  • "We have been to OC many times before but had not been since late last year. Restaurant, at least on this nite, was a disappointment. While food remains near the same quality, the service has really fallen off. Our server, while well-meaning, appears to be inexperienced and in need of training. The wine list also seemed to be much more limited than on previous visits. Not sure if we will return again in the near future."

  • "The food , the service and the atmosphere is right on at Osteria Coppa. We had the special which was pasta with black truffles and English peas. It was so good my husband soaked up the sauce with the bread. My soup was excellent lentil with Prosciutto and the Caesar Kale salad was mighty tasty. Wine selection is Unbelievable with so many the choose from. Great local restaurant with ease of reservations. Parking a little crazy on Saturday night but other than that it was FANTASTIC!"

  • "We've been here for lunch and dinner and the food and service is always good, with attentive staff and quality dishes. But if you plan to visit Osteria Coppa on Friday evenings at peak times, I strongly recommend reservations through Open Table. With the increased patronage comes a more lively environment - it can get noisy - so bring your outside voice or sit closer to those you wish to speak to - but always a fun place. Great bar, but wish they had more California wines on the wine list instead of so many Italian selections."

  • "Given the standard for Italian restaurants in the bay area, host to the likes of La Ciccia, A16, Incanto, Pizzaiolo, this restaurant is worse than medicore, but it is priced to compete with the others listed. Salumi platter: the salumi was fine, nothing exciting, however the portion can not be described as anything but stingy. We were nonplussed when it arrived, and remained nonplussed when we tasted it. We shared and enjoyed a Panna pizza. I ordered the duck special -- it was described as a duck and porcini ragu on fresh pasta -- and was utterly disappointed. No sauce to coat pieces of egg pasta that were stuck together. Duck was dry,tasteless, no hint of porcini. I preferred to leave half and come home for cheese and crackers."

  • "Food is always great ! But service is not.Had this server once before (Sassan) and it was equally as bad. It took 15 to 20 minutes before he even came over to ask for drinks. I watched him, he gets totally distracted talking to bigger tables. He finally took our order and we ordered quite a few things. Well, he got the side dish wrong and brought brussels sprouts instead broccoli.We sent it back. To get dessert was an equally lengthy proposition. We waited another 15 minutes for him to take the credit card and had to flag a bus boy to come get him.Makes for bad dining !!"

  • "Having last visited Osteria Coppa one year ago we looked forward to another wonderful lunch. Our expectations were not met. The menu choices were limited and the ones we chose "Pasta with Asparagus and Proscuitto" , Kale salad, Pasta Bolognese all missed the mark. The Asparagus consisted of a few stem pieces, the prosciutto was thick and tasted more of ham than the delicate prosciutto expected. The salads and Bolognese were nothing special. We had an appetizer of calamari and fennel. Tasty but not soggy fried presentation. Service was comical. Waiter made recommendations for dishes he had never tasted. Did not know wine list and kept running to bar with our questions. The few people dinning there speak to the current staff and menu."

  • "The Caesar salad was great. Perfect Caesar dressing and great homemade croutons. The special salad of the day was also fantastic. Light tasty dressing, and the garlic soup was very garlicy and good. The baked Rigatoni was very well made. The sauce was rich and flavorful and was cooked til the top was slight crispy, very nice. And lastly, the chocolate creme brulee was very chocolatey & smooth, glad we ordered dessert."

  • "We used to enjoy coming here, decent food, nice staff but not anymore. Now we have returned at least one entree each time we have been here. Food has been either way overcooked or just not the quality we have grown to expect. On top of that, to get attitude and dirty looks from the waitress, wow, I ignored that two times but after the last time, we will not be back for a long time. Management has to really be on top of what's going on in the restaurant but that clearly doesn't seem to be happening anymore."

  • "Yikes, I hate to admit that because I think it is already difficult enough to get a reservation. Daughter, granddaughter and I went there and had an amazing meal, tremendous service and a great time. Our wait person suggested sharing the dinners and we were both glad we did (even snuck a piece of the granddaughter's pizza, which looked to good to resist & was large enough so she could spare a piece). The seafood pasta was amazing and I really liked the fritto misto even though I don't typically order or like fried food. I thought the lemons were incredible. We'll be back."

