Very good service, ambiance, and the food was good. This was our second time coming here and likely our last. First time, food, service, and portions were very good, but this time after spending $32 for the salmon, I had to spend more to get another serving of ragu noodles. Just wasn't worth the cost. Too bad as the place is nice.

The service my friend and I experienced was lackluster. Our bread and pre-entrée plates were taken off the table without our permission. Towards the end of the meal we felt very rushed and commentary to my friend regarding the pace at which she was eating was commented on by the waitress, which didn't make for a comfortable dining experience.

I was pleasantly pleased to find this hidden restaurant in Seattle's up and coming new neighborhood... I originally went to hear Gail Pettis, jazz singer, perform... the restaurant, food, ambiance, service was a huge bonus. I'll definitely be back!

The food as always was just great. Three of us shared two starters (Prosciutto and a special) and two pasta dishes, chestnut gnocchi and Tagliolini with spec and mushrooms. Service as a bit slow at the start, probably could have used another on waitstaff that night. Our waiter didn't really know the different kinds and styles of gnocchi in Italy when asked the origin of the chestnut and cream special. Said he'd ask the chef but never came back with a response. Still, all in all a truly authentic Cucina Romana...even with a twist.

I had the pagliatelle pasta dish with duck, which was pretty good. There was something a little lacking from the taste, but good overall. And the homemade pasta was delicious! My husband had the filet mignon. It was good, but nothing special and definitely not worth the $32! The lighting at our table was a little weird and we had to move the table...it was like a spot light on my hubby's face.

We started with the fried cauliflower and crostini appetizers. If they served the cauliflower as a main dish, I would have ordered it as my entree =) Delicious! Not too salty, and fried to perfection. Our second course consisted of ink lasagna with a bechamel sauce and a red sauce gnocchi. I was satisfied after eating 1/2 of the lasagna, but did not (could not) stop eating. It just kept you wanting more! My friend who had the gnocchi, licked her plate clean. We finished with a chocolate torte and the panna cotta desserts. Perfect sweets to end a great meal. Highly recommend!

My daughter suggested we take advantage of Restaurant Week in Seattle for a belated birthday celebration for her boyfriend. We tried for reservations at 2 restaurants we had been to many times before but they were both booked - I had read of La Spiga and it was close to their apartment. We were very pleasantly surprised at the service, the quality of the food, the wine list - all of it. The salmon lasagna was especially noteworthy, although the panna cotta was quickly "tasted" off the plate. A lovely evening all around.

I like to try new (and return to old) restaurants for Restaurant Week. I no longer eat meat, so I am restricted to those dining spots which offer some veggie meals. La Spiga does not disappoint. Delicious offerings. And they did include dessert, which most of the Restaurant Week participants have scrapped for the lunch menu. Much appreciated.

Love the ambiance of the old automotive building. Ate there during Seattle Restaurant week and the food was delicious. The only Minor negative comment was the pork panini could have used a bit of spicing up. Soup and tiramisu were awesome. Service was very attentive but not intrusive. The only mystery left in my mind is whether the coffee is "HOT" when served and since I didn't order any, I don't know. Good hot coffee goes a long time way in my book.

The restaurant is austere but sophisticated in feel, airy with the high ceiling and seating is not crowded. Service was helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and portions were appropriate, no take-home. That is good since the preparation and presentation were geared to eating now, not later.

I was not impressed with the food considering how expensive the prices are. I had an appetizer that said it had white anchovy in it and there wasn't a molecule of white anchovy that I could taste or find...(though there was tasty fennel)... same with porchetta with fennel and braised greens; there was tasty fennel, a lot pork, but not a single bit of braised greens which would have balanced out the heavy pork and made the meal complete. I regret not complaining when I had the chance. Though the ambiance is very nice, and service was good, and the wines really quite good (the highlight of the meal were the wines by the glass and the fantastic panna cotta dessert), I won't return any time soon

After reading the menu online we were excited to try this restaurant. The design and layout were very nice. It will be interesting to see what they eventually do with the outside space. We were seated promptly. The server and the server assistant were great. Wine questions to the server were answered showing a good deal of knowledge of his menu. Both the food and the wine were delivered promptly. The service was constant and did not intrude. The biggest disappointment was the food. Out of six items (two appetizers, two entrees and two desserts) there was only one item that stood out in concept and flavor. All items were well plated and looked great but tasted dull. There was nothing worth returning for.

