unique and well prepared food choices. Great and affordable wine list. "

  • "Ate at the bar, ordered the charcuterie platter (all house-made with the exception of the prosciutto de Parma), also had the roasted vegetable platter as our bartender Courtney recommended as a great accompaniment to the charcuterie. Both were amazing and inventive. For our entrees, again on Courtney's recommendation, we ordered (to share) half-plates of chicken liver rigatoni, and rabbit and spring onion ragu. Neither was something we probably would have ordered without her recommendation, and both were excellent - full of flavor, well balanced, perfectly cooked. We had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, we were visiting NJ and not likely to be back soon. Thank you, Courtney, for such great service and food recommendations!"

  • "The food was delectable and the service is excellent! If you are looking for more traditional/authentic Italian, then this is the place!"

  • "I had some concerns - other reviews were not great but we love Osteria in Philly. Went to the Morestown Mall and were very happy we did. The mall is terrible. Why they chose that site I will never know. On to the resturant. Nice vibe. Awesome food. Very good service. Was not disappointed. Loved it. Will go again."

  • "So excited to find that the Moorestown location is as good as the Broad Street location in Philadelphia."

  • "The menu was authentic Northern Italian food with many unusual dishes, a mix of unusual dishes for the adventurous eater with more traditional pasta and pizza for the less adventuresome. We had an amazing waiter who really made the night more fun and successful as he beautifully explained the dishes and made great recommendations."

  • "My husband and i wanted to take 2 very special people out for the evening. I made a reservation, last minute, on Open Table, and under requests, asked for a nice table in the main dining room. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the back room, it's just we were looking for the energy and fun ambiance the main room offers. We got a large, great table, right in the center. They always attempt to accomodate you, and we LOVE that! The wine is always great, and the food was, as always superb. We had the shaved brussel sprout salad, the butternut squash pizza, the pasta with rabbit ragu (to die for) and the swordfish. Every plate went back completely empty, it was THAT good! Service was excellent, staff was charming, evening was perfect!"

  • "I had heard Osteria was overpriced and not worth it. But I've always been anxious to try one of the Vetri restaurants to find out what all the fuss is about, and so I decided to ignore my friend's assessment and try it for myself. What I found was fabulous pizza, and very good pasta. But we made the mistake of ordering the special - "pig on a spit." For $32 we got some dried chunks of pork and a pig piece of hard skin (although I love good pork skin, this was way to hard to even bite into) along with a few roasted potatoes - all just thrown on the plate - no presentation whatsoever. For dessert, we asked the waitress for a recommendation and she raved about the bread putting - it was dry and had the texture of a leftover cinnamon bun."

  • "For a restaurant that tries to be formal (stuffy) they should at least have served the champagne in a champagne glass instead of a white wine glass. They missed one entree completely but to their credit it came out pretty quickly. Wrong check was delivered to the table. They did bring a tiny gelato with a candle when they heard there was a birthday. This was my second trip so I decided to order the carpaccio and a anchovy pizza again. Last time all the meat was in a pile on the side. This time the anchovy paste was all on one side and the pizza was swimming in oil. Although very convenient to me I will not be returning to this restaurant. It is too expensive for mediocre."

  • "Food was very good, with some unique dishes. I recommend going with the menu but avoiding the pizza -- in the case of the pizza I'd say it was an example of "tried too hard". But the octopus app and the main course was excellent. The wine list, while large, is on a tablet and I found it very hard to navigate. It actually prevented me from enjoying selecting the wine. When I spoke to the server about it, she dismissed my comment with "We have 1500 bottles back there. It's the only way to keep track." Really? Funny, but I've been to Burn's in Tampa and many other fine restaurants who claim 10,000 bottles on their wine lists, and yet I've been able to use hard copy wine lists with no trouble. They should offer a "hard" wine list."

  • "Our meal was superb, excellent service(thank you Antonio) a bit noisy (as expected) but can not wait to return."

  • "The pizza ovens weren't working the evening we were dining, so we didn't have the opportunity to trythe pizza. Our server seemed disinterested. She didn't ask if we wanted pepper on our salad nor did she ask if we wanted another glass of wine. If it wasn't for the other waiters filling in for her, we would have had no service at all. The food was great but not your typical Italian restaurant. It's more of a gourmet Italian so be prepared!"

  • "We ate lunch. The food was excellent. The octopus was wonderful. I had order it with trepidation, because in the past I had found it too rubbery. This was tender and very tasty. We had the pheasant, the pork and the mozzarella. Everything was wonderful. We sat at the kitchen counter which was entertaining. The noise didn't bother us, but it was only half full. It was a great dinning experience, very expensive - but worth it. If you like good food, I recommend it."

  • "Food well-prepared-very limited menu. Service medium good-picked up towards the end of the meal-on the whole considerably too expensive for the meal-not a particularly warm environment-would definitely not go again for brunch. Very dissappointed at a complete lack of vegetarian options-"

  • "The Baby Pig was on special and it was special. The waitress said it is always on special and they are probably putting on the regular menu soon. My wife ordered a chicken dish. It was brined, roasted and served over puntarella with roasted potatoes. This dish was delicious as well. We ended the evening with gelato. They also have a solid beer selection both bottled and on tap"

  • "Food was awesome, but the service really puts this place well above other restaurants in the area. Too bad the view is of a parking lot. Tables are very closely spaced and noise level increases significantly as the restaurant get more crowded. Neither the view nor the noise level will keep me from coming back, though. I'll make my reservation for earlier in the evening and next time we'll sit at the bar that looks into the kitchen. My foodie husband will love that!"

