OrsayOur Trip to New YorkThis is a great little French Restaurant in the Upper East Side
Great Food, and feels like you are in a Parisian Bistro
Would definitely recommend it to friends6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOrsay is the place for a classicOrsay is the place for a classic Parisian brasserie experience in NYC. The food is always "spot on." They do a fantastic job with steak frites and steak tartare. Prices are reasonable also.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful night with friendsOrsay always treats me like a "princess" and I am grateful for their attention, ambience, service and delicious food.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu is inventive. TheThe menu is inventive. The sweet bread salad is interesting (but breaded and deep-fried) and tasty. The scallop sausage was delicious and served in a lobster flavored sauce. On a Tuesday night, the restaurant was packed and quite noisy! Great for Orsay but not great for conversation. Would definitely return.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMwe couldn't do without it!delicious, like a club-- the more often you go, the better the service..5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't Wait To ReturnWe're so happy we found Orsay. Will surely return.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went on Mothers Day andWe went on Mothers Day and were surprised that the restaurant wasn't too crowded - our service was attentive without being overbearing. We spent the first 20 minutes talking over wine with friends before we even looked at the menu. Never did our waitress make us feel rushed. The portions of food were perfect without feeling skimpy. We would go back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is a reason why theyThere is a reason why they have been successful so long, and it is obvious after eating there again after not having been there for 10 years5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest neighborhood restaurantAnd, worth a trip if you do not live nearby. One of NY best looking Paris bistros !4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways dependable. EscargotAlways dependable. Escargot over cooked - would expect better from a well known French restaurant but not a deal breaker. We will continue to return!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, as always. We loveExcellent, as always. We love to come here ourselves and bring guests, who always love it also. The food, ambiance and service is always excellent.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFrom the moment we walkedFrom the moment we walked through the door we had an amazing experience. The food was spectacular. However, noise was TERRIBLE. It was the kind of place where you have to yell to talk to anyone across from you. Went with a party of 6 people. I could only hear the person sitting right next to me.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good all around. LiveVery good all around. Live in neighborhood. Vast improvement since opening.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOk I'll share--Great BrunchVery attentive staff who work together and seamlessly. They clearly care about your experience and work to get things right. The French Toast is yummy.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Experience!Ended up here by accident (after giving up on Arlington Club, which kept us waiting in a horrible scrum of people for 30+ minutes past our reservation time), but was so glad we did. Our party of 5 received a warm welcome, and we were shown immediately to our table. The atmosphere is very authentic--it feels like you've stepped into France. Everything we tried was great--in particular the crab claws and the pistachio sausage appetizers, and the steak frites and cassoulet for the main course. Tasty desserts too, and good wines available by the glass or carafe. Will definitely return.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a pleasure to be atAlways a pleasure to be at Orsay with friends. The staff is excellent and courteous. The food is excellent.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat surprise. ExcellentGreat surprise. Excellent food, nice scene. Will return.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGenuine French cuisine delightThis restaurant effortlessly recreates a Parisian brasserie in New York City. The space feels authentic, staff spoke French, but the menu was in English, something you have to beg for in Paris. I enjoyed foie gras, duck a l'orange and a tarte tatin with a delicious crisp Sancerre. Yes it was pricey, but worth every cent. A marvelous place for a romantic dinner, or a family outing (if you are a wealthy family).3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend's Birthday lunchMy friend's Birthday lunch was a hit. The staff at Orsay were amazingly attentive from check-in, to our exit, which seemed rather grand with two maitre d's opening the double doors for us. Tasty mushroom soup, and her tuna tartare was abundant, lovely and quite delectable. The complimentary and celebratory plate of cookies...macarons, elephant ears, almond paste & coconut...such a sweet ending to a very nice Birthday, ladies' lunch out.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMComfortable, competent and charmingWe eat here often. It is consistently fine food, unpretentious cooking without the cuisine affectations that so many places fail to deliver. Great East Coast oysters, hanger steak (the cut the French eat) and a well constructed wine list. Just as good as you would hope for in a Bourgeois local brasserie in France.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBoth of us were delightedBoth of us were delighted with what we ordered. I had the salmon tournedos with bernaise sauce on the side, grilled asparagus and a mesculin salad. My friend had the cod dish and also found it very flavorful. The wait staff was also very attentive. In the past we've had their scallops and also their steak. Very good as well.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb and beautiful ambiance-Superb and beautiful ambiance- one of NYC best looking 'bistro type' in appearance. WEllserved and etremely pleasant front desk for reservations and overall spervision.2/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOrsay is a neighborhood hotOrsay is a neighborhood hot spot. The crowd is chic upper east side and yet very comfortable. The food is excellent and the service might even be better. We have been going there more and more lately because they have been so nice to us and the food is consistent every time. Closest to being in Paris of almost all restaurants in NYC.
I highly recommend it. You will have a wonderful experience all around2/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding ReviewOrsay indeed is a great upper east side french cuisine. The ambiance is outstanding, great location! it is close to where I work.
