A word from Osteria - Moorestown
A traditional Italian Osteria, where you can choose from our homemade pastas, thin crust pizzas, or wood grilled meats and fish.
Inspired by Osteria Philadelphia, our Moorestown Mall location is classically designed to have a warm, evocative feel in an industrial setting. With wine-red-stained concrete floors, a gleaming vintage Faema coffee machine, solid antique pine country tables and a wall of beautifully stained wine boxes. Additionally, the menu changes seasonally, to go with our 100 bottle Italian wine list featuring grapes from Trentino to Sicily and all stops in between.

Great Food but soooo noisy that you can't hear the waitress or your friends across the table. Also the managers don't know how to deal with people who are disruptive in the restaurant. Too bad-- such a nice place in Philadelphia.

Had a great experience at Osteria. The food was outstanding and the service was perfect. Yes the it is a bit pricey but you expect to pay more for good food. The only fault I can find with the restaurant is the ambiance. It was a bit plain and the table spacing good have been better. But that being said we went there for the food and it was fantastic. Will definitely be back

Food was excellent. However, we were at a table where you had a view of the parking lot. Maybe if they could add some "trees" to the barrier on the terrace it would help get rid of the ugly view. Otherwise, food and service was outstanding!

The menu just seemed like it was trying too hard. Italian food should be simple, all you need are 5 or 6 high quality ingredients to make magic. Our waiter, although sufficient, was a little pretentious and didn't know when to stop talking. Not overly impressed for the prices.

Awesome brunch spot as always. If you don't know the Marc Vetri family of Philadelphia-area restaurants, you're missing out. Three things to know: 1) You must get an awesome drink and there are plenty to choose from 2) You must try a pasta dish 3) But the pancakes always end up being the best thing on the menu.

Bad service, couldn't get anyone's attention to ask for a pepper mill for salad, on a Monday night in a half empty restaurant. In fact, the service felt like a mid priced chain restaurant. My husband's $35 porchetta special was bony and meager, beyond dry, truly a terrible entree. We had most of it boxed, for the dogs. We weren't asked why he didn't eat it. I would have told them, but it was his birthday, the restaurant was his choice. My cobia, my second choice as they were out of snapper, the other fish on menu, was good, as was the tricolor salad. The pizza was fine. This was out second visit. I wanted to love this new addition to S Jersey dining. There are many other places to spend $150 and have a far superior dining experience.

We were very excited to try this new restaurant in our town and we are always trying to support local business. Unfortunately we will not be making a return trip. Our server who was very nice did not supply us her name upon arriving at the table (10 minutes after we sat down). It was close to 20 minutes before we received our drinks from the bar. We ordered the roasted summer vegetable parmigiano for an appetizer and when it arrived it was cold in the center. It was delicious, but cold. We both took a bite and I let the server know. She apologized and when a food runner brought the food back, it was the same dish just heated up. That was a little tacky. Next was our wine with dinner that was served in glasses covered in lint. :-(

Service was very good. Competent staff. Menu was a bit esoteric. Food was prepared well. Nice wine list, with high-quality by-the-glass options. Food was well prepared and flavorful. Nothing about was good enough to offset the fact that the front room offers a spectacular view of the Sears department store. In my opinion, far better options for Italian exist in South Jersey. Wouldn't go back.

For a Marc Vetri experience, a little disappointing. Not my type of Sat. Night dining spot. Service was great, apps. were good, but I like my grilled octopus with a little more char and lemon and olive oil I could taste. Pasta w/ fresh fave and mint was very good but whoever added the fresh mint could have used half the amt. It was too overpowering. Less is best. Now for our entre, bistecca for two ( rib eye) cooked to perfection. med. rare. but it had so much grizzle in almost every bite that it no way could be enjoyed. The waitress was very apologetic and the Manager went above and beyond to make us happy. Would definitely return to give a second try when in the area.

We had high expectations, given the hype of Marc Vetri's "new place" in NJ. Unfortunately, the restaurant was very loud (including crying babies and too-loud "background" music). The atmosphere seemed "casual weekend family place" (including beach attire), rather than "nice restaurant". Food was hit-or-miss: 1 excellent appetizer, 1 not memorable; 1 very good pasta entree, a disappointing chicken dish. Menu description of dish didn't necessarily match what came out of the kitchen. Table staff were pleasant and attentive, as well as competent. Professional appearance and demeanor of staff versus very casual attire and attitude of hostess had me guessing, though. Wine recommendations were accurate, wines were a bit pricey.

