  • "Orta continues to be a lovely place to gather with friends and family to have a wonderful dinner and reconnect. Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting two friends there for dinner. Neither of them had been in a while and were quite taken by the fun atmosphere, delicious food and fun new drink menu. We enjoyed catching up and never felt rushed to move things along."

  • "My husband and I just moved to the south shore and have been searching for our date night spot. We found it with Orta. We made reservations for a Sunday night not sure what kind of a crowd to expect. The dining room was half full when we arrived and we were seated near their cozy brick oven. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable and suggested some cocktails from their new spring list. They were fantastic! We both ordered appetizers which were yummy. The arancini had a slight lemon flavor and a spicy tomato sauce and the beef carpaccio was the best we ever had. Our entrees were served piping hot and timely, the beef short ribs for him and the yellow-fin tuna for me, both were delicious. Great flavor combinations! Cant wait to go back!"

  • "The staff is always welcoming, friendly, & attentive; and have a way of making you feel like special VIPs. The food is always inventive & unique (The mahi-mahi we had was heavenly!) They also have comfort foods, like pizza & pasta, and their meat loaf is delicious. They now offer charcuterie as an appetizer and it is incredible, and only gets better as they experiment with different offerings. When we went last it had goat cheese rolled in pistachio nuts, duck liver pate, paper thin homemade pickles, onion jam, olives, served with crisps. The charcuterie and a glass of wine would make a perfect light meal. We have other restaurants in the area, but find ourselves coming back to Orta on a regular basis for all the reasons mentioned above."

  • "Went with a group of six. We went on a Saturday night at 7:00, full house, an hour wait if you didn't have a reservation. We were seated late, but the party before was "lingering" at our reserved table. The hostess apologized, but we said not to worry, because we hadn't seen each other in a while and appreciated the extra time to catch up. The hostesses were very friendly. The server was very attentive. Food was fantastic. Raves from all in our party. Our group had everything from swordfish to orecchietta with sausage, to panko-crusto chicken. Everything was well prepared, nicely seasoned, and piping hot. We would return again. This is a great suburban restaurant. They are over the top. No need to travel into the North End."

  • "Disappointed. SImply, Orta crams too many tables into a large storefront. Their kitchen is not staffed to cook their menu in a timely way. The food was good but we waited so long for a simple pasta dish and a pizza that we ended up taking it to go. Our wait person seemed to have forgotten to put in our order on top of it. Orta should reduce the number of tables, train the cooks in an open kitchen to at least look busy and train wait staff to give customers a little TLC."

  • "My husband and I hadn't been to Orta in a while so we decided to go there on a Saturday night. I booked reservations so we wouldn't need to wait. Apparently that is not how reservation booking works at this particular restaurant. Once we arrived, we were not seated until nearly an HOUR after our reservation time! Although our waiter was very pleasant, the food took forever to come out and then when it finally arrived, it wasn't very good. I ordered the tuna dish and found it to be underwhelming. The sauce that came with it seemed like something you'd get at a fast food restaurant and it didn't seem to compliment the tuna. My husband ordered pizza which he did like. I will say that the pizzas there are consistently good."

  • "Food was amazing. Best tirimisu we have ever had. Service was just okay. I think the staff needs to do a better job of acknowledging people when they sit down. We waited almost ten minutes before we saw our server and the table next to us waited even longer."

  • "Celebrated three girlfriends birthdays the other night at Orta. We all loved the stuffed pepper appetizer and risotto cakes. The drinks we're also awesome and our meals we're scrumptious. 2 friends shared a steak dinner sand raved of the generous large portion size and ate every bite. Another had the salmon which was excellent. I turned the lobster cakes appetizer into a meal and they were delicious and plenty. The waitress was very sweet and attentive. had a great evening and will be returning again soon."

  • "One of our favorite restaurants. Outstanding food and drinks and truly a restaurant who's quality rivals the best restaurants in Boston, or anywhere. Brett and Cara Williams do an amazing job and have a great staff."

