Not as good as last time. Pizza was great. My flank steak great. But the 2pasta dishes were a little over cooked this time. Not so last time. Service was a little off but certainly not to point where we were put off. It's just that it was a big contrast to previous visit. They forgot to bring olive oil to table. Had to flag someone down for grated cheese. Anyway I would definitely go back. I

The food is very good if not spectacular, service friendly and polished if a little slow at times, and the atmosphere/vibe is very nice. Although quite loud, tables are not crowded together. I do recommend it if you're in the Grand Central area.

What can you expect from a restaurant right on 42nd St, near Grand Central? That's what this is. It's serviceable Italian food, quick in-and-out, excellent service. There are so many like this in NY, though, and there's nothing here that stands out - certainly not the icy woman who "greeted" me at the door.

Requested a quiet table when reservation. was made. Got there and was seated in most noisy part of restaurant. When asked for something else hostess appeared irritated and said its noisy all over. We were moved to the white tablecloth back room which was a bit quieter. Food was good. Wait service was fine. However after paying our bill the waiter came back and asked if he could have our credit cards again because our checks had been voided. He couldn't explain what happened. Finally we asked for the manager Who took responsibility for the snafu. Although pleasant ,when told she was the person who should have come over with an explanation she back peddled. Behavior soured experience.

Met some friends for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The service was fantastic from the Bar tender to the entire staff. The food was SO GOOD. We shared FOCACCIA ALLA ROBIOLA and ANTIPASTO DELLA LAGUNA and for main courses, PAPPARDELLE CON RAGÚ D’AGNELLO, LOBSTER RISOTTO SPECIAL and STINCO D’AGNELLO AL FORNO and finished off with TIRAMISU. You won't be disappointed, it's a must.

I had the salmon and goat cheese ravioli which was pretty good. The sauce was excellent. Our waiter however was inattentive and we had to wait a while to order and get fresh pepper (which we had to ask for). I'm hoping it was just an off night for him.

I have beeen going to Osteria Laguna for years and the food is always good. This time however, I was at a business meeting and the server completely forgot to put in our lunch. We were the first one's there and well after an hour everyone was eating but us. My co-worker had to leave for a meeting and cancelled her meal. Afterwards, there were no apologies or anything. When I spoke to a manager, they said there was nothing they can do and they took her meal off the bill. Meanwhile, there was no meal because she cancelled it. For the price of the resturant, I would expect WAY better service.

Met a colleague for lunch. We were seated in a corner table in the back where we were told it was not as noisy as in the front. I ordered the grilled salmon which was delicious and huge. It was seasoned lightly and served medium rare (therefore moist) as I requested. The sauteed spinach was a bit too salty and dense for my taste. The wait staff was attentive and accommodating. We arrived at noon and by the time we left the restaurant was full. I haven't been there in a while and was hoping it was as good as I recalled. Evidently Osteria Laguna has not lost its appeal.

this was our second time at the restaurant for a small group get together. we were a party of five women and felt the noise level too high - our reservation was at 6:00. we were at a round table and had to raise our voices when speaking which was uncomfortable. our server was not very friendly with a bit of a condescending attitude. our group had a lot of catching up to do and she made a comment about taking 35 minutes to decide on what to order. not acceptable and we will not be back despite the delicious food.

My frequent lunchtime companion and I couldn't enjoy catching up the other day over fantastic homemade pasta with seafood because of the noise level. You might as well go to Osteria Laguna alone. I'm not sure what makes it so loud; maybe it's the sheer size of the place or all the suits who lunch there. The food is wonderful, the staff attentive, the flowers gorgeous. Now, if only... Maybe try going very early or very late for lunch, or just go with someone you want to stare at in wordless admiration?

Ordered lasagna and it was basically mush. The lasagna noodles were so overcooked all I could taste was cheese and the meat sauce. I mentioned that to waitress and was told that's how lasagna is supposed to be! I could have just ordered meat sauce with cheese and saved the calories of the noodles.