  • "We have eaten before at Osteria with good results, but our most recent visit had several problems. We arrived early, and were told that we would be seated shortly. "Shortly" turned out to be twenty minutes after our reservation time, with an interim attempt to sit us on the patio in the pouring rain. We hoped that after waiting so long for a table, we would have plenty of time to relax and eat - but no, dishes were cleared before the entire group was finished eating; the bussers were clearly in a hurry to leave even though the restaurant was still 70% full; and the check was rushed out. The check which for some reason thought the credit card was a gift card, and left no room for a tip... Karma? We left one anyway, though not as large."

  • "We dine at Coppa on average 3 times week. Came in on Thursday with an Open table reservation. Coppa was not busy at all. Asked to sit at a table for 4 since we had someone joining us . Chris the Manager sat us at a table for 2. When we asked why since there were 3 tables for parties of 4 wide open.. he said ah... cause they are for parties of 4. So I said what are we going to do when our 3rd person arrives.. He said.. we'll set tham a place at your table for 2.. HUH??? seriously??? So when we left 2 4 tops tables... wide open... NOT A GOOD JOB of a Manager. poor skills."

I arrived before the rest of my party (I was on time) and since the restaurant was not crowded on this Tuesday evening they seated me right away so I could enjoy a relaxing glass of wine. Once the rest of our party arrived the waitress checked with us and got our drink orders and returned with them promptly. she recognized without being told that we were dep in conversation and hadn't yet glanced at the menu so she dropped off our drinks and came back later. She told us of the specials and took our order and the pace of the rest of the service was perfect. the only slight issue was bringing the check before we asked for it but I guess after all we are not in Europe anymore."

The service was extremely slow and a couple of the servers got plates mixed up and two of us didn't get their meals until 10 min. after the rest of us got our meals.   • "Valentine’s Day can be challenging but Friday night was a horror show. The excuse being shared liberally around the house was that the kitchen was backed up but the problems seemed universal. It took over 30 minutes to be seated for our reservation. The hostess sat a party of walk-ins ahead of reserved guests. 5 minutes later the manager asked the walk-ins to give up the table. Another manger was apologizing to all for the delay. She took an order for a refill of our drinks. The bar never received the order. Our waitress disappeared for 15 minutes or more several times. At one point it seemed to me like she’d just been crying. How did it take more than 45 minutes to prepare and serve an order of Fitto Misto? Food was hit or miss."

  • "I received a gift certificate for this restaurant and thought why not use this for Valentine's day. I was able to make reservations for 6PM (does help when I called in Janauary). After dealing with traffic where it took 45 minutes to drive and find a parking space (yes, it was Friday and Valentine's day with a car accident on 101 to top it off). We arrived about 10 minutes late to a packed house but they still had our table open. Overall the place is something that we enjoyed, a homey feel but with energy. But either they didn't have enough staff in the kitchen or on the floor, every item we ordered came late, especially our entree. We've been to Europe & I do appreciate that dinner should be a leisurely experience but this was a bit much."

  • "My family & I love Osteria Coppa, its has been a pleasure to have it around they have a lovely patio for walkins but most of the time they are nice to accomodate guest w/o a reservation or community table has hhr 5-7 & bar! if you have drinks b4 resso close tap so hhr can be redeem best way to get table w/o resso is opening time. Pasta and pizzas are home made to die for! Menu changes almost every day check website if looking for something in particular. Love table set w/ candles nice and romantic ambience. try raviolo & pumkin ravioli. Service very attentive & efficient bussers take water & bread right away hostess always smiling &attentive.   • "After having last dined here for dinner sometime ago, I made reservations to meet a friend here for lunch. As in past dinner dining experiences here, the lunch experience was just as great. We both had the dungeness crab salads which was composed of fresh mixed greens, pieces of artichoke and winter citrus. Continuous bread service that came with our lunch was a great compliment as well. After several years, Osteria Coppa continues to shine in my book!"
