A word from Osteria Langhe
A warm, inviting neighborhood spot that celebrates the traditions of Italy’s Piemonte region. Chef Cameron Grant"s menu offers locally-sourced, seasonal and sustainable dishes that reflect his Italian training. The moderately priced wine list offers an array of the best offerings of the regions and features 70 wines priced between $32 and $90 a bottle. A few select wines, including French Champagne, rise to $135 a bottle. A great craft cocktail list featuring locally made as well as Italian spirits and a few Italian beers round out the offerings.

Monday's are reserved for special events, such as all you can eat tajarin with meat ragú, grigliata (platters of grilled meats), and winemaker dinners. The simple, comfortable, rustic room features a mural of the Italian countryside transporting diners to the hilly, vineyards of Piemonte. Al fresco dining at the sidewalk patio is a charming option.

Very enjoyable evening. The food was excellent. It was their take on Piedmonte cuisine-maybe not completely authentic, but certainly delicious. The staff and owner were very congenial. Will certainly come back to work our way down the menu.

Such a great experience. I'm a very adventurous foodie, whereas my boyfriend likes different variations of Italian, American and Mexican. This was a compromise - Italian with foodie flare. He was skeptical, I had read about it in Chicago Mag and was dying to try, so we went for a mid-week date night. Ordered Polipo, Cavolini, Plin and Coniglio - all to share. We were blown away. My personal favorite was the Plin (heavenly, tangy parmesan filled pasta pockets), his was the Coniglio (perfectly cooked rabbit with potato). Only complaint would be that the wait staff hovers, which made us feel a little rushed even in a near empty restaurant - I don't need the plates cleared immediately upon finishing or my water refilled every time I take a sip.

Great wine list & some good dishes but their uneven quality & portion size is a problem. The scallop appetizer was tiny -- not even a full sweetbread but a few nubbins -- while the octopus one was huge with nicely done octopus but mushy & flavorless tomato salad. Pricey risotto with white truffles fell short of better versions at other restaurants. Tagliatta was unexciting but fine & rabbit was good but denuded of flavor so it tasted like chicken. Limetta dessert was delicious. Our server seemed to think we'd never had Italian food -- amusing since she mispronounced names of dishes. Perhaps many patrons are new to this cuisine but that shouldn't be assumed. The noise inside was so loud it drove us outside.

Wow. I was stunned by the high prices and small portions. I left dinner with a $165.00 bill and was wondering where I should go to eat since I was still hungry. It's the first time I've ever seen Risotto listed as Market Price. And our server explained the dish well; but never told us the price. $28 for a portion slightly larger than you would be served at a small plate restaurant. If you like overpaying for dinner, this place is the right fit.

Dinner at Osteria Langhe was an absolute delight. The food was delicious, nuanced, complex, and sophisticated - the kind of thing you'd find at the fanciest, hardest to get into kind of places - but the ambience was of an intimate neighborhood eatery. The service was extremely warm and the waitress was knowledgable about the menu. Not your typical Italian food, the menu was full of interesting combinations and ingredients - rabbit, escargot, we especially enjoyed the sunchoke fonduta. Highly recommend for a date night, dinner with a small group of friends or out of town company. An impressive addition to Logan Square and the Chicago restaurant scene.

Tiny, bland portions that are insanely overpriced. Carne cruda was basically a raw burger patty, Brussels sprout salad contained (maybe) 5 sprouts, pasta was simply bad, chicken was nothing special. Mediocre drinks that are also (surprise!) overpriced. Pretentious atmosphere. Avoid.

Osteria Langhe specializes in the food and wine of Piemonte, the area around Turin in northwest Italy that has changed hands between France and Italy over the centuries, which shows in its food. Osteria Langhe serves many dishes you won't see on other Italian menus and many of the wines are Barolos, Barbarescos and Dolcettos. Believe the server when s/he tells you the pasta portions are small; all the portions are pretty small and three courses before dessert does not make an overly large meal. All said, the food is very good. Most of the money must have been spent on the kitchen and food because the decor is minimal and so is the cool air, as ventilation is achieved with an open door and ceiling fans. Go when the weather is cooler!

I wanted to love this place because the food was excellent, but the service was terrible. Our server was informative and attentive for the first ten minutes, but basically non existent when it mattered. We sat at the table for more than 20 minutes without food or drinks at the tail end of the meal. We wanted dessert and after dinner drinks, but by then the desire had passed and we were forced to finish our meal at Tasty Freeze across the street.

This is a great experience all the way around! Our server was very knowledgable about food, wine and Italian culture. He discussed what the Langhe area of Italy is know for and helped us pair wines with our food. The food was fantastic, unique and very authentic! The atmosphere at the restaurant is pleasant, clean and relaxed.....it feels like a neighborhood Italian restaurant should. We will be back!

Stuck back on Armitage west of the Kennedy, this miniature version of a real Italian restaurant pretends to serve food and wine typical of Italy's Piedmont region. Suffice it to say "no". With table room for approximately 30 people and maybe 8 more at the bar, the facility is physically thin and cramped. Listed as an appetizer, the "Panino Aperto" (which translates as "open sandwich") is described as "grilled bread, please ask your server for seasonal daily dressing". This, like several other menu options is "MP" or "Market Priced". Are you serious?! Market price for bread?! So what did we get for our MP open sandwich appetizer? Three very small pieces of thinly sliced charred bread, topped with fatty... See the full review on Yelp!

The food was excellent. Classic Italian/ European fare, but with the added flair of interesting and sometimes quirky ingredients. The complexity of flavors in the dishes we shared was very nice, subtly balanced and seemed carefully crafted by the chefs. Service was friendly and outstanding overall.

I read the reviews online about this place and they were all positive but I had no idea the actual experience would exceed my expectations. Food was amazing, I felt like I was eating at an upscale restaurant in Italy for a very reasonable price. The service was excellent and the manager gave us a total rundown of the menu which was really helpful. You could tell he was passionate about the food they were serving. I will absolutely be going back. This type of restaurant is exactly what that neighborhood needs.

I went on Yelp to find a spot in the Logan Square area and immediately found Osteria Langhe, which was rated very highly. After perusing several of the very favorable reviews, I went ahead and made an Open Table reservation. We were not disappointed! Quite the contrary, all aspects of our dining experience were top notch. Service was very friendly and courteous -- the owner personally greeted us and other diners as we settled in. Both the drinks and the food were spectacular. This will be one of our repeat favorites!

Of all the new Italian restaurants that opened in the city this last year, this is hands down the best. Chef Cameron is clearly so passionate and knowledgable about this particular region in Italy – he worked there for many years. The pomodoro salad is a must, along with the panna cotta for dessert. Love how they leave the wine at your table and allow you to serve yourself. They could use some sound paneling though. On weekends it gets very loud.
