I'm a frequent flier at
Ortanique...Food is always great, everything I've tried on the menu has been very good. Let me comment on the service at the bar, it is wonderful. Attentive, courteous and efficient, Kevin has it all under control. Stop by during happy hour have a drink and stay for dinner."

Ortanique never disappoints! We
had the double pork chop and striped trout...both were fantastic! Perfect temp and seasoned very nicely. Drinks from the bar were well put together...finished up with the rum cake dessert."

We started our evening with the
Ortanique signature martini, great recommend by our bartender it was wonderful. The foie gras appitisser was perfectly prepared. We all enjoyed our seafood main courses and the affordable wine list. Great dinner don't miss it"

Consistently high quality food and
service. Delightful experience"

This is the one restaurant I
always take friends when they are visiting from out of town. It has never disappointed us. The food, service, and atmosphere are always on point and the monitors (as all know) are he best around."

We were visiting Miami and staying
in Coral Gables so wanted something that was easy to get to and offered an interesting and varied menu. Ortanique was fun—we were seated in a gauzy orange-draped area near the bar and the rest of the space had oranges trailing up columns or walls. The menu was diverse. I had porcelet which was tender. Our waiter was a highlight. He helped with the wine, gave us tastes and suggestions until we got what we wanted and also offered pros and cons on different dishes. Service was fine in terms of speed. It was a monday night but the place was packed by the time we left. Overall a unique space, good food with interesting mixes."
Dined on 2/24/2014
Great little place. Food and
service were above expectation. Our waitress was very good with her advice. Loud but the energy was good. The seating is close yet there was enough privacy."
Dined on 2/21/2014
We had not dined here in several
years, and now we are asking ourselves "why". This was a post concert, late evening meal, so we each ordered two appetizers and no entre. My wife said that her house salad she has ever eaten, which is amazing in and of itself. My mussels were prepared like no other, full of chopped vegetable and an extremely tasty broth with just the right amount of heat. We will return soon."
Dined on 2/15/2014
We had our Valentines night dinner
and the food was fantastic. Great for special occasions."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Made reservations well in advance
and requested a window table, instead got seated in the "outside lobby". I presume this was their overload seating. The food was delicious but a little too pricey value-wise. The service was sketchy but OK."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Disappointing experience. The
service staff was courteous and efficient; however, the restaurant was very noisy and the food was nothing special. The bouillabaisse was more like a mixed seafood grill with rice and my wife's tuna was a very pale and thin slice of tuna. I don't think we will be going back."

Surprised my wife with an early
valentine dinner at Ortanique. The food here is awesome. No cookie cutter dishes on the menu. Everything we've ever eaten here has been a treat. If you see the filet in the menu, order it! It's a but pricey at $55, but hands down the best filet we've ever had. Appetizers are great and desserts are excellent. The place is always busy, loud and crowded, but still passes as a "romantic" dining experience if you don't mind being two feet from your neighboring table. We certainly don't mind and feel it's part of Ortanique's charm."
Dined on 2/11/2014
Food is great and worth the high
price. Overall ambience suited for family dining, not for special occasions. VERY slow service. We saw a waitress spilling red wine all over a guest at another table."
Dined on 12/28/2013
Great location in the middle of
Miracle Mile. Restaurant has a very local and relaxed feel vs many of the other restuarants on the Mile. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. The food is VERY good with some very interesting flavors and the wine list is extensive and offers all price ranges. We will definately be returning."

This place is a MUST try! Have to
have the short ribs and calamari. Everything is great and it is definitely worth a try."
Dined on 1/17/2014
The food was delicious. I went
with a group of 6 and every one loved their meal. The only things is that the service was terribly slow. The wait staff was very nice but super slow."

Our experience was amazing. The
food was incredible, the place had just the right vibe and the staff was outstanding. I can't wait to go back!!"

This restaurant is always a hit.
Four of us ate there and we were all raving about how delicious our food was. The service was great, and the restaurant is very pretty. Would recommend and I will be back!"

How does one's taste buds become
tantalized/// Dining at Ortanique on the Mile.. This restaurant is intimate in its decor and has the Island influence tastefully infused. The choices in the beverage selections were varied and beckoning. I highly recommend the Jamaican Sparkler which is a mixture of Double Cross Vodka, Martini Prosecco and Hibiscus Juice ..the latter known as sorrel in Jamaica. The menu so varied made it challenging to choose, because you want to try one of each. The flavors of the food mouthwatering, tasty and tantalizing! The music, island influenced but soft, allowing you to be able to converse easily with your guest! A wonderful and memorable dining experience, soon to be repeated!"
Dined on 12/22/2013
This evening we had 11 for dinner
and the servers could not have been more attentive. The food was excellent as usual. I had the Cornish Hen and my wife had the Pork Tenderloin which melted in her mouth. Several of our guests had never been there and thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Thanks again Cindy Hutson!! One suggestion, bring back the old banana dessert!!"
Dined on 12/23/2013
The Bar is a great place to have
dinner! Service is outstanding and the food is always fabulous. Go by have a drink and stay for dinner! You'll be glad you did."

The Double Pork Chop…once you try
it you will understand!"

