Osteria d'Assisi was opened in 1995, in a renovated home in the historic downtown district of Santa Fe. The restaurant is named after the city of Santa Fe's patron saint, Saint Francis, who was born in the town of Assisi in Italy. Italian h'osteria's are known for their authentic cuisine served in… a homelike, warm & friendly atmosphere. The Osteria d'Assisi features regional Italian cuisine, utilizing the time honored Mediterranean approach to preparing food with olive oil and fresh ingredients. "AAAGH- that row of 2 tops crammed together.... Better not want a cozy intimate experience. Food very reliable Staff very helpful. Noise can be loud -small restaurant. Small patio. Nice bar. Suggest they reconfigure floor plan, and get host to seat for as much privacy as possible. We were stuck between a succession of diners, even tho there was an opportunity to leave a table empty between diners at one point. We will NOT go there again as a twosome-this is a longstanding issue,never addressed.May not bother some, but for us it's too close for comfort, or any semblance of privacy.As well, part of our dinner was in the dark as the owner decided to play with the lighting -maybe attend to that prior to service?"

"We had a party of 8 to grab dinner for restaurant week in Santa Fe. We've normally had great experiences in the past at Osteria D'Assisi, but always with parties of 6 or less. Our appetizers arrived ~ 1 hr. after we were seated, and our entrees were overcooked. Maybe it was just an off-night for Osteria with a large number of people attending for restaurant week."

"We had had a delicious lunch a couple of months ago so we were looking forward to our dinner. All the dishes sounded as if they would be appealing but only the mushroom soup was outstanding. The boar, sea bass, ahi tuna, and zabaglione were all very mediocre and disappointing. The service was prompt and fine."
