A word from Osteria Cucina Rustica
Osteria translated in Italian literally means "a place where the owner hosts his guests." At Osteria Cucina Rustica we follow in that tradition. Life long friends Steven Botta and Angelo Bongiovanni have collaborated to design and recreate an authentic Osteria. A warm atmosphere along with
impeccable service and family recipes make for an unparalleled dining experience.
We begin with the freshest ingredients of the highest quality all prepared to order using family recipes passed down from generation to generation. The astronomic experience begins with the hospitality from the moment you walk through the iron forged doors. Next is the food where the love is present in each dish. The house made pasta to the freshest seafood to the dry aged steaks and our unique deserts made daily by our pastry chef make our uniqueness discernible.
The Bongiovanni and Botta families welcome you to Osteria, where we promise that you will come as a guest and leave as family.

Visited this restaurant with my
family , late snowy Saturday night. Despite the late hour and bad weather it was packed. We enjoyed our meal and the wine. The service was very good as well. The only downfall was the noise level. Otherwise very lovely place."

We enjoyed our dinner. Decor is
great. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Portion sizes were generous. Prices are pretty high, but it didn't seem to stop people from dining there because the place was full both times we went and neither time was a Friday or Saturday night. Their special steak offerings sound good, but are so enormous (36 oz. for a "single") and ridiculously expensive, so we didn't give them a try."

We had reservations for 4:45 pm.
Ordered our drinks immediately and placed our order. We knew that we wanted the Sunday Sauce. This was our 3rd time there since December. The waiter asked if we wanted our salads 1st and we said yes. Out came the salads @ 4:50 pm. That was fine. We were hungry. After 2 bites of salad...dinner was served @ 4:55 PM. We were shocked! I looked at my watch and knew we were only seated 10 min. Pushed our salad aside. I would never send back my meal :-) Now I know that the dinner was just sitting on the side waiting to be warmed up for someone.inexcusable at any price, especially at $29.00 per person for a pasta dish! One of the other waiters notice...he came over and apologized. It was too late. Our evening meal"

Very noisy. Menu is very limited.
Prices are too high. This isn't NYC."
Dined on 1/30/2014
This was our first time visiting
this restaurant. We knew it was pricey (think NYC prices), and it felt like we were dining in Manhattan. The place was busy and very noisy (you had to really listen hard to have a conversation with others at the table). There was a big focus on service. Lots of staff attending to guests. The food was also top notch. One person had the huge bone-in rib eye and it was served slightly over-cooked. They took it back without hesitation and prepared another one to our liking. We had a birthday in our group, and at the end of the meal they served ice cream with a candle and all sang Happy Bday. I definitely recommend this place, but make sure you go prepared to spend more than any other the place in the area."

We went midweek and early so it
was quiet. Waiter was knowledgeable, but had zero personality. On my reservation, I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday, but they ignored it. Food was outstanding: fresh pasta, great seasoning. Veal chop was wonderful. Cheesecake very good. Evening closed with a mistake on the check(of course not in my favor)."

My husband and I went to osteria
with another couple for dinner. We all ordered the 35 day aged porterhouse steak which were big and delicious! The only reason I did not give the review an outstanding review was that our waiter was not the greatest. He had no clue what the veggie side dishes were and had to go check. They also did not have the bottle of wine in stock that we wanted to order. Other then that, we love osteria and will definitely be going back again. Food is great...recommend the steak, the bolognese or the sea bass. Biscotti dessert is great too!"

Our waiter Julio was terrific . We
went there for my B-day and it was everything I expect plus great service. The pricey menu will not allow a frequent visit but will visit again ."
Dined on 1/15/2014
Food not that good for the price.
The fried calamari Was tasteless and the batter fell off. The manager or owner came to us at the end of the night and after we told him about our experience he just looked at me , got defensive and offered nnothing. Needless to say we won't be coming back here. It's ashame because the ambiance was beautiful / rustic. Loved the outside fire pit"
Dined on 1/9/2014
Great place for a special
occasion. Food was higher in price but worth the cost Will return again"
Dined on 1/2/2014
Home cooked flavors, everything is
fresh, wine list to fit all budgets, and the service is top notch...don't waste your time and money dining anywhere else! No need to travel to New York City for a great meal, save your gas and tolls for dessert, that is...if you still have room in your belly to eat it!"