Ortanique is truly a gem. I have
enjoyed coming here for so many years and it never gets stale. Always nice to arrive early and grab a cocktail at the bar with Joel, Chantel & Kevin and talk to Chef Cindy who pops out to say hi. Great menu with wonderful daily specials. Friendly, attentive staff who make you feel right at home. Awesome happy hour and weekly wine/champagne special nights. Warm, unpretentious, yet, cool & hip Caribbean vibe make this spot a must go to."

Couldn't be more satisfied! I was
looking for a romantic experience, and I got more than I bargained for! The restaurant was busy, but the staff still made you feel at home and special. We had Mario, and he was both informative and very personable. He gave us recommendations and tried very hard to make the night "happen." The food was ssooo good too. My girlfriend had the seared tuna and I had the flat iron steak. All the accompaniments married very nicely with the entrée. All in all, this is a great place!"
Dined on 12/12/2013
Excellent!! I'm coming back next
week. I want to try other dishes."
Dined on 12/10/2013
Great food, service and the staff
is always spectacular! Not much else I can say. Try it you'll like it."
Dined on 11/22/2013
Crab cake was outstanding. I only
had problem with Norma's salad. I usually ask for dressing on the side, but this time I forgot. Most restaurants, now a days, automatically serve dressing on the side. When the salad came, it had WAY too much dressing on it. I should have sent it back, but I just procrastinated. I will remember next time."
Dined on 11/30/2013
Outstanding food and service. We
were a large group and everything was prepared as ordered. Nice and friendly service"
Dined on 11/27/2013
I have been here at least 6 times
on different business trips, twice for this trip. Just very enjoyable, food is excellent, served hot, always prepared expertly, portions are good, excellent wine list, and ambiance is good. Reservations are generally encouraged but I have always gotten in without one. Food available at the bar. This time I was with 6 people. They all raved about the service and food. None had been to the restaurant before. Pablo was our server and I highly recommend him."
Dined on 11/21/2013
Ortanique always delivers. I
usually tell first-timers to try the ahi tuna, and they consistently agree with me that it's the best they ever had. There are outstanding dishes for all palettes and wonderful desserts, friendly and good service, and - importantly -- Ortanique has a vibrant atmosphere WITHOUT the brain-jangling din so common at most "trendy" restaurants that prevents you from hearing what the person seated 3 feet away from you is saying. I have been to Ortanique probably 30 times and it is a reliable choice for delicious food and a very satisfying dining experience. Excellent place to bring out of town guests and business clients."
Dined on 11/15/2013
I have been coming to this
wonderful restaurant for as many years as it has been open. I always choose it to take my out of town guests because the food is wonderful, the service is solicitous without interrupting, and the room is a cocoon of colors and fabrics. The bar tender takes care of you if you have an early arrival and everyone has a smile on their face. We are now so inundated with chains it is a blessing we still have originals like ortanique."
Dined on 11/11/2013
Wow sums it all up, I have been
here several times and keep coming back for more. Every time I try a new dish and they always are consistently great!"
Dined on 11/12/2013
Loved everything! The service was
outstanding, and for Miami the price was very reasonable. We will definitely be going back!"
Dined on 11/9/2013
I love to bring visitors here for
lunch or dinner. Special ambience with excellent, creative dishes."
Dined on 11/8/2013
I once ate here over 10 years ago
and was so excited that they are still around and still AMAZING!! The food and service was fabulous and we enjoyed every bit of this dining experience."
Dined on 11/2/2013
I was disappointed with the
quality of the food. While the food was good, it was not worth the price I paid."
Dined on 11/4/2013
This place had a distinct charm
and the menu was interesting with a wide selection. I am vegan and so I left it to the chef to create a surprise dish. I was not disappointed! Desserts were great too and the staff gave us good advice on the wines (extensive by-the-glass selections were available). I think anyone who is visiting Miami, should have this on their list of restaurants to dine out at . It's awesome!"
Dined on 10/28/2013
After a long week of challenges,
meeting with friends over an exquisite dinner and great cocktails at Ortanique was a refreshing experience! The cocktails were excellently prepared, refreshing and popping with taste. The appetizers were a exciting prelude to the main course. The main course was pure joy of intricately combined flavors of a fusion of Caribbean cuisine. Desserts, too, topped off the dinner with the comfort that it would be equally as exhilarating as the rest of the meal. Thank you for a joy filled experience!"
Dined on 10/20/2013
Have been there many times. Food
has usually been excellent. This time was mediocre at best. It used to be so creative. For such a pricey restaurant, higher quality is expected. Wine list also overpriced. Noise level was extreme. Chef was not there. Is she planning on expanding again? We are from Washington DC and know what happened with that "expansion". Is the chef neglecting coral gables because she is preoccupied elsewhere? Cannot recommend it based on this experience. One major plus- hostess went out of her way to try to find us a "quieter" table."

what an enjoyabe evening...the
evening that I happened to make reservations happened to be the night when the restaurant holds their wine tasting..interesting wines and the group seemed quite interesting,..right after the tasting people settled into tables to dine there.. on to my experience, 6 years ago I dinned in Ortanique and is still delicious food, innovating and ecletic, I enjoyed every moment of it.the wine list is friendly and has the best out there still going strong in what their offer and prices are quite reasonable, is a true wine connoiseur list...I had the crab cake, nice and chunky and tasty with a nice light spicy sauce & corn goulash, entree was tuna and wonderful.highly recommend eating here again & again"