  • "we had requested an alcove when we made our reservation and for the third time we were seated in the alcove directly across from the servers station. We were privy to all their conversations and it was noisy and busy as any severs station would be. I guess we need to request not to be seated there again."

  • "First time at Orta and I liked it a lot. It has a casual vibe compared to the price of the entree (33$ for the special) but also offers pizza. The service was very good and we really enjoyed ourselves. Food was good - not foodie good but better than the average pizza chain for sure. High end casua (note it is second floor of a little new strip malll. I suggest requesting a booth or a table away from the middle if you don't want to be in the center of all the action. Will return for sure."

  • "We chose Orta for a 'Cousins Get Together' and it lived up to expectations. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and our server was attentive. The food was great, although we were a bit disappointed in the special 'antipasto for two'. There was not even enough for one, which was too bad as what they sent out was very tasty. The steamed mussels and the steak were heavenly! All in all, we can't wait to go back."

  • "I had a 5:00 Reservation, this is the restaurant's opening time. My reservation was for 6. I did not like the initial seat assignment near the entrance, where people were standing, people coming in, cold draft, etc. I was given, and the Host was kind enough to move us, thought the second seating was in the middle of the restaurant noisy, and still near the door. I learned, based on the Host's reaction to asking him if he had a more quiet corner for 6, (he said the second assignment was the best he could do), that the restaurant is ill-equpped at accommodating more than 4 quietly. I noticed several high 4 tops in a corner that could have easily been put together. Food and service was EXCELLENT, so this more than made up for our seating."

  • "We think Orta has been a real standout in the area since it changed hands. Like all "new" restaurants, the test of time is important. Right out of the gate, we though the new Orta was exceptional for the suburbs. In the last couple of months, we have experienced some bumps in the road but not enough that we would stop going. Both the food and attention from wait staff was excellent last night, but we did wait about an hour for our dinner which we thought was too long. The food has been delicious, the experience on slower times has been great. I just think they need to work through handling busier nights while keeping the quality consistent."

  • "After hearing so many great things about this place, I finally ventured over to check it out. And that was the first of many more trips that I will be taking to this amazing restaurant. There isn't a single negative thing I could say. The food, drink, service, and atmosphere was some of the best I've ever experienced. I'm only sorry I waited so long to go! I will go back over and over. Orta is doing some outstanding work and I can't wait to return!"

  • "My boyfriend and I returned to Orta after our wonderful experience from New Years. And wow! This place is still hopping. The food came out quick and hot. And the pizza is amazing. We got the short rib pizza. Defiantly going to be back for more real soon!"

  • "My friend & I went for an early dinner before going to a movie. We shared a Caesar salad, and she had a Margherita pizza while I had Rigatoni Bolognese- both of which were very good. (The portion of the Rigatoni was huge and I ended up taking over half of it home!) My only complaint was the service. The server never came to ask how our meal was, we had to "catch her" to get out water refilled numerous times, and we had to flag her down to get our bill & carry out boxes. I will go back & give it a secong chance because the food was so good."

  • "what I love about Orta, and this is consistant-you NEVER feel rushed. It is more like Europe or somewhere other than our fast paced New England home. Waitstaff is seasoned and calm and accommodating, food delish, drinks creative. Linger and enjoy the night."

  • "Our meals hadn't arrived after an hour. Our salads took too long to arrive as well (to be fair, our salads were the best part of the meal). My 8 year old made me promise that I wouldn't make him come here ever again. Dinners arrived too hot for a child. After a burnt mouth, I spent the next 5 minutes cooling my sons meal. The chicken parm was nothing special. My white pizza was just ok. The service was adequate at best and not nearly as attentive as you would hope or expect. The high top table was not a very smart choice for a child whose legs couldn't reach the supports on the stools (and the small size of the tables make things cramped for more than two people). Overall, not a good dining experience."