The food was delicious! We had a
large group and the servers were always attentive. The portions were plentiful and I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family. It is our new favorite Italian restaurant close to home!"
Dined on 12/29/2013
The appetizers were okay. But when
the main mealce out it was terrible. I got the pappardelle pasta with mushrooms and truffles and it was so bland. Not only was there no taste but at the bottom of the bowl was liquid like the mushrooms water liquid that was not drained. No taste of truffle. I don't know if the chef was on vacation due to the holidays. I am not going back. The waiter didn't even read us the specials which I noticed he read it to the people next to us. Also they got their food before us even though we got there before them. It was just not at our night at this place."
Dined on 12/23/2013
Was very good food but I think
they could use a bit more waiters/waitresses People shouldn't be seated then wait 10-15 mins for a server to come over. Ive eaten here 3 times and the food has always been very good but it is pricey so be careful if you're on a budget. Filet Mignon was very good as was the pasta ala Michael but my favorite is the Veal Milanese - you wont have any regrets with that dish imo. Great for a special occasion as well."
Dined on 12/18/2013
Enjoyed the sood and the service
... will definitely return ... only wish it was a bit quieter ..."
Dined on 12/11/2013
Food was good but way too loud
couldn't hear my wife who was sitting across from me."
Dined on 11/27/2013
Restaurant had a nice ambiance and
rustic charm. The service was excellent. Pomegranate martini from the bar was delicious. The restaurant is local and we've heard terrific reviews. We were hoping the food was good so we had a new place to frequent but it was quite disappointing. Very average and similar to other Italian restaurants in the area."
Dined on 11/26/2013
Top Notch food but way too pricey
for a simple neighborhood bistro with below average service."
Dined on 11/24/2013
Food was great. Menu was lovely.
Service was what you'd expect. Bar was lively. Place was all good one exception was the noise level was awful. Perhaps tablecloths would help greatly. That was the only problem on Thursday night."
Dined on 11/14/2013
food and service was great. The
noise from the bar area was over powering in the dining area. If there was a glass wall or some sort of patition in place to hold down the noise from the bar area it would help."
Dined on 11/14/2013
This review is a little mixed.
This restaurant has a high energy level but bad accustics. End result its loud making conversation difficult. The food is good but the wait time is very long. End result the bar or outside bar in the summer is really the best place to be."
Dined on 11/14/2013
We have frequented this restaurant
now 5 times. We keep coming back because the food is delicious. But we are trying to find a night that we can talk to each other and hear each other without shouting. So far, we will not go back on Fri, Sat, or Thursday nights. Maybe, an afternoon will be our next try."
Dined on 11/7/2013
May be I expected too high,
disappointed. The food is just ok. The calamari is good, the complimented bread with 3 choices of dips is good. However, the entree is just so so. I ordered Oxtail Ragu. I expect more flavor and more Oxtail please. My husband ordered Caesar Salad with shrimp. He said the shrimp is over cooked and the salad is just ok. He prefer Brio instead. No kids menu, which I don't mind. The kids had Pizza and Calzone. They are alright. The service is very very good though. Always get ask for refill and very attentive. The only chance I might go back will be to try the dinner. I think they have more choices in the dinner menu."
Dined on 11/2/2013
From appts to dessert everything
was special. Had a cigar and an after dinner drink in their outdoor garden. Going back ASAP."
Dined on 10/22/2013
Rare gett a few old friends
together, six that is, but it came together the other night at Osteria Cucina Rustica for a birthday celebration for two of them. The food, service and hospitality were terrific! Looking forward to going back!"
Dined on 10/23/2013
The food was good and the service
was excellent. The prices are not warranted for the food served. It is not the type of place where you can just pick up and go with a family of 5 without paying 40.00 plus per person. The drinks were good but again do not justify the exorbitant price charged. I went with three children and there are no viable options for kids on the menu. In my humble opinion, given the cost, you have to think twice before going. If you want frequent repeat business, there needs to be far more diversity on the menu and more reasonably priced options on the menu. Otherwise after the novelty wears off their customer base will dwindle."
Dined on 10/16/2013
It was a beautiful night so we
decided to sit outside. BIG mistake...unless you like cigarette smoke. Our table was near the front entrance where everyone goes to smoke. AND you can smoke in the outdoor area so we were surrounded by smokers...gross. No one told us. Once our waiter realized we were not spending BIG bucks on appys, or a $95 steak he became totally disinterested in servicing us. He was very condescending. Entrees very expensive for what you get...Asked for a second basket of bread got a bread basket of lesser quality than the first...Had a business dinner but was evaluating the restaurant for a 12 person party in November...no way to expensive and mediocre service at best there are better options in the area."
Dined on 10/2/2013
The lunch menu was had a great
selection. The bread basket was served with a dish that include olive oil with roasted garlic, sautéed zucchini and fresh ricotta with herbs. The slide duo was superb ( one was a savory meatball and another with sausage and broccoli Rabelais and garlic). It got even better with the pasta! Pappardelle with wild mushroom, garlic & oil and the rigatoni with Bolognese. Dessert - try the vanilla gelato with the shot of expresso excellent! Best of all the pasta portions were so large we'll be having it for dinner today!"

