Its decor is captivating with its mauve interior walls, subdued lighting and its pleated curtains framing its windows. The furniture is ergonomically compatible to soothe a sore back and prevent slouching that some overstuffed chairs and booths allow. The service is beyond superb. Our server, Sabrina, was charming as she was professional and adhered to our even smallest need. The entries are exceptional. Osteria produces a large list of specials daily. We had the Sea Bass and the Duck Breast. Both were beyond outstanding. This exceptional dining establishment more than met our expectations for a truly delightful Mother's Day celebration. I'm not much of a white wine drinker, but it seemed the wine list was notably short of white wines by the glass. Also not many red wines by the glass. But several pages of wines by the bottle. Now that Maryland lets you take the bottle of wine with you when you leave the restaurant, I guess that means the entire wine list could be considered "by the glass". This was our first time and we thoroughly enjoyed it! While a live jazz combo played, we enjoyed a lovely meal. Starting with a fresh, creative gin/cucumber cocktail (Floozie), continuing with fresh salads and onto our main dishes. I had the cioppino, which was superb and the spicy tomato broth was definitely worthy of dunking that crisp french bread into! Our only regret was that we didn't have time to enjoy a relaxed dinner and stay for desert! We'll definitely be back. The Branzino is spectacular! For a treat, have the server de-bone it table side. I prefere to do it myself relishing in finding the tiniest morsel. Cocktails are well crafted & the wine list quit sufficient. The server gets the vibe from the table on whether you like discretion or more social intercourse. Perfect. There is something on the menu for every taste with copious daily specials. Prices, however, for this fixed income patron, have been steadily rising. Everything was of the highest quality from the bresaola to the buffalo mozzarella flown in from Italy. The cioppino was excellent and the cinghiale was better than I remembered from my first visit. The panna cotta was quite unique with the addition of spices. The food is stellar and the service great. Dont expect to feel rushed here. Relax and enjoy your food the way you should! Our server was very genuine and had a great aura about him. He apologized if things were running a little slower than he liked, but then followed up with a quick return and a smile. The Branzino was spectavular and so was the swordfish. Dmitri, our waiter, made several recommendations, egg washed noodles with boar meat red sauce for me and a white cream sauce over pear dumplings for my guest. The pasta is handmade here and careful attention is made to all the small details. Definitely a 'go back'.