We looked through many menu offerings for Restaurant week and ultimately chose Osteria La Spiga. We loved the building architecture! So modern and old all at the same time. Nice open space with tons of detail from the iron work to the old wood floor. Our server was fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed the Porchetta and the simplicity of the gnocchi but the desserts were not good. The flourless hazelnut cake was dry and tasteless. We didn't even eat it. The coconut panna cotta had a great creamy texture but lacked flavor and we could see the imprint of the Solo brand cup on top of the panna cotta which was tacky. The spicy vodka drink with chili infused vodka and passion fruit was awesome. Overall, we enjoyed it

We chose this restaurant for Seattle Restaurant Week based on the menu selections and recommendations. I ordered the Cavolfiori as an appetizer, it was delicious. I had the Lasagne di Salmone as an entree and found that it was warm and the cuttlefish ink lasagna noodles had an interesting non pasta like texture that I will probably not ordered it again. As for dessert, the three choices (Sorbetto, Torta di Cioccolato, and Panna Cotta)were fantastic. I had a chance to try them all and recommend ordering any of the three.

The food is outstanding, the restaurant attractive, spacious and comfortable, with tables not too close together so you can have easy conversation at your table. I ordered the same thing I had the last time I was there a couple of months ago: lasagna with eggplant. The pasta and the eggplant slices are very thin, covered with a very tasty sauce. I'm not a foodie so I don't remember what was in it but, even though the menu has many other attractive things on it, I'm likely to have that eggplant lasagna again the next time I'm there. It is so good!

I had not eaten at this restaurant in a couple of years, but had dinner with friends recently on a Thursday night. The food and drinks took a very long time eventhough the restaurant wasn't very crowded. Finally, the food came. The pasta special that I ordered was under seasoned and my friend's braised pork paperdelle was barely warm, noodles stuck together, gummy to chew and had only one bite of braised pork in it. We sent it back. Our server commented that the dish had looked different than it usually did and asked if my friend wanted something else. Because everything took so long my friend declined. The server also stated that she brought the dish knowing it looked different than how that plate is supposed to be. Stay away from here.

Upon a out-of-town friend's recommendation I returned to La Spiga for my birthday dinner with a group of friends, and was not disappointed--the staff was friendly and the food was delicious. We started off with a few antipasti for the table, and I got the salmon special for the evening with a side house salad. The antipasti portions were average, but the entree portion was definitely on the lighter side. The server was even able to recommend a decent wine pairing with dinner which I appreciated. My only disappointment was that we had reservations for 8:15PM, but were not seated until about 8:40PM. However, I would return to the restaurant for the food, and would be curious to try their other entree offerings.

We had a delightful lunch here - the eggplant lasagna is really special. It was pretty quiet at lunch time, very pleasant. But I've been here at night when it was packed, and the noise bounces off all the hard services. The have an excellent list of wines by the glass, and the proprietor really knows his Italian wines. His advice was much appreciated. Our server was superb - attentive without being intrusive.

We brought a guest from Japan to dinner here and had a wonderful meal. The specials were fresh, interesting and generously-sized portions. The gnocchi was delicate and melt in your mouth luscious. The risotto was creamy and sauced/seasoned with restraint. The wine list was great -- things you don't often see on restaurant menus, a white from Terlaner in the Alto Adige region of Northern Italy and a lovely Barbera from La Spinetta in Piemonte. The desserts were tasty and the espresso well-made and rich. Service was attentive but not overly/annoying. All in all a delightful evening of memorable food. We will return!

Wine advice was good and waiter friendly and professional. Noise level on a Thu eve was lower than on previous occasions. Deck was booked for a private event or we would have enjoyed trying it. Tiramisu was a lovely dessert--owner's mother's recipe, I think.

I've dined at La Spiga numerous times, in small groups and in large groups, and it has always been great; however, Sunday night was a major disappointment. My uncle and his 80 year old brother were visiting, and we took them here for the final evening's dinner. The table wasn't ready, and I asked to be moved as we weren't going to squeeze into a booth and have someone sticking out on the end. There was much confusion and we were led to another table; however, no one acknowledged us for several minutes, and I had to ask for menus. I also had to move drapes to keep the sun out of our guests' eyes. We all generally felt that the staff was slow, we sat with dirty plates in front of us for quite some time, etc. No longer my "go-to" place.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. They've been around for about 15 years now so they don't have as much buzz as some places but they are very consistent in providing a great dinner. Our waiter was knowledgeable and fun to work with. The restaurant is big and spacious and had live trumpet music. The food is the best part. Everything tastes very authentic and both the primis and secondis are rich in flavor and tender in texture.