  • "We went their day after Valentines Day and also during a large snowstorm so we thought there would be no one in the restaurant. We were wrong. Our reservation was for 6pm and we got great service, very good food and a wonderful times with freinds. The prices are very reasonable. I don't eat farm raised fish so it was nice to know that there was a fish choice that was not piped full of antibiotics. I would like them to state on the menu the non farm raised selections."

  • "We had been to Orta once before (under current management) and were just a little disappointed in the food. However, this time my dinner was perfectly cooked and totally delicious. My husbands was also well prepared. the menu has something for everyone and the service is always very good. When we made the reservation, we said we would arrive at 5 PM and asked that we be served as promptly as we needed leave (show in Duxbury) at 6. The server remembered that request and we were done before 6 and had time for coffee. We were pleased. (Don't know about noise level as we were so early there were few others there)"

  • "This was my first visit and I'll be sure to return for a special occasion! The ambiance was delightful. The unique shape of some of the table areas, added a nice touch. The restaurant was surprisingly full for a Tuesday evening. The service was great, our waitress made a point of not rushing us, it was a nice relaxing evening after a long day at work. The food was outstanding and plentiful. We each enjoyed a beautifully presented yellowfin tuna dinner and had enough to take home for the next day. The salad, the wine, and the fastastic entree, a great choice for an elegant dinner out! I can't say enough for the food preparation, it was really scrumptuous!"

  • "The food, the atmosphere, the staff and management and the patrons were all wonderful at Orta! We will definitely be back super soon! Our waiter (Nick) was wonderful, full of personality and LOVED his job, the owners presence is extremely obvious in the caring dedication of their staff! What a great find and so nice to see customer service still exists!!! Honestly, we couldn't find anything wrong with Orta (except maybe the font size on the menu being a bit small for the middle aged among us LOL)! Even the prices were good!!!"

  • "As a location for a first date, I found Orta to be both intimate and collegial, and I had an opportunity to make a wonderful conection over some fabulous food. The pan seared tuna was rich and fatty (Toro), and the fresh vegetables were very tasty. My date enjoyed the sole, the grilled brussel sprouts were excellent, and the black rice - never heard of it before, but it was delicious - great nutty flavor."

  • "We had a party of 6 for our NYE celebration at ORTA. The table was ready on time and the three course fixed menu had many selections. We started with Beet salad, Cesar Salad, Tuna Tartare, and Arancini. Dinner was Salmon, Braised Beef Short Rib, Spice Seared Tuna, Lobster Ravioli and a Steak that my friend raved about. For Desert we passed around one of everything offered. We have gone out on NYE with this group for over twenty years and have been disappointed more times that I want to remember on food quality and/or service, NYE is always tough. This was no the case at ORTA the food was excellent and our server Pauline was outstanding. I was the hero this year for making the reservation."

  • "I went to Orta Restaurant with my boyfriend for NewYear's Eve. We arrived and met the wonderful owner Cara Williams at the host stand. We were brought to a wonderful table called the alcove. The ambience of the Restaurant was outstanding. When our server Colleen greeted us at the table she explained the fixed menu. And brought over our meal. It was AMAZING!!! the arichini hit the spot. With the Prime (thats right, PRIME!) Steak. And mini doughnuts for dinner. After we went to the bar to watch the ball drop. It was deffiently the right way to end the year. Thank you Brett, Cara, and Orta restaurant for starting my year off right."

  • "We had a wonderful prix fixe dinner at Orta on New Year's Eve. We were seated right away and were given a complimentary glass of champagne. The menu for the evening had something for everyone. My companion started with the calimari appetizer and then ordered the pappardelle with duck confit for his main course. He was very happy with his meal and really loved the duck dish. I ordered the tuna tartare appetizer which was wonderful and then had the lobster ravioli for my main course. The sauce on the ravioli made the dish extra special. For dessert we ordered the Crema di Amoretti and the Apple Crostada. I have to say we have always enjoyed out dining experiences at Orta. They go the extra mile."
