A word from Oscar Drake's
Welcome to Oscar Drake’s, a Northwest Grille & Tavern. We were inspired by the classic American tavern of the 50’s and 60’s and offer a warm, comfortable and casually smart setting with food that is both unique and a bit traditional but always flavorful and moderately priced. We have three dining areas – The Tavern (our bar) featuring Northwest craft beers, highly regarded regional wines, classic cocktails and quality liquors – The Mt. Hood Room with paneled walls, framed photos, love seats, over-stuffed chairs and brick fireplace - The Grille (our dining room) with traditional booths, flexible open seating, wood floors, old brick walls and framed black & white photos of old Portland.

We open weekdays at 4pm – our Happy Hour is from 4pm to 6pm – and weekends and holidays at 9am offering a terrific traditional Brunch until 4pm. Please come and pay us a visit. We are committed to being your restaurant of choice and always a “Place of Hospitality!”

We went to Oscar Drakes before a recent a Timbers game. This is a perfect place to go. The service was very friendly and efficient. We were a group of 12 with kids. The kids were happy with everything they ordered. Our server was fabulous with them! The grown ups enjoyed the cocktail selection!! The meatloaf is fabulous. We will make Oscar Drakes our tradition before Timbers games!

The menu has a good array of items and many of them arwere new to us. We enjoyed the new choices. The service was excellent and paced well. We were visited at our table by a manager and had a chance to visit about his efforts to make the restaurant a comfortable place to dine. We had a great bloody Mary to begin the meal so that was also a plus. This was our first visit and on a Saturday. The restaurant was not crowded and we did not need reservation. Of course, the soccer stadium was also quiet

  • A good 50-50 burger

Had a 50-50 burger at Oscar Drakes and it was quite good. 50 percent bacon and 50 percent ground beef. Rustic and rich in flavor with a tasty potato bun. I was a bit disappointed with their pig wings which were overcooked to the point of being dry. We will return and try the more complete dinner menu.

Thorns and Timbers fans have a great eatery next door to the stadium. The menu has many choices include small plates, salads, or something more substantial like meatloaf. Veg friendly. Great bar with beer, cider, and cocktails.

  • Oscar Drakes a Goose Hollow Gem

We had brunch at Oscar Drakes. The egg dishes were delicious. The hot coffee was always topped off. Salads were fresh and we didn't fee crowded. Plenty of room to sit, relax and enjoy our day off with friends and visiting family. Goose Hollow is in need of brunch options. Thank goodness Oscar Drakes arrived. It's charming and reminds me of my time in Chicago and New York. A neighborhood gem.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2012

We saw this listing on open table the day of our dinner. It had great reviews! It was a new restaurant. 3 months old. The owner came out to greet us and has a great story - the restaurant is named after his grandson :). We had cheese curds, pork chop, and a curried chicken salad sandwich. All excellent. The location is great and there is free parking with validation in a structure on the same block as the restaurant. The ambiance is an old school tavern but nicer. I think we will definitely go back.

We went here on a whim the other night because it is near our house, and other reviews lauded the food and service. I was worried that this might be a chain--their logo design looks very cookie-cutter--but they are not. We used OpenTable for reservations, but on a Saturday night, you don't really need one. The service here was exemplary. Every restaurant should strive for this type of service. From the host to our server (Charity) to the manager, it seemed everyone cared about our experience. The menu was crisp and easy to understand. We had a salad, the pig wings, and steak frites. Everything was fantastic and nicely presented. I wish I could say more, but I'm running out of characters. If you are in the area, don't go to Ringside, go here

First time at Oskar Drakes. Menu had a great variety, although we all caved for the specials. Portions and prices were perfect. Service was perfect. We used the mobile payments tool, which was really cool, too!