Local neighborhood place tucked
away on Rte 79. Average food, high prices. My husband had the tasteless half roaster chicken, which as the menu misled was really "fried" and not roasted, and not truly "pounded". The polenta was overly creamed and more like a soup than anything resembling a corn based dish. My vegetarian faraelle pasta was tasty- once I had them add extra tomatoes."
Dined on 9/14/2013
Fabulous dining experience. Two
couples and four children. The staff is a pleasure. Food is divine! Loved our time there. Wish I could've turn down the noise level a bit but it was very enjoyable and we will be spending many nights with Osteria in the future."
Dined on 9/14/2013
Very disappointed with the food.
Expensive and not good."
Dined on 9/14/2013
My husband and I dined here on
September 7th, 2013. We started out with Fritto Misto, and Pulpo & Seppia. We found the pulpo & seppia a little over cooked but they had a nice char. The fritto misto was good but there were only 2 shrimp and 2 scallops in a mound of calamari rings. A few more of each as well as the tentacles of the calamari would have been great (personal preference). My husband ordered the Orata and I ordered the Costata di Vitello. I ordered it simply grilled with hot peppers, medium rare. It was delicious. The fish was little over cooked but it was seasoned nicely. We just had coffee, no dessert (too much food!). Overall great experience. We will definitely return."
Dined on 9/7/2013
The food and the service were
outstanding! The decor of the restaurant was beautiful! So glad to have such a wonderful place in our area."
Dined on 8/24/2013
Positives: Crabmeat appetizer was
great so was the eggplant tower !! Salads were large and very good. Negatives: Appetizer and entree prices were very high. Specials were told to table and no prices mentioned. When we got the check we realized that one steak entree was $75.00!! That needed to be told to the patron!! Weordered fish, came in foil pouch, and waiter opened foil and dumped the fish on plate. It was unattractive presentation and also a small portion for the $30 price. Need more fish variety on menu."
Dined on 8/17/2013
Took my wife and daughter to this
new neighborhood restaurant for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed a very tasty and unhurried meal in a lovely setting. The menu is varied and interesting, the food is delicious and the portions large, and the wait staff is friendly and attentive. The prices are a little high, but not unreasonable all things considered. My family and I will definitely be returning."
Dined on 8/17/2013
The food and surroundings are
first rate; however, the prices are high and the portions are small. The wine offerings are good, but again, prices are high. All in all, a good place for a special occasion."
Dined on 8/4/2013
So happy this Italian restaurant
opened, we needed a place like this in our neighborhood. Delicious food, especially the nights specials, Chris was our server and he was ON POINT!. Great outdoor patio where we enjoyed our dessert. Angelo and Steve took care of us like we were family. It was a truly pleasurable dining experience we will be regulars!!!"
Dined on 8/3/2013
With a less than half filled
dining room, this place is so loud you couldn't even hear your waiter say the specials. I can't imagine if it was filled how loud it would be in there. The food was good to very good. The cacio e pepe was a bit too buttery, but tasted almost like Rome. The veal chop was small for the price they charged for it ($42). The food overall was very good, but adding in the prices that they charge, and the noise factor, I wouldn't run back here."
Dined on 7/30/2013
Food is good to very good, but
selections of entrees were limited. Cost was very high compared to other neighorhood restaurants. $9 for Broccoli Rabe side, $28 for Hangar Steak, $42 for Veal chop? For this restaurant to succeed, they will need to reduce prices, as food is good, but not worth these prices. We paid $200 for 3 people, without drinks."
Dined on 7/29/2013
Wow! This place was converted from
a bank into a full service restaurant. Nothing was overlooked from the entrance to the silverware. 35 day old bone in rib eye was a sight for all and I recommend to anyone. Service was 5 stars! Julio is legendary! Can't wait to go back."
