"My co-worker and I try a new place for lunch every Wednesday and this week was at Osteria LaBuca! It was outstanding, our best yet... and we didn't even have a "daily deal" for this place! The food AND the service were excellent. We had the pizza with the fried egg and the muffaletta panini and both were extremely flavorful and unique. We couldn't stop saying how good the food was. We also had Guillermo (sp?) for our server and he was the BEST! Very gentle but knew how to handle the table and guide us to the selections we ordered. We will definitely go back, a great culinary experience! :-)"

"I wouldn't go for a romantic meal, the ambiance is too industrial and the recorded music is played at levels too high for easy conversation. Upstairs would be better - depending on if there are large groups up there. Food is quite good - not traditional Italian, but Italian with local ingredients and the chef's own take."

"Not particularly accommodating to vegetarians (and vegans should not bother). Bit of attitude when it came to requesting modifications so that our vegetarian friends could actually eat... ie, removing the pancetta from a pasta or producing a pizza without cheese would "ruin the integrity of the dish". If this is the way the wind blows at La Buca, they should consider putting a caveat on their website. The owners might also consider whether or not this attitude is truly representative of Italian cooking and culture, where conviviality is usually the rule of thumb and guests should never leave the table hungry!"

"Came here with my friends for an early dinner. The food was great, with originality and flavor. But the portions were too small for its price. The servers were very attentive, but overall I was a little disappointed because I had really high expectations."

"Osteria La Buca is an amazing little restaurant. The food is consistently good, the wine list interesting and varied, the prices are reasonable and appropriate for this level of restaurant. And the service is great. We've had Manny many times and he's always on top of his game."

"A bottle of wine in my arms when we arrived, our waiter asked if we'd like him to cork it. He was enthused as much as we were because it was a nice bottle of aged Rhone wine. Never indicating what the corkage fee was (or if there was one), we noticed a $20 charge on our receipt. We didn't say anything, paid the bill, but weren't happy. Alongside the pizza that was soggy in the middle, the arugula salad was boring, lots of leaves, tons of parmesan, but no flavor. This was a very upsetting experience considering we heard such great things, however, we are used to eating in Beverly Hills where chefs constantly push the envelope with regard to creativity and adding flavor. Sorry Osteria, but there was nothing exciting about your food."