We dined at Osteria during Restaurant Week - 3 courses for $35. We really enjoyed the margherita and parma pizzas. The entrees were well prepared. We noticed that all the other tables had metal buckets that contained bread and breadsticks and a metal olive oil pitcher. As a result of poor service, we did not receive the bread or the oil which was disappointing. Overall it was a good experience.

By chance we were there on restaurant week. With no soft surfaces in the room, it was very noisy that evening. Not great for conversation but the food was excellent. Our only complaint was that we are not "foodies" and could have used an explanation of what some of the menu items were. Be sure to try some of the great desserts.

I love itlian food and Osteria provided a different glimpse of Italian food. I went on during "Pre-it Restaurant Week" so my menu was limited. However what was available was unique and diverse. The flatbread was great and their pastas were nice and rich. The flavor was a bit bland and I wasnted to add salt and or garlic so some of the dishes but I chalked it up to the food being simple and not requiring bold flavors. I love exotic and richly flavored food such as Indian and Asian meals so my opinion may be tendentious. The server was great and we had nice personable moments which always makes a dining experience excellent.

I like Osteria. It is very cool inside, the food and the service are good. I was, however, very disappointed in their Restaurant Week Menu. I was really hoping for something creative and fun from them. But they simply labelled the left side of the menu as Course 1 and the right side of the menu as Course 2. So huge pizza and steak :/

We snuck in last minute for an early dinner celebrating my Mother's 70th Birthday. It was restaurant week and the menu was terrific. I asked the sommelier to suggest something to go with my fusilli with fava beans and mint and she quickly offered an excellent sparking lumbrusco rose. It was perfect. They even had a few fitting dishes for my 5 year old. Everyone loved their meal and my 86 year old Italian Father said, "this is the best meal I've had out in a long time." That's actually the only review you need! A great time for us all!

Great dinner at Osteria during PREIT Restaurant Week. Would love to be able to say we will be back often, because the food was phenomenal. But normal cost of dinner for two plus drinks will certainly be over $100, and that puts Osteria in the "special treat" category rather than being our "go-to" place every other week. You get what you pay for!!! It is fabulous.

A bit noisy, but a great staff. The restaurant is located in a mall, and has both indoor and some outdoor seating. The pancetta wrapped snails with spinach potato purée was fantastic. The snapper with escarole, cannelloni beans and olives was very good. Not quite sure how to attack the pis skin. Good portions and unfortunately no room for dessert. The coffee and cappuccino were very tasty.

Once we were seated we totally forgot that we were eating in a mall. Osteria was so charming, the food so beautifully served and delicious that we felt we were in downtown Philadelphia. You can spend a lot, which we did, eating appetizer's, main courses and dessert, or a little sharing a pizza and 1 dessert, which the couple next to us did. The service was superb from the busboy to the servers to the waitress who took the order.

I expected more from Marc Vetri. I ordered the rabbit. It was so over-spiced with rosemary that the taste of rosemary dominated the dish, like eating a rosemary plant. Worse yet, there were small shards of bone throughout the dish, making it nearly impossible to eat. I have NEVER complained at a restaurant - I generally just live and learn and not go back - but this time I mentioned the issue to my waitress, which I did very quietly so others did not hear me. The waitress asked if I was OK and then left the table. The manager came over, asked the same question, and then told me the beer I had ordered was on the house. Huh? My beer was fine. It was my dinner that was terrible. Will never go back to this restaurant.

We decided to bring the kids along for a "nice" dinner to Osteria at the Moorestown Mall. Even with happy hour ($5 wine and great $7 cocktail), one shared appetizer and two shared desserts--we still were looking at $200 with tip (two adults and two kids). We remarked to ourselves how the Osteria option provided a high end alternative to chains at the Cherry Hill Mall (along now with Distrito next door). And that is a good thing. The food is excellent; the service improved (from our last visit). It is a worthwhile spend when looking for a quality dining experience in South Jersey.

Don't let the mall location deceive you...this is great food....even if you do have to walk through the mall! We chose the Moorestown location because we felt the traffic & parking would be less of a hassle. The menu is fantastic! Cocktails fabulous! I enjoyed the Cotechino & the roasted suckling pig (they had me at "crispy skin"!). My fiance ordered the pig trotter cavatelli & the chicken liver rigatoni & then the skirt steak which was the only thing he was kinda disappointed about. The menu said it came with ramps, but his was served with green onions. We realize July is past prime ramp season, but it was the whole reason he chose that dish. For dessert, the budino & salted caramel butterscotch zuppa...both yummy! Would return!