  • "Nothing is what it appears to be. The rib-eye was smoked and prepared to taste like bacon, which would have been great had we ordered bacon. Every dish we tried was over prepared and the taste of the true food was masked. There were many attempts to remove plates from our table, fewer attempts to bring a second glass of wine or discuss how the food would be prepared. There are many options for fine dining, this isn't one of them. Yes, the food was prepared in the Northern Italian Style...and that's the excuse for the taste. Perhaps if you eat pasta or bread you'd have better options at this establishment."

  • "Had a stellar meal here on Saturday night. We sat at the bar and had our meal. Place was jammed from the time we got there at 9 until we left at 11:30. If you sit at the bar, try to get Fran as your server. He knows his stuff and really takes care of you. I love that they have a lot of the menu items that no longer reside on the menu at the Philly location available here. Pheasant lasagnetta, fig, speck and gorgonzola pizza, suckling pig, rhubard panna cotta and pistachio gelato were standouts. Paccheri with veal ragu needed more veal ragu and to be cooked a bit more, noodles were tough. Chicken liver rigatoni dish was not nearly as good as the original in Philly because the sauce didnt coat the noodles. Outstanding meal overall."

  • "Osteria is my new favorite place. We know the chief is innovative but what really makes it special is the knowledgeable & attentive service."

  • "Menu is a welcome departure from the norm in South Jersey but they do offer some typical italian norms. I was told it was very expensive but I thought it was reasonable. My server was very good. I took her recommendations and I am glad I did. The wine list is on an Ipad which is very 2014, but the set up is a bit confusing and since I stare a computer 50 hours a week it is a turn off for me. I prefer a good old fashion paper list. (I am sure every millenial wants to punch me) All in all I thought it was great!"

  • "We shared the special appetizer arugla with 12 veggies! All were delicious to the last bite. Then shared marinara pizza with an addition of mozzarella. Very good, however the marinara should have been spread more to the ends. The crust is delicious, however we ordered the filling and it was skimpy. Cocktails were divine!"

  • "Our meal began with mozzarella en carozza-the best version I have had of this dish: it is light(not the usual heavily fried fare)with poached tomatoes, instead of marinara sauce. On to the Prosciutto di Parma pizza-thin,crackly,delicious. Pat had a melt in your mouth pork that had been marinated and seasoned with fennel. Dessert was a warm chocolate flan with pistachio gelato-heavenly. Our waiters were excellent-The wines recommended made perfect pairings."

  • "Everything here is terrific, just like on North Broad with one notable exception... it was absolutely impossible to carry on a conversation. The noise level was as high as any restaurant I have ever been to!! Hard walls, hard ceiling, hard floors. If they don't get some sore of noise abatement panels or other system in here, I can't imagine going back. My wife and I are avid restaurant patrons and go to all of the great eateries in Philadelphia. We are huge Verti fans and were thrilled when he opened "over here," potentially saving us a trip over the bridge. But again, the noise level is downright painful. Love the food and people, hate the hoarse voice from yelling and the ringing ears for a day after."

  • "This was my second visit to Osteria and it lived up to the first wonderful experience. The smells, the food the wine, the service OUTSTANDING! If you truly appreciate creativity and excellence in your meal experience then this restaurant is for you! Best seat in the house is at the seating that faces the kitchen. You get to see the cooks in action! Very well orchestrated! BRAVO to your chefs!"

  • "Amazing that a place like this exists in Cherry Hill. From the quality and creativity of the food to the outstanding service, it is a worthy sister to its Philly predecessor. I have never had service like this in New Jersey. From the greeting, to the bar, to the table service everything was perfect. And, as you would expect, the food was outrageously good. Excellent wine selection, without being too expensive. We definitely will go back."

  • "my husband and I went on recomendations from friends and their reputation. Although everything sounded wounderful it didn't taste that way. My Swordfish was overcooked and my husband's pasta was undercooked. We gave the chef some of the pasta back to test and the manager came over to apologize. The management did give us free dessert which was nice of them, but that wasn't anything special either. On talking to another friend, she also told that she had spoken to several couples who had tried Osteria and it was either hit or miss. If a restaurant with a good reputation comes to town and charges big prices for their food, they had better know how to cook it. i should have just oredered a larger salad, which was delicious."

  • "Osteria has the elements for a sorely needed, upscale but casual eatery in SJ. To fulfill the expectation, the dishes need fine tuning. Our artichoke app was burned and not edible. The pasta was way too al dente to enjoy. Some of the menu items did not have adequate descriptions which led to disappointment. Our shrimp app was tasteless. The swordfish spedini however was superb in its execution. If you know what to order you can have a good experience, but due to the elevated menu pricing, one would expect a more consistent delivery. If you order dessert, don't choose the carmel one, because it is polenta which is bland and totally boring as a dessert. Select the gelati and have a rich experience. Osteria is rich in potential."

  • "The absolute best is right here. New lunch menu is fabulous. Absolute best food in south jersey. Must rework the seating. Long row of seating inches from neighbor. We requested a high top apart from the crowd but it was the only one. Maybe need to open the separate room for lunch. Just way too close to neighbor in big room. But all else off the chart great."

  • "My daughter chose to go here for her birthday. Some of the reviews I read were not great so I wasn't sure what to expect. But our experience was good. Food was unusual and divine! Servers very attentive and knowledgable."

  • "A group of 6 of us dined here and we are all in the restaurant industry and one of us being a restaurant owner. The service was outstanding and the server was very knowledgable about everything on the menu. She was able to answer questions and offer suggestions. The menu is wonderful and since it resembles the Osteria on North Broad Street, you are still about to get many favorites at this NJ location with the same consistency and quality. The highlights of that dinner were the Lombarda pizza, Octopus appetizer, Candelle pasta dish, the veal entree and the brussel sprout salad that was a special that evening. I highly recommend. It s a bit of the City in the suburbs."
